Order from Chaos: Self‐Assembly of Nanoprism from a Mixture of Tetratopic Terpyridine‐Porphyrin Conformers

Porphyrins have been widely used in the self‐assembly of metallo‐supramolecules. In this study, we introduced 2,2':6,2"‐terpyridine (tpy) into a porphyrin core to synthesize a tetratopic building block with multiple conformers. During the self‐assembly with Zn(II), such a mixture of conformers was able to form a discrete nanoprism with all building blocks in one conformation. Detailed characterizations, including NMR, ESI‐MS and traveling‐wave ion mobility‐mass spectrometry (TWIM‐MS), all supported the formation of the desired assemblies. AFM and TEM further confirmed the dimensions of assembled nanoprisms. Moreover, the photophysical properties of the ligands and complexes were noticeably different depending upon size and metal ion center.     

Hosoya polynomials of armchair open‐ended nanotubes

For a connected graph G we denote by d(G,k) the number of vertex pairs at distance k. The Hosoya polynomial of G is H(G,x) = ∑_k≥0 d(G,k)x^k. In this paper, analytical formulae for calculating the polynomials of armchair open‐ended nanotubes are given. Furthermore, the Wiener index, derived from the first derivative of the Hosoya polynomial in x = 1, and the hyper‐Wiener index, from one‐half of the second derivative of the Hosoya polynomial multiplied by x in x = 1, can be calculated. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 镓改性ZSM-5沸石中镓活性中心的形成与表征

采用脉冲微反体系研究了经不同程度还原和不同镓含量的GaZSM-5沸石的芳构化性能与吡啶吸附红外光谱特征谱带吸收度的关联，证实了1458 cm~(-1)吸收带的用于表征与Ga物种有关的活性中心，并研究了沸石的硅铝比对Ga中心形成和Ga的价态对芳构化性能的影响。结果表明，对Ga含量相同的样品来说，硅铝比愈低，起始Ga中心生成量愈多，高价态与低价态的Ga中心对丙烷芳构化反应都有促进作用。     

稀溶液中环型聚苯乙烯的激基缔合物荧光效应

采用乙酸乙酯为环型和线型聚苯乙烯的非良溶剂, 确定了Mark-Houwink方程分别为[η]_r=1.91×10~(-2)·M~(0.607)和[η]_l=4.06×10~(-2)·M~(0.572)。研究了环型和线型聚苯乙烯的激基缔合物的荧光效应。通过稀溶液中环型和线型高分子线团在柔顺性上存在着差异, 解释了二者之间在荧光效应方面的差异, 并根据实验结果,确定了(I_E/I_M)c→0～M关系式分别为(I_E/I_M)r,c→0=1.91+3.40×10~(-6)M和(I_E/I_M)l,c→0=2.15+3.05×10~(-6)M。     

Antitumor activity of Hypsizigus marmoreus. I. Antitumor activity of extracts and polysaccharides.

Antitumor activity of Hypsizigus marmoreus, one of the most popular Japanese edible mushrooms, was investigated. The aqueous and methanol extracts were tested against allogeneic tumor, solid sarcoma 180 and syngeneic tumor, Meth A fibrosarcoma. The aqueous extract was highly active in inhibiting growth of solid sarcoma 180, but not as much for Meth A fibrosarcoma. Fractionation of antitumor substances of the aqueous extract isolated four polysaccharides. Chemical analysis revealed one of them to be beta-(1-3)-glucan with a remarkable inhibitory effect against tumor-growth of sarcoma 180.     

Study of the reactions and reaction mechanisms of phosphine (Ph3P) and of phosphite ((PhO)3P) with sulphur (S8)

The reactions of sulphur with phosphine and phosphite were investigated by low-energy electron impact mass spectrometry and fast atom bombardment mass spectrometry. A previously reported mechanism of the Ph₃P–S₈ reaction was supported and a possible mechanism for the (PhO)₃P–S₈ reaction is proposed.     

叔醇脱水成烯反应的溶剂化能力与介电常数的关系

我们用Fe_2(SO_4)_3·xH_2O为催化剂,对2-甲基-2-已醇脱水生成烯烃反应的溶剂化能力及其动力学做了研究,测定了20种不同溶剂中的反应速率常数和以丙至辛6种直链醇为溶剂于不同温度下反应的速率常数,确定了溶剂化能力与溶剂介电常数之间的线性关系。这方面工作尚未见报道。     

ADSORPTION OF 4-METHYLANILINE IN AQUEOUS SOLUTION BY BENZOYL-CONTAINING POLYMERIC ADSORBENTS

New polymeric adsorbents (ZH-02, ZH-03) containing benzoyl group for adsorbing and removing 4-methylaniline from its aqueous solutions were prepared. Studies on the isotherms and the comparison of desorption conditions evidenced through the adsorption of 4-methylaniline in water onto ZH-02 and ZH-03, namely that there are chemisorption‘s transitions at a proper higher temperature. Mini-colunm adsorption studies of 4-methylaniline on XAD-4, ZH-02 and ZH-03 at 288 K show that the breakthrough capacities are 2.39, 2.99 and 3.19 mmol/g and the total capacities are 3.45, 3.92 and 4.35 mmol/g, respectively.     

Palladium-catalyzed tandem cyclization/Suzuki coupling of 1,6-enynes: reaction scope and mechanism

A palldium(0)-catalyzed tandem cyclization/Suzuki coupling reaction of various 1,6-enyne substrates was developed. This Pd-catalyzed enyne cyclization reaction represents a new process for the synthesis of stereodefined alpha-arylmethylene-gamma-butyrolactones, lactams, multifunctional tetrahydrofurans, pyrrolidines, and cyclopentanes. The mechanism of the reaction was studied by the employment of different enyne isomers and boronic acids; a pi-allyl palladium intermediate was suggested to explain the formation of the cyclic products. The stereochemistry of this reaction can be well explained by a chairlike transition state.     

Acetic acid induced self-assembly of supramolecular compounds [Et4N]3[(WS4Cu2)2(mu-CN)3].2MeCN and [PPh4][WS4Cu3(mu-CN)2].MeCN from preformed clusters [A]2[WS4(CuCN)2] (A = Et4N, PPh4)

Reactions of two preformed trinuclear W/Cu/S clusters, [A](2)[WS(4)(CuCN)(2)] (1: A = Et(4)N; 2: A = PPh(4)), with different concentrations of acetic acid in MeCN generate two interesting 2D polymeric clusters [Et(4)N](3)[(WS(4)Cu(2))(2)(mu-CN)(3)].2MeCN (3), and [PPh(4)][WS(4)Cu(3)(mu-CN)(2)].MeCN (4), respectively. Compound 4 can also be readily obtained in a high yield from the reaction of 2 with equimolar [Cu(MeCN)(4)]PF(6) in MeCN. These compounds have been characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra, thermal analysis, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. An X-ray analysis reveals that compound 3 retains the WS(4)Cu(2) cluster core, which serves as a 3-connecting node to link equivalent nodes via single cyanide bridges, forming an anionic 2D (6,3) net. Compound 4 consists of a T-shaped WS(4)Cu(3) core, which also acts as a 3-connecting node, with links to 3 equivalent clusters either through single or double cyanide bridges, affording a different anionic 2D (6,3) network. The acetic acid induced aggregation of 3 and 4 from the two cluster precursors 1 and 2 suggests that this simple synthetic strategy is likely to be applicable to many related systems.
