The interaction of atomic H with Ag(1 1 1)/Si(1 1 1)7 × 7 surfaces was studied by thermal desorption (TD) spectroscopy and scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) at room temperature. TD spectroscopy revealed an intense peak from mono H–Si bonds, even though the Si surface was covered by the Ag atoms. This peak was not observed from Ag-coated SiO2/Si substrates. STM observation showed no clear change of the Ag surface morphology resulting from H exposure. All these results indicate that the atomic H adsorbs at neither the Ag surfaces nor Ag bulk sites, but at the Ag/Si interface by diffusing through the Ag film. 相似文献

A novel desalting method, using a column switching technique and a volatile ion-pairing reagent, pentadecafluorooctanoic acid, was developed. This system allows hydrophilic and cationic compounds in a nonvolatile buffer to be directly introduced into a mass spectrometer for structural elucidation. The desalting procedure consists of four steps: (1) the fractionation of a target compound from a separation column, (2) the removal of salts with pentadecafluorooctanoic acid on the trap column, (3) the desorption of the compound from the trap column, and (4) the re-equilibration of the trap column with a pentadecafluorooctanoic acid solution. In this procedure, we investigated the methods for optimizing the desalting and re-equilibration steps. Various amino acids, including branched chain amino acids, aromatic amino acids, basic amino acids and methionine, after separation with phosphate buffer on a cation-exchange column, were successively desalted by this method, and were observed as protonated ions by mass spectrometry. This desalting system could be useful for the structural elucidation of unknown hydrophilic compounds eluted by conventional high-performance liquid chromatography methods, such as ion-exchange chromatography, with mobile phases containing nonvolatile salts. The N2(+) states lying in the ionization region of 26-45 eV and the dissociation dynamics are investigated by high-resolution threshold photoelectron spectroscopy and threshold photoelectron-photoion coincidence spectroscopy. The threshold photoelectron spectrum exhibits several broad bands as well as sharp peaks. The band features are assigned to the N2(+) states associated with the removal of an inner-valence electron, by a comparison with a configuration interaction calculation. In contrast, most of the sharp peaks on the threshold photoelectron spectrum are allocated to ionic Rydberg states converging to N2(2+). Dissociation products formed from the inner-valence N2(+) states are determined by threshold photoelectron-photoion coincidence spectroscopy. The dissociation dynamics of the inner-valence ionic states is discussed with reference to the potential energy curves calculated. 相似文献

We developed a sensitive analytical method and an efficient clean-up method to quantify 3,6-dinitrobenzo[e]pyrene (3,6-DNBeP) in surface soil and airborne particles. After purification using a silica gel column and two reversed-phase columns, 3,6-DNBeP was reduced to 3,6-diaminobenzo[e]pyrene by a catalyst column and analyzed by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with a fluorescence detector. 3,6-DNBeP was detected in all of the soil samples and airborne particles examined. The concentration of 3,6-DNBeP in surface soil and airborne particles was determined in the ranges of 347-5007 pg/g of soil and 137-1238 fg/m3, respectively. 相似文献

A series of [Tm(Me)M(mu-Cl)]2 and Tm(R)MCl (Tm(R) = tris(mercaptoimidazolyl)borate; R = Me, tBu, Ph, 2,6-iPr2C6H3 (Ar); M = Mn, Fe, Co, Ni) complexes have been prepared by treatment of NaTm(Me) or LiTm(R) with an excess amount of metal(II) chlorides, MCl2. Treatment of Tm(R)MCl (R = tBu, Ph, Ar) with NaI led to a halide exchange to afford Tm(R)MI. The molecular structures of [Tm(Me)M(mu-Cl)]2 (M = Mn, Ni), [Tm(Me)Ni(mu-Br)]2, Tm(tBu)MCl (M = Fe, Co), Tm(Ph)MCl (M = Mn, Fe, Co, Ni), Tm(Ar)MCl (M = Mn, Fe, Co, Ni), Tm(Ph)MI (M = Mn, Co), and Tm(Ar)MI (M = Fe, Co, Ni) have been determined by X-ray crystallography. The Tm(R) ligands occupy the tripodal coordination site of the metal ions, giving a square pyramidal or trigonal bipyramidal coordination geometry for Tm(Me)M(mu-Cl)]2 and a tetrahedral geometry for the Tm(R)MCl complexes, where the S-M-S bite angles are larger than the reported N-M-N angles of the corresponding hydrotris(pyrazolyl)borate (Tp(R)) complexes. Treatment of Tm(Ph)2Fe with excess FeCl2 affords Tm(Ph)FeCl, indicating that Tm(R)2M as well as Tm(R)MCl is formed at the initial stage of the reaction between MCl2 and the Tm(R) anion. 相似文献

The mechanism by which UV-C irradiation inactivates M13 bacteriophage was studied by analyzing the M13 genome using agarose gel electrophoresis and South-Western blotting for pyrimidine dimers. The involvement of singlet oxygen (1O2) was also investigated using azide and deuterium oxide and under deoxygenated conditions. With a decrease in M13 infectivity on irradiation, single-stranded circular genomic DNA (sc-DNA) was converted to Form I and Form II, which had an electrophoretic mobility between that of sc-DNA and linear-form DNA. However, the amount of sc-DNA remaining was not correlated with the survival of M13. The formation of cyclobutane pyrimidine dimers (CPD) and pyrimidine (6-4) pyrimidone photoproducts ((6-4)PP) increased as a function of irradiation dose. The decrease in M13 infectivity was highly correlated with the increase in CPD and (6-4)PP, whereas no change was seen in M13 coat protein on sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. 8-Oxo-7,8-dihydro-2'-deoxyguanosine did not form in the M13 genome after UV-C irradiation. Inactivation of M13 was neither enhanced by deuterium oxide nor inhibited by azide. Deoxygenation of the M13 suspension did not affect the inactivation, indicating that 1O2 did not participate in the inactivation of M13 by UV-C irradiation under these conditions. These results indicated that UV-C irradiation induced not only CPD and (6-4)PP formation but also additional tertiary structural change in DNA inside the M13 virions, resulting in primary damage and a loss of infectivity. The indirect effect of UV-C irradiation such as 1O2 production followed by oxidative damage to nucleic acids and proteins might have contributed less, if at all, to the inactivation of M13 than the direct effect of UV-C. 相似文献

The construction of self-organized adlayers of dibenzo-18-crown-6 and its inclusion complex with potassium ion on a Au(111) surface was independently achieved by potential-controlled adsorption. Highly-ordered adlayers both for the metal-free state and the complex were visualized by in-situ STM with sub-molecular visualization.
