A model for the straight antiphase domain boundary of the ultrathin aluminum oxide film on the NiAl(110) substrate is derived from scanning tunneling microscopy measurements and density-functional theory calculations. Although the local bonding environment of the perfect film is maintained, the structure is oxygen deficient and possesses a favorable adsorption site. The domain boundary exhibits a downwards band bending and three characteristic unoccupied electronic states, in excellent agreement with scanning tunneling spectroscopy measurements.  相似文献

Using high resolution core level spectroscopy, a surface core level shift towards lower binding energy of −0.13 eV is determined for the 2p level of the outwardly relaxed Al surface atoms on NiAl(1 1 0). Density functional theory based calculations with inclusion of final state effects yield a value of −0.14 eV for this shift in excellent agreement with experiment. We show that the initial state approximation yields a value of +0.09 eV, i.e. the inclusion of final state relaxation effects is vital not only to obtain the correct value but even the correct sign for this shift.  相似文献

Phase-locked discharge patterns of single cat auditory-nerve fibers were analyzed in response to complex tones centered at fiber characteristic frequency (CF). Signals were octave-bandwidth harmonic complexes defined by a center frequency F and an intercomponent spacing factor N, such that F/N was the fundamental frequency. Parameters that were manipulated included the phase spectrum, the number of components, and the intensity of the center component. Analyses employed Fourier transforms of period histograms to assess the degree to which responses were synchronized to the frequencies present in the acoustic stimulus. Several nonlinearities were observed in the response as intensity was varied between threshold and 80-90 dB SPL. Response nonlinearities were strong for all signals except those with random phase spectra. The most commonly observed nonlinearity was an emphasis of one or more stimulus components in the response. The degree of nonlinearity usually increased with intensity and signal complexity and decreased with fiber frequency selectivity. Half-wave rectification introduced synchronization to the missing fundamental. The strength of the response at the fundamental was related to stimulus crest factor. Signals with low center frequencies and high crest factors often elicited instantaneous discharge rates at the theoretical maximum of pi CF. This suggests that the probability of spike generation approaches one during high-amplitude waveform segments. Response nonlinearity was interpreted as arising from three sources, namely, cochlear mechanics, compression of instantaneous discharge rate, and saturation of average discharge rate. At near-threshold intensities, fibers with high spontaneous rates exhibited responses that were linear functions of stimulus waveshape, whereas fibers with low spontaneous spike rates produced responses that were best described in terms of an expansive nonlinearity.  相似文献

Zusammenfassung Es wird eine Goldbestimmung an sulfidischen Erzen für den Bereich von 0,05–5 ppm bei 20 g Einwaage beschrieben. Das Gold wird durch Salpetersäurebehandlung von den übrigen Metallen getrennt, mit Salzsäure/ Salpetersäure gelöst und mit Selen als innerem Standard und Tellur als Spurenfänger mittels Zinn(II)-chlorid gefällt. Der Niederschlag wird auf ein Membranfilter aufgezogen. Die Goldbestimmung erfolgt über den Impulsratenquotienten der Gold L- und Selen K-Linien. Die störende Molybdän K-Strahlung und die Comptonstreuung werden durch ein Zirkoniumblech auf dem Röhrenfenster unterdrückt. Der Variationskoeffizient beträgt 20% für 0,2–5 ppm und 53,6% für 0,05 ppm.
Summary A method is described for the determination of gold in sulphide ores within the concentration range of 0.05–5 ppm with sample weights of 20 g. Gold is separated from the other metals by treatment with nitric acid, dissolved by hydrochloric acid, containing some nitric acid, and is finally precipitated by stannous chloride applying selenium as internal standard and tellurium as collecting agent. The precipitate is mounted on a diaphragm filter and the determination of gold is carried out by X-ray analysis suppressing the disturbing Mo K radiation and compton scattering by a zirconium sheet-metal on the X-ray tube. The pulse rate quotient of the lines Au L /Se K is a function of the concentration of gold. The variation coefficient is 20% for 0.2–5 ppm and 53.6% for 0.05 ppm.

Idealized polymethines are defined as conjugated chain molecules with complete bond equilization and charge alternation. A constant π-bond order along the chain with N atoms has been derived for three types of polymethines which differ by the nature of the heteroatomic end groups. Corresponding to the number of π-electrons they are termined (N + 1)π-, Nπ- or (N ? 1)π-polymethines. This classification embraces closed shell as well as open shell systems. The relations for the energy eigenvalues, coefficients and derived quantities have been obtained in closed form. The results for the different classes of polymethines are strongly related. Zugleich wurde die Zusammensetzung der adsorbierten Mischphase bestimmt und daraus die partielle Adsorption der Komponenten als Funktion des rel. Druckes bei verschiedener Zusammensetzungen der Gasphase.Für partielle Adsorption wurde auf der Grundlage eines vonHill entwickelten Ansatzes in Verbindung mit einer Gl. vonTheimer eine Formel aufgestellt, die die experimentellen Ergebnisse gut wiedergibt.Es werden Adsorptionswärmen für die verschiedenen Belegungsdichten in Abhängigkeit von der Zusammensetzung der Gasphase bestimmt.Mit 18 AbbildungenHerrn Prof.L.
