Sisal fiber-reinforced poly(lactic acid) (SF/PLA) biocomposites were prepared by melt mixing and subsequent compression molding. The effect of fiber content and sodium hydroxide (NaOH) concentration, used for the fiber mercerization, on the properties of the biocomposites was investigated. It was found that the SFs had a large potential for improving the mechanical properties of the biocomposites. The tensile strength and impact strength increased linearly up to a fiber content of 20%, and then decreased due to the fiber agglomeration. The water absorption was enhanced with increasing the SF content owing to the SFs containing an abundance of hydroxyl groups. The biodegradability of the SF/PLA biocomposites increased similarly. Furthermore, the mercerization led to an increase of the mechanical properties of the biocomposites, which normally depended on the fiber-matrix adhesion. The mercerization had competing effects on the water absorption and biodegradability, including not only the positive function of the improved hydrophilicity of the mercerized-SF but also the negative role of the increase of fiber-matrix interfacial adhesion. Overall, the optimum SF load for mechanical properties was 20?wt% due to a good balance between the reinforcement and distribution of the SFs, whereas the 6% NaOH concentration was optimal owing to the resulting fibers yielding the highest mechanical properties and acceptable water resistance and biodegradability.  相似文献

In this work, a set of amide-based compounds, L1-L3, have been studied. These compounds are decorated with various H-bonding functional groups while the presence of aromatic rings not only promote π?π stacking but also made these molecules electron-rich. All three compounds were utilized for the sensing of electron-deficient nitro-explosives. These compounds were found to be highly selective for the nanomolar sensing of picric acid (PA). Out of three compounds, L3 acted as a low-molecular-weight-gelator and formed a more stable and stronger gel in the presence of PA. The resultant [email protected]L3?gel was studied by the SEM, powder XRD and rheological techniques while further supported by the molecular docking studies. These results illustrate that doping of L3 with PA not only enhances several noteworthy interaction avenues but also the stability of the resultant [email protected]L3?gel when compared to L3?gel.  相似文献

In the presence of Cs2CO3, the first simple, efficient, and one-pot procedure for the synthesis of 3,5-diaryl pyridines via a variety of aromatic terminal alkynes with benzamides as the nitrogen source in sulfolane is described. The formation of pyridine derivatives accompanies the outcome of 1,3-diaryl propenes, which are also useful intermediates in organic synthesis. Thus, pyridine ring results from a formal [2+2+1+1] cyclocondensation of three alkynes with benzamides, and one of the alkynes provides one carbon, whilst benzamides provide a nitrogen source only. A new transformation of alkynes as well as new utility of benzamide are found in this work.  相似文献

Stevia rebaudiana is an important medicinal plant that belongs to the Asteraceae family. The leaves of Stevia rebaudiana are a rich source of many health-promoting agents such as polyphenols, flavonoids, and steviol glycoside, which play a key role in controlling obesity and diabetes. New strategies such as the elicitation of culture media are needed to enhance the productivity of active components. Herein, the Cuscuta reflexa extracts were exploited as elicitors to enhance the productivity of active components. Cuscuta reflexa is one of the parasitic plants that has the ability to elongate very fast and cover the host plant. Consequently, it may be possible that the addition of Cuscuta reflexa extracts to adventitious root cultures (ADR) of Stevia rebaudiana may elongate the root more than control cultures to produce higher quantities of the desired secondary metabolites. Therefore, the main objective of the current study was to investigate the effect of Cuscuta reflexa extract as a biotic elicitor on the biomass accumulation and production of antioxidant secondary metabolite in submerged adventitious root cultures of Stevia rebaudiana. Ten different concentrations of Cuscuta reflexa were added to liquid media containing 0.5 mg/L naphthalene acetic acid (NAA). The growth kinetics of adventitious roots was investigated for a period of 49 days with an interval of 7 days. The maximum biomass accumulation (7.83 g/3 flasks) was observed on medium containing 10 mg/L extract of Cuscuta reflexa on day 49. As the concentration of extract increases in the culture media, the biomass gradually decreases after 49 days of inoculation. In this study, the higher total phenolics content (0.31 mg GAE/g-DW), total flavonoids content (0.22 mg QE/g-DW), and antioxidant activity (85.54%) were observed in 100 mg/L treated cultures. The higher concentration (100 mg/L) of Cuscuta reflexa extract considerably increased the total phenolics content (TPC), total phenolics production (TPP), total flavonoids content (TFC), total flavonoids production (TFP), total polyphenolics content (TPPC), and total polyphenolics production (TPPP). It was concluded that the extract of Cuscuta reflexa moderately improved biomass accumulation but enhanced the synthesis of phenolics, flavonoids, and antioxidant activities. Here, biomass’s independent production of secondary metabolites was observed with the addition of extract. The present study will be helpful to scale up adventitious roots culture into a bioreactor for the production of secondary metabolites rather than biomass accumulation in medicinally important Stevia rebaudiana.  相似文献

Whereas Lie had linearized scalar second order ordinary differential equations (ODEs) by point transformations, and later Chern had extended to the third order by using contact transformation, till recently no work had been done for higher order (or systems) of ODEs. Lie had found a unique class defined by the number of infinitesimal symmetry generators but the more general ODEs were not so classified. Recently, classifications of higher order and systems of ODEs were provided. In this paper we relate contact symmetries of scalar ODEs with point symmetries of reduced systems. We define a new type of transformation that builds upon this relation and obtain equivalence classes of scalar third order ODEs linearizable via these transformations. A reliable in vitro regeneration system for the economical and medicinally important Piper nigrum L. has been established. Callus and shoot regeneration was encouraged from leaf portions on Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium augmented with varied concentrations of plant growth regulators. A higher callus production (90 %) was observed in explants incubated on MS medium incorporated with 1.0 mg?L?1 6-benzyladenine (BA) along with 0.5 mg?L?1 gibberellic acid after 4 weeks of culture. Moreover, a callogenic response of 85 % was also recorded for 1.0 mg?L?1 BA in combination with 0.25 mg?L?1 α-naphthalene acetic acid (NAA) and 0.25 mg?L?1 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid or 0.5 mg?L?1 indole butyric acid (IBA) along with 0.25 mg?L?1 NAA and indole acetic acid. Subsequent sub-culturing of callus after 4 weeks of culture onto MS medium supplemented with 1.5 mg?L?1 thiodiazoran or 1.5 mg?L?1 IBA induced 100 % shoot response. Rooted plantlets were achieved on medium containing varied concentrations of auxins. The antioxidative enzyme activities [superoxide dismutase (SOD), peroxidase (POD), catalase (CAT), and ascorbate peroxidase (APX)] revealed that significantly higher SOD was observed in regenerated plantlets than in other tissues. However, POD, CAT, and APX were higher in callus than in other tissues. A high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) fingerprint analysis protocol was established for quality control in different in vitro-regenerated tissues of P. nigrum L. During analysis, most of the common peaks represent the active principle “piperine.” The chemical contents, especially piperine, showed variation from callus culture to whole plantlet regeneration. Based on the deviation in chromatographic peaks, the in vitro-regenerated plantlets exhibit a nearly similar piperine profile to acclimated plantlets. The in vitro regeneration system and HPLC fingerprint analysis established here brought a novel approach to the quality control of in vitro plantlets, producing metabolites of interest with substantial applications for the conservation of germplasm.  相似文献
