In this paper, we propose the implementation of waveguide-coupled ring resonators in photonic crystal integrated circuits. Using two-dimensional finite difference time domain (2D FDTD) method, we study the spectral characteristics of a waveguide-coupled ring carved in two-dimensional photonic crystal of square lattice (2D SLPC) and based on the results, we suitably modify the structure geometry to establish its performance as a ring resonator. We further investigate the effects of ring dimension and crystal parameters on the resonance properties of the ring resonator. 相似文献

The interaction of two parallel plane jets of different velocities is studied by flow visualization and PIV measurement to
examine the influence of velocity ratio on the development ofjets in the initial region. It is found that the parallel plane
jets develop toward the high velocity side and the jet width is reduced with a decrease in the jet velocity ratio. Corresponding
to the variation of mean velocity field to the velocity ratio, the magnitudes of turbulence intensities, Reynolds stress and
static pressure are weakened in the merging region of the jets and their peak locations of the properties are shifted to the
high velocity side. These results indicate that the interaction of two parallel jets is weakened with a decrease in the velocity

The ene reaction of sulfur dioxide with enoxysilanes or with allylsilanes generates silyl sulfinates that can be brominated (Br(2) or NBS) or chlorinated (NCS or Cl(2)) to produce the corresponding sulfonyl halides. They react with primary and secondary amines or alcohols to give the corresponding sulfonamides and sulfonic esters, respectively. The hetero-Diels-Alder addition of sulfur dioxide to 1-oxy- or 1,3-dioxy-1,3-dienes generates zwitterions that add to enoxysilanes or allylsilanes giving silyl sulfinates that can be converted in situ into polyfunctional sulfonamides or sulfonic esters. 2-Methylprop-2-ene-1-sulfonyl fluorides can be easily prepared via the ene reaction of methallylsilanes and SO2. In the presence of a base, aldehydes and 2-methylprop-2-ene-1-sulfonyl fluorides give 1,3-(E) and (Z)-dienes. Their (Z)→(E) isomerization by classical means fails or leads to their polymerization. It is shown that SO2 can isomerize 1-aryl-3-methyl-1,3-dienes at low temperature, without formation of sulfolenes (cheletropic addition/elimination). Preliminary mechanistic studies suggest that SO2 adds to 1,3-dienes forming 1,4-diradical intermediates that are responsible for the (Z)→(E) isomerizations. 相似文献

A microscale cyclical electrical field flow fractionation (CyElFFF) channel is characterized with regard to the effect of various operating parameters and comparison made to recent theoretical developments. Challenges associated with various operating conditions are reported along with some of the optimized operating parameters. The effect of retention wall choice, an offset voltage, relaxation steps, and flow rates, along with the basic operating parameters of voltage, frequency, and electrophoretic mobility are reported. Retention of polystyrene nanoparticle standards is accomplished and the first separations using this technique in a microscale system are also demonstrated. Relaxation steps and offset voltages are found to be effective in eliminating early peaks and in improving plate heights. Plate heights were also found to decrease with increasing flow rates, which is the opposite of the behavior seen in most existing chromatographic systems. The experimental results are compared to the analytical and empirical models of CyElFFF and found to be compatible. Suggestions are made for improving the separation and analysis methods used with CyElFFF. 相似文献

A synthetic reexamination of a series of ketodihydronicotinic acid class antibacterial agents was undertaken in an attempt to improve their therapeutic potential. A convenient new synthesis was developed involving hetero Diels-Alder chemistry producing 74 new analogs in a multiple parallel synthetic manner and these were examined in vitro for their antimicrobial potential. Several compounds demonstrated significant broad-spectrum activity against clinically derived bacterial strains but previously known 1-(2,4-difluorophenyl)-6-(4-dimethylaminophenyl)-4-pyridone-3-carboxylic acid (7) remained the most potent compound in this class. Cross-resistance with ciprofloxacin supported a commonality of mode of action. Permiabilization of Escherichia coli cells by polymyxin B significantly enhanced potency with these agents suggesting that poor cellular uptake was primarily responsible for the disappointing activity against bacteria that some of the analogs exhibited. 相似文献
