Conclusions We have analyzed coupling properties of the coupled microstrip lines whose substrate contain electron-hole plasma by means of the spectral domain method. Scattering parameters in each ports have been evaluated numerically as a function of plasma density.Experiments were carried out using high resistivity silicon and LEDs. The agreement of the theoretical and experimental results was satisfactory. The plasma density observed in the experiments is one-third as large as the theoretically estimated value.  相似文献

One immediate cellular response to DNA damage is the polyADP-ribosylation reaction by poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase-1 (Parp-1). The importance of Parp-1 has been established in many cellular processes, such as the maintenance of genomic stability, DNA repair and cell-death induction. Here, we established Parp-1−/− mice of C57BL/6J congenic strain and characterized the role of Parp-1 in cell-cycle progression. In this study, we also improved a method to observe G0/G1 to S-phase transition of splenocytes and bone marrow cells prepared from mice. The cells were cultured and stimulated with mitogens (50 μM ionomycin/1 μM phorbol 12, 13-dibutyrate). We found that addition of a commercially available growth supportive reagent, BM Condimed RH1, greatly enhanced the transition of G0/G1 to the S-phase, which was determined by bromodeoxyuridine (BrdU) incorporation to DNA. Using this method, G0/G1 to the S-phase entry was measured using splenocytes derived from Parp-1−/−, Parp-1+/− and wild-type (Parp-1+/+) mice. DNA synthesis in Parp-1+/+ and Parp-1+/− splenocytes started from day 1 after addition of mitogens, whereas that in Parp-1−/− cells started from day 2. The peak of the S-phase was at day 2 in all genotypes and notably DNA synthesis in Parp-1−/− cells was approximately halved compared to Parp-1+/+ cells on day 2, 3 and 4. These results suggested that Parp-1 is involved in positive regulation of S-phase entry in quiescent mouse splenocytes.  相似文献

The coefficient of normal restitution in an oblique impact is theoretically studied. Using a two-dimensional lattice model for an elastic disk and an elastic wall, we demonstrate that the coefficient of normal restitution can exceed unity and has a peak against the incident angle in our simulation. A fluorophotometric method for the determination of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) using fluorescin was developed. This method was based on the oxidative reaction of fluorescin, a colorless, non-fluorescent lactoid fluorescein, by H2O2 to give highly fluorescein fluorescence emission. In the determination of H2O2, the calibration curve exhibited linearity over the H2O2 concentration range of 1.5–310 ng mL−1 at an emission wavelength of 525 nm with an excitation of 500 nm and with relative standard deviations (n = 6) of 2.51%, 2.48%, and 1.31% for 3.1 ng mL−1, 30.8 ng mL−1, and for 308 ng mL−1 of H2O2, respectively. The detection limit for H2O2 was 1.9 ng mL−1 six blank determinations was performed (ρ = 6). This proposed method was applied to detection of other reactive oxygen species and nitrogen species (ROS/RNS) such as singlet oxygen (1O2), hydroxyl radical (OH), peroxynitrite (ONOO) etc., and it was possible to detect them with a high sensitivity. In addition, this proposed method was applied to the recovery tests of H2O2 in calf serum, human saliva, rain water, and wheat noodles; the results were satisfactory.  相似文献

Background and Purpose

Influenza viral infection, which results in central nervous system dysfunction, is a major cause of acute encephalopathy (AE). The purpose of this study was to investigate the changes in the concentrations of brain metabolites in children with AE using single-voxel magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) and to provide diagnostic information about the relationship between the symptoms of AE and metabolite concentrations.

Materials and Methods

The subjects were 10 children (mean age: 6.2 years; range: 1–13) with AE caused by the novel influenza A virus responsible for the 2009 influenza pandemic. The serial MRS data (TE/TR=30/5000 ms, 3 T) acquired from the basal ganglia (BG) and centrum semiovale (CS) of each patient were categorized into three periods: (1) initial neurological symptom presentation and the start of treatment (n= 10), (2) short-term follow-up (n= 9) and (3) long-term follow-up (n= 3). As controls, the magnetic resonance (MR) spectra of eight age-matched children were also investigated.

Results

In both regions, the concentrations of the major metabolites (N-acetylaspartate, creatine, choline, myo-inositol, glutamate/glutamine complex and glutamate) only showed minor fluctuations between the three periods. On the other hand, higher levels of taurine (Tau) were observed in the BG during the second period (P=.005), and increased levels of glucose were observed in the CS during the first (P=.005) and second (P=.036) periods.

Conclusions

Serial monitoring of brain metabolite changes was carried out with a clinical MR system. The concentrations of major metabolites only displayed very minor fluctuations in response to mild H1N1-related AE. However, a higher Tau concentration was found to be associated with neurological symptoms. Further studies are required to improve our understanding of the detailed activity of Tau in AE.  相似文献

The synthesis of Al–Cr single quasicrystal (QC) nanoparticles of the decagonal phase was achieved by introducing an advanced gas flow evaporation method. By obtaining successive electron diffraction patterns for single-QC nanoparticles, the phase transformation temperature of a single-QC nanoparticle was determined to be 700 °C. It was also determined that part of the QC nanoparticle decomposed into hex-Al8Cr5 and Al during the phase transformation. Since the grain growth did not occur during the phase transformation in the present experiment, the inherent phase transformation temperature could be measured.  相似文献

A rotationally resolved ultrahigh-resolution fluorescence excitation spectrum of the S1 ← S0 transition of perylene has been observed using a collimated supersonic jet technique in conjunction with a single-mode UV laser. We assigned 1568 rotational lines of the band, and accurately determined the rotational constants. The obtained value of inertial defect was positive, accordingly, the perylene molecule is considered to be planar with D2h symmetry. We determined the geometrical structure in the S0 state by ab initio theoretical calculation at the RHF/6-311+G(d,p) level, which yielded rotational constant values approximately identical to those obtained experimentally. Zeeman broadening of each rotational line with the external magnetic field was negligibly small, and the mixing with the triplet state was shown to be very small. This evidence indicates that intersystem crossing (ISC) in the S11B2u state is very slow. The rate of internal conversion (IC) is also inferred to be small because the fluorescence quantum yield is high. The rotational constants of the S11B2u state were very similar to those of the S01Ag state. The slow internal conversion (IC) at the S1 zero-vibrational level is attributed to a small structural change upon electronic transition.  相似文献

Purpose

To examine the effect of visual target blurring on accommodation.

Methods

We evaluated the objective refraction values when the visual target (asterisk; 8°) was changed from the state without Gaussian blur (15 s) to the state with Gaussian blur adapted [0(without blur)?→?10, 0?→?50, 0?→?100: 15 s each].

Results

In Gaussian blur 10, when blurring of the target occurred, refraction value did not change significantly. In Gaussian blur 50 and 100, when blurring of the target occurred, the refraction value became significantly myopic.

Conclusion

Blurring of the distant visual target results in intervention of accommodation.

The Wakimoto construction for the quantum affine algebra U $_q$ ( $(\widehat{\mathfrak{s}\mathfrak{l}_2 })$ ) admits a reduction to the q-deformed parafermion algebras. We interpret the latter theory as a free field realization of the Andrews–Baxter–Forrester models in regime II. We give multi-particle form factors of some local operators on the lattice and compute their scaling limit, where the models are described by a massive field theory with $\mathbb{Z}$ $_k$ symmetric minimal scattering matrices.  相似文献
