Because of the spin and Dirac-valley degrees of freedom, graphene allows the observation of one-, two- or four-component fractional quantum Hall effects in different parameter regions. We address the stability of various states in the SU(2) and SU(4) limits. In the SU(4) limit, we predict that new low-energy Goldstone modes determine the stability of the fractional quantum Hall states at 2/5, 3/7, etc; SU(4) skyrmions are not found to be relevant for the low-energy physics. These results are discussed in light of experiments.  相似文献

Novel Supramolecular fluorescence receptor derived from calix-system i.e. calix[4]resorcinarene bearing dansylchloride as fluorophore was designed and synthesized. The compound was purified by column chromatography and characterized by elemental analysis, NMR and Mass spectroscopy. Tetradansylated calix[4] resorcinarene (TDCR) shows a boat conformation with C2v symmetry. The complexation behaviour of metal cations [Ag(I), Cd(II), Co(II), Fe(III), Hg(II), Cu(II), Pb(II), Zn(II), U(VI) (1?×?10-4?M)] with tetra dansylated calix[4]resorcinarene (1?×?10-6?M) was studied by spectophotometry and spectrofluorometry. Red shift in the absorption spectra led us to conclude that there is strong complexation Fe(III), Co(II) and Cu(II) with TDCR. These metal cations also produce quenching with red shifts in the emission spectra. The maximum quenching in emission intensity was observed in the case of Fe(III) and its binding constant was also found to be significantly higher than that of Co(II) and Cu(II). Quantum yield of metal complexes of Fe(III) was found to be lower in comparison with Co(II) and Cu(II) complexes. Stern Volmer analysis indicates that the mechanism of fluorescence quenching is either purely dynamic, or purely static.  相似文献

The deformed mean field of nuclei exhibits various geometrical and dynamical symmetries which manifest themselves as various types of rotational and decay patterns. Most of the symmetry operations considered so far have been defined for a situation wherein the angular momentum coincides with one of the principal axes and the principal axis cranking may be invoked. New possibilities arise with the observation of rotational features in weakly deformed nuclei and now interpreted as magnetic rotational bands. More than 120 MR bands have now been identified by filtering the existing data. We present a brief overview of these bands. The total angular momentum vector in such bands is tilted away from the principal axes. Such a situation gives rise to several new possibilities including breaking of chiral symmetry as discussed recently by Frauendorf. We present the outcome of such symmetries and their possible experimental verification. Some possible examples of chiral bands are presented.  相似文献

Stochastic temporal and spatiotemporal models of metastable pitting on a metal surface are presented. A stochastic reaction-diffusion model accounts for the effects of local changes in concentration, potential drop, and oxide film damage on the nucleation of subsequent events. The cooperative interactions among events can lead to the formation of clusters of metastable pits and to an explosive growth in the total number of pits. Recent progress in the studies of such phenomena is reviewed. New results based on a mean-field analysis of the model and numerical simulations on critical nucleation effects are reported.  相似文献

Recently, Nakashima and Sousa have reported2 a scheme for the generation of laser3 pulses consisting of several wavelengths in the visible, which are rather widely separated spectrally, but ovelap spatially and temporally4. In their scheme (ref. 2), several cells-each containing a distinct dye solution - were placed in tandem and were pumped from one side with a focussed N2 laser (337.1 nm) beam. Under these conditions each dye solution lased in its distinct wavelength and, by careful alighment of the dye cells, the emissions could be spatially superimosed to produce a single multi-wavelength laser pulse.  相似文献

Strong intensity enhancement or extinction of some single harmonics is observed in high-harmonic generation from 48 fs Ti:sapphire laser pulses propagating through preformed low-excited laser-produced plasmas of various materials (GaAs, Cr, InSb, stainless steel). The intensities of some of the harmonics in the mid- and end-plateau regions vary from ~23-fold enhancement to near disappearance compared with those of the neighboring ones. It is also shown that the observed intensity enhancement (or extinction) can be varied by controlling the chirp of the driving laser radiation.  相似文献
