Noncontact all-optical measurement of corneal elasticity

We report on a noninvasive and noncontact all-optical method to measure the elasticity of the cornea. We use a pulsed laser to excite surface acoustic waves (SAW) that propagate on the corneal surface, then use a phase-sensitive optical coherence tomography system to remotely record the SAWs from which the corneal elasticity is estimated. In addition, the system is able to provide real-time tomographic images of the cornea being examined, an important consideration for clinical studies. While precisely maintaining a range of intraocular pressures (IOP), a series of measurements is performed on ex vivo intact primate eyes. The measurement results not only demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed system to remotely measure the corneal elasticity, but also suggest a strong correlation between the corneal stiffness and the true IOP.     

电流主动导引结构倒装AlGaInP LED

设计并制备了一种带有电流导引结构的新型倒装AlGaInP LED。实验结果表明,在20mA直流电流注入下,器件的电压为2.19V,输出光功率与普通倒装器件相比提高了17.33%。通过电流导引结构,使得器件注入电流被主动引导到电极以外部分,有效增大了上电极以外部分有源区中用于发光的有效载流子数目的比例,同时减轻了电流密度过大现象,大大提高了器件的出光效率。     

Biotransformation of gambogenic acid by Chaetomium globosum CICC 2445

Microbial transformation of gambogenic acid (1), a caged polyprenylated xanthone isolated from the resin of Garcinia hanburyi, was carried out with Chaetomium globosum CICC 2445, after screening forty-six strains of filamentous fungi. A new caged polyprenylated xanthone, 16,17-dihydroxygambogenic acid (2), was specifically obtained, as a result of hydroxylation at C-16, and C-17. Its structure was elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic methods. The cytotoxicity of compounds 1 and 2 against HeLa tumor cell line was evaluated, with both of them being modestly active.     

Three new biflavonoids from Chinese dragon's blood, Dracaena cochinchinensis

Three new biflavonoids, named (2RyS)-3'-methoxy-8-methylsocotrin-4'-ol (1), (2SyR)-3'-methoxy-8-methylsocotrin-4'-ol (2), and (2RyR)-8-methylsocotrin-4'-ol (3), were isolated from Chinese Dragon's blood [Dracaena cochinchinensis (Lour.) S. C. Chen], together with two known ones. The structures of these new biflavonoids were elucidated by a combination of HR-ESI-MS, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, HMQC, and HMBC spectra. The absolute configurations of compounds 1-4 were determined by quantum chemical calculation of the circular dichroism spectrum and comparison with the experimental CD spectrum.     

太阳能光伏热水系统的能量梯级利用

为了实现太阳能光伏发电系统中用于冷却太阳能电池的低品位热能利用,本文提出了太阳能光伏热水系统。通过对单体光伏光热系统(PV/T)的实验研究表明,在单体PV/T放置角度为30°,流量为200 L/h时,集热效率可达到最大值65.6%,系统的平均发电效率为14.3%,瞬时综合效率最大为83%,达到了能量的梯级利用。

A combinational logic gate based on fluorescent graphene oxide has been reported to discriminate Fe(3+), Fe(2+) and their mixture in living cells by fluorescence imaging.     

Pillar[5]arene-based polymeric architectures constructed by orthogonal supramolecular interactions

Ureidopyrimidinone functionalized pillar[5]arene (UPyP5) was synthesized and employed to complex with a bisparaquat derivative (G) to form supramolecular polymers at relatively high concentration. The orthogonal binding interactions including quadruple hydrogen bonding and host-guest interaction should play vital roles in the construction of this linear assembly.     

Effects of a natural prolyl oligopeptidase inhibitor, rosmarinic acid, on lipopolysaccharide-induced acute lung injury in mice

Rosmarinic acid (RA), a polyphenolic phytochemical, is a natural prolyl oligopeptidase inhibitor. In the present study, we found that RA exerted potent anti-inflammatory effects in in vivo models of acute lung injury (ALI) induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS). Mice were pretreated with RA one hour before challenge with a dose of 0.5 mg/kg LPS. Twenty-four hours after LPS was given, bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) was obtained to measure pro-inflammatory mediator and total cell counts. RA significantly decreased the production of LPS-induced TNF-a, IL-6, and IL-1β compare with the LPS group. When pretreated with RA (5, 10, or 20 mg/kg) the lung wet-to-dry weight (W/D) ratio of the lung tissue and the number of total cells, neutrophils and macrophages in the BALF were decreased significantly. Furthermore, RA may enhance oxidase dimutase (SOD) activity during the inflammatory response to LPS-induced ALI. And we further demonstrated that RA exerts anti-inflammation effect in vivo models of ALI through suppresses ERK/MAPK signaling in a dose dependent manner. These studies have important implications for RA administration as a potential treatment for ALI.     

Saponins with neuroprotective effects from the roots of Pulsatilla cernua

Four new oleanene-type triterpenoid saponins together with six known saponins were isolated from the roots of Pulsatilla cernua and their structures were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic data, including 2D NMR spectra and chemical evidence. Among these one of the aglycones (gypsogenin) is reported for the first time from this genus. Some of these compounds showed significant neuroprotective effects against the cytotoxicity induced by β-amyloid(25-35) (Aβ(25-35)) on human neuroblastoma SH-SY5Y cells.     

A novel antioxidant isobenzofuranone derivative from fungus Cephalosporium sp.AL031

Bioassay-guided fractionation of metabolites from the fungus Cephalosporium sp.AL031 isolated from Sinarundinaria nitida led to the discovery of a new isobenzofuranone derivative, 4,6-dihydroxy-5-methoxy-7-methylphthalide (1), together with three known compounds: 4,5,6-trihydroxy-7-methyl-1,3-dihydroisobenzofuran (2), 4,6-dihydroxy-5-methoxy-7-methyl-1,3-dihydroisobenzofuran (3) and 4,5,6-trihydroxy-7-methylphthalide (4). The structure of the new compound 1 was determined based on MS, 1D and 2D NMR spectral data. Compounds 1-4 showed potent antioxidant activity with EC?? values of 10, 7, 22 and 5 μM by 1,1-diphenyl-2-picryhydrazyl (DPPH) radical-scavenging assay.
