Novel oxovanadium(IV)–bisoxazoline catalysts, such as vanadyl sulfate (VOSO4)–(R)‐2,2′‐isopropylidenebis(4‐phenyl‐2‐oxazoline) [(R)Phbox], for the asymmetric oxidative coupling polymerization (AOCP) of 2,3‐dihydroxynaphthalene were developed. For example, the AOCP with VOSO4–(R)Phbox in CH2Cl2–MeOH [7/1 (v/v)] at room temperature for 24 h under an O2 atmosphere, followed by acetylation of the hydroxyl groups, afforded a polymer in a 58% yield with a specific rotation of [α]D = ?147. The enantioselectivity during the polymerization was estimated to be 80% enantiomeric excess (S), a value much higher than that observed for the polymerizations with the copper(I)‐based catalyst systems and the typical oxovanadium(IV) catalysts reported for the asymmetric oxidative coupling producing the 1,1′‐bi‐2‐naphthol derivatives. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc., Inc. Polyethylene‐block‐poly(methyl methacrylate) (PE‐b‐PMMA) was successfully synthesized through the combination of metallocene catalysis with living radical polymerization. Terminally hydroxylated polyethylene, prepared by ethylene/allyl alcohol copolymerization with a specific zirconium metallocene/methylaluminoxane/triethylaluminum catalyst system, was treated with 2‐bromoisobutyryl bromide to produce terminally esterified polyethylene (PE‐Br). With the resulting PE‐Br as an initiator for transition‐metal‐mediated living radical polymerization, methyl methacrylate polymerization was subsequently performed with CuBr or RuCl2(PPh3)3 as a catalyst. Then, PE‐b‐PMMA block copolymers of different poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) contents were prepared. Transmission electron microscopy of the obtained block copolymers revealed unique morphological features that depended on the content of the PMMA segment. The block copolymer possessing 75 wt % PMMA contained 50–100‐nm spherical polyethylene lamellae uniformly dispersed in the PMMA matrix. Moreover, the PE‐b‐PMMA block copolymers effectively compatibilized homopolyethylene and homo‐PMMA at a nanometer level. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Various methods have been used to obtain accurate cross-sectional profiles of Hg1-xCdxTe devices after etching. Preliminary measurements from different etching techniques are also presented. Techniques used were scanning electron microscopy with stereo pairs and cleaved cross-sections, topography SEM (multiple detector SEM) and atomic force microscopy.  相似文献

In the presence of 10 mol % Cp*Ru(cod)Cl, 1,6-diynes with a tertiary center at 4-position reacted with various isothiocyanates at their C=S double bond to afford bicyclic (2H)-thiopyranimines in 35-88% yields. The (2H)-thiopyran structure was unequivocally determined by X-ray analysis. The cycloaddition of carbon disulfide with a diyne similarly gave the expected bicyclic dithiopyrone in 50% yield.  相似文献

Penitrem A is one of the most elaborated members of the fungal indole diterpenes. Two separate penitrem gene clusters were identified using genomic and RNA sequencing data, and 13 out of 17 transformations in the penitrem biosynthesis were elucidated by heterologous reconstitution of the relevant genes. These reactions involve 1) a prenylation‐initiated cationic cyclization to install the bicyclo[3.2.0]heptane skeleton (PtmE), 2) a two‐step P450‐catalyzed oxidative processes forming the unique tricyclic penitrem skeleton (PtmK and PtmU), and 3) five sequential oxidative transformations (PtmKULNJ). Importantly, without conventional gene disruption, reconstitution of the biosynthetic machinery provided sufficient data to determine the pathway. It was thus demonstrated that the Aspergillus oryzae reconstitution system is a powerful method for studying the biosynthesis of complex natural products.  相似文献

The 4‐methoxyquinoline‐2‐carbohydrazide 6b was also transformed into 1‐aryl‐3‐(4‐methoxyquinolin‐2‐yl)ureas 11a , 11b , 11c , 11d , 1‐aryl‐3‐(4‐methoxyquinolin‐2‐yl)imidazolidine‐2,4‐diones 12a , 12b , and N‐(4‐methoxyquinolin‐2‐yl)carbamates 13a , 13b via 4‐methoxyquinoline‐2‐carbonylazide 7b . Some of the 1‐aryl‐3‐(4‐quinolon‐2‐yl)ureas 5a , 5b , 5c , 5d , 5e showed the in vitro antimalarial activity to chloroquine‐resistant Plasmodium falciparum, wherein IC50 was 0.93 to 4.00 μM.  相似文献

A novel strategy is demonstrated to improve the accuracy for determination of polyethylene (PE) density using Raman spectroscopy by optimizing the temperature of sample measurement. Spectral features associated with the conformation change of the polymer induced by temperature may provide valuable information to quantify important polymer properties such as density. To evaluate possible existence of an optimal temperature providing improved quantitative accuracy, Raman spectra of PE pellets with different densities were collected at eight different temperatures from 30 to 100 °C at 10 °C intervals. Using the spectral datasets collected at each temperature, partial least squares (PLS) models were developed using the reference PE density values determined by a standard density gradient method at 23 °C. Interestingly, the most accurate determination of density was realized at 70 °C. Multiple perturbation two-dimensional (MP2D) correlation analysis and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) were used to examine the origin of improved accuracy at 70 °C. From these analyses, the pre-melt behavior of the PE samples was identified below their melting temperatures. Structural variations induced at the pre-melt stages enhance Raman spectral selectivity among the samples, thereby providing more accurate determination of PE density. The MP2D correlation analysis revealed the unforeseen thermal behavior of PE samples and successfully explained the improved accuracy at 70 °C.  相似文献

Pt(II)-catalyzed generation of unsaturated carbene complex intermediates from various propargyl ether derivatives based on electrophilic activation of alkynes was realized. These in situ generated unsaturated carbene complexes undergo [3+2] cycloaddition reaction with various vinyl ethers, leading to efficient formation of indoles, naphthols, and benzofuran fused with a five-membered ring in high yields.  相似文献

Phase behaviors of the binary mixtures composed of ethylene carbonate (EC) and aliphatic alcohols, ω-phenyl alcohols, and alkylbenzenes were investigated. In addition, heat of solution of EC into these organic solvents was measured. The EC/methanol and EC/ethanol systems gave homogeneous solution at the temperature above their liquidus lines, while the mixtures of EC and alcohols with longer alkyl chain showed a miscibility gap in a liquid phase and provided the monotectic-type phase diagram. The liquid–liquid phase separation region expanded with the increase in the alkyl chain length. A similar phase behavior was also observed for the mixtures of EC and alkylbenzenes. On the other hand, the EC mixtures with ω-phenyl alcohols showed no miscibility gap in a liquid phase at least up to 4-phenylbutan-1-ol which has C4 alkyl chain intervening between phenyl and hydroxyl groups. This result demonstrates that both of the hydroxyl and phenyl groups act to facilitate the mixing of aliphatic compounds with EC. The phase behavior of these EC mixtures was analyzed applying the modified regular solution model in which the pair interaction energy was regarded as free energy. The model calculation with the use of heat of solution of EC at infinite dilution as the pair interaction enthalpy reproduced well both of the experimentally obtained liquidus line and mutual solubility curve as well as monotectic point.  相似文献
