Maximizing nonlinear light-matter interactions is a primary motive for compressing laser pulses to achieve ultrashort transform limited pulses. Here we show how, by appropriately shaping the pulses, resonant multiphoton transitions can be enhanced significantly beyond the level achieved by maximizing the pulse's peak intensity. We demonstrate the counterintuitive nature of this effect with an experiment in a resonant two-photon absorption, in which, by selectively removing certain spectral bands, the peak intensity of the pulse is reduced by a factor of 40, yet the absorption rate is doubled. Furthermore, by suitably designing the spectral phase of the pulse, we increase the absorption rate by a factor of 7.  相似文献

Nonleptonic kaon decays (K→2π) have been analyzed using the chrial-bag model. This continues the research of nonleptonic decays by the authors (Ref. [7] below). The results obtained are in qualitative agreement with those based on QCD-duality. the decay amplitudeA(K +→π+π0) (ΔI=3/2) can be explained while the ΔI=1/2 decay amplitudes are 4 to 5 times smaller then the observed values. The ratio ofK 0 decay amplitudes ξ=|A(K 0→π+π?)/A(K 0→π0π0| is larger than one, as it is experimentally. This is an improvement in comparison with MIT-bag model, where ζ was always smaller than one, even if ΔI=1/2 pieces in the theoretical expressions were enhanced.  相似文献

Classical and quantum entropic properties of holographic dark energy (HDE) are considered in view of the fact that its entropy is far more restrictive than the entropy of a black hole of the same size. In cosmological settings (in which HDE is promoted to a plausible candidate for being the dark energy of the universe), HDE should be viewed as a combined state composed of the event horizon and the stuff inside the horizon. By any interaction of the subsystems, the horizon and the interior become entangled, raising thereby a possibility that their quantum correlations be responsible for the almost purity of the combined state. Under this circumstances, the entanglement entropy is almost the same for both subsystems, being also of the same order as the thermal (coarse grained) entropy of the interior or the horizon. In the context of thermodynamics, however, only additive coarse grained entropies matter, so we use these entropies to test the generalized second law (GSL) of gravitational thermodynamics in this framework. While we find that the original Li's model passes the GSL test for a special choice of parameters, in a saturated model with the choice for the IR cutoff in the form of the Hubble parameter, the GSL always breaks down.  相似文献

Interpretability logic is a modal formalization of relative interpretability between first-order arithmetical theories. Verbrugge semantics is a generalization of Veltman semantics, the basic semantics for interpretability logic. Bisimulation is the basic equivalence between models for modal logic. We study various notions of bisimulation between Verbrugge models and develop a new one, which we call w-bisimulation. We show that the new notion, while keeping the basic property that bisimilarity implies modal equivalence, is weak enough to allow the converse to hold in the finitary case. To do this, we develop and use an appropriate notion of bisimulation games between Verbrugge models.  相似文献
