Van der waals waves in free-surface liquids

It is shown that, along with gravity waves, surface and internal waves caused by van der Waals forces may exist in a liquid with a horizontal free surface. A dispersion relation is found by using the stepwise approximation for the coefficients of a wave equation derived for these waves. The surface waves are similar to surface gravity waves in dispersion and amplitude distribution but differ in frequency by several orders of magnitude. Another sequence of roots in the spectrum corresponds to internal van der Waals waves that have an upper frequency bound and the dispersion law typical of a multimode waveguide.

Controlled/living polymerization of 2‐(diethylamino)ethyl methacrylate and its block copolymer with tert‐butyl methacrylate by atom transfer radical polymerization

Polymerization of 2‐(diethylamino)ethyl methacrylate (DEAEMA) via homogeneous atom transfer radical polymerization under various reaction conditions is described. The effects of the initiators and solvents were examined. With 1,1,4,7,10,10‐hexamethyl triethylenetetramine/copper(I) chloride/p‐toluenesulfonyl chloride as the ligand/catalyst/initiator system in methanol, poly(DEAEMA) with a polydispersity index as low as 1.07 was synthesized. Kinetic studies demonstrated the polymerization was very well controlled and exhibited the living characteristic of the process. Well‐defined block copolymers of DEAEMA and tert‐butyl methacrylate (tBMA) were successfully synthesized. The copolymers could be synthesized with equally good results by starting with either p(DEAEMA) or p(tBMA) as the macroinitiators. However, only the macroinitiators terminated with chlorine should be used. D-N交替法与Schwartz交替法的收敛关系分析

This paper has demonstrated that the Schwartz alternating process must converge if D-N alternating process has converged. Its technique is that the overlapping regions in Schwartz alternating process are considered as independent domains, then Schwartz alternating process could be transformed into D-N alter-nating process. Finally the convergence estimation of Schwartz alternating process could be obtained. The results show that its convergence rate is same as that of D-N alternating process.     

High power diode single-end-pumped Nd:YVO4 laser

A fiber-coupled diode-single-end-pumped Nd:YVO₄ laser with an Nd:YVO₄ crystal of 0.3 at% doping concentration and 3×3×10 mm³ dimensions was reported. 14.850 W of continuous-wave output power in an M² factor of 1.12 was obtained under pump power of 27.365 W, with an optical conversion efficiency of 60.49%, and a slope efficiency of 64.5%.

构造了第孙中禹种强度不等的非对称三态叠加多模叠加态光场|ψ₁^(ABC)〉_q.利用多模压缩态理论研究了态|ψ₁^(ABC)〉_q第一正交分量高次和压缩.结果发现:①当构成态|ψ₁^(ABC)〉_q的三个多模相干态光场的强度不相等时,在一定条件下,态|ψ₁^(ABC)〉_q的第一正交分量可出现任意幂次的高次和压缩.②当上述的三个多模相干态光场强度相等时,态|ψ₁^(ABC)〉_q的第一正交分量的高次和压缩现象消失.在这种情况下,态|ψ₁^(ABC)〉_q的第一正交分量恒处于NH最小测不准态.     

Multilayer optics for XUV spectral region: technology fabrication and applications

We present research investigations in the field of multilayer optics in X-ray and extreme ultra-violet ranges (XUV), aimed at the development of optical elements for applications in experiments in physics and in scientific instrumentation. We discuss normal incidence multilayer optics in the spectral region of “water window”, multilayer optics for collimation and focusing of hard X-ray, multilayer dispersing elements for X-ray spectroscopy of high-temperature plasma, multilayer dispersing elements for analysis of low Z-elements. Our research pays special attention to optimization of multilayer optics for projection EUV-lithography (ψ-13nm) and short period multilayer optics.     

On separation of gradient Young measures

Let be a linear subspace of real matrices without rank-one matrices and let be a finite set. Boundary value problems for first order impulsive delay differential equations with a parameter

In this paper, by means of the method of upper and lower solutions and monotone iterative technique, the existence of maximal and minimal solutions of the boundary value problems for first order impulsive delay differential equations is established.
