The pure‐gas sorption, diffusion, and permeation properties of ethylbenzene in poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) are reported at 35, 45, and 55 °C and at pressures ranging from 0 to 4.4 cmHg. Additionally, mixed‐gas ethylbenzene/N2 permeability properties at 35 °C, a total feed pressure of 10 atm, and a permeate pressure of 1 atm are reported. Ethylbenzene solubility increases with increasing penetrant relative pressure and can be described by the Flory–Rehner model with an interaction parameter of 0.24 ± 0.02. At a fixed relative pressure, ethylbenzene solubility decreases with increasing temperature, and the enthalpy of sorption is −41.4 ± 0.3 kJ/mol, which is independent of ethylbenzene concentration and essentially equal to the enthalpy of condensation of pure ethylbenzene. Ethylbenzene diffusion coefficients decrease with increasing concentration at 35 °C. The activation energy of ethylbenzene diffusion in PDMS at infinite dilution is 49 ± 6 kJ/mol. The ethylbenzene activation energies of permeation decrease from near 0 to −34 ± 7 kJ/mol as concentration increases, whereas the activation energy of permeation for pure N2 is 8 ± 2 kJ/mol. At 35 °C, ethylbenzene and N2 permeability coefficients determined from pure‐gas permeation experiments are similar to those obtained from mixed‐gas permeation experiments, and ethylbenzene/N2 selectivity values as high as 800 were observed. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Highly enantioselective synthesis of (2R)-α-(hydroxymethyl)glutamate (1), a selective agonist of mGluR2 and 3, was achieved in short steps using an asymmetric version of the Strecker synthesis. This was converted into its α-methoxymethyl- and α-benzyloxymethyl derivatives 2 and 3, possible ligands as tools to investigate glutamate receptors, via protection of the sterically hindered amino group by means of phase transfer catalyst.  相似文献

Homogeneously fullerene‐dispersed membranes were prepared under the conditions in which a 10 wt % poly(1‐trimethylsilyl‐1‐propyne) solution containing 0.5 wt % fullerene was dried under a reduced pressure of 50 cmHg at 100 °C. UV‐vis spectra and microscopic observations of the fullerene membranes indicated that the fullerene was homogeneously dispersed in the membranes. The permeability coefficients of 1‐butene were found to be higher than those of n‐butane in the fullerene membranes, although the permeability coefficients of olefin gases were nearly equal to those of paraffin gases having the same number of carbon in poly(1‐trimethylsilyl‐1‐propyne) membranes containing no fullerene. Pressure dependence of permeability coefficients was clearly observed for the permeation of carbon dioxide, ethylene, ethane, 1‐butene, and n‐butane through the fullerene membranes, while no significant dependence was found for poly(1‐trimethylsilyl‐1‐propyne) membranes except for the permeation of 1‐butene and n‐butane. Summary: The cationic ring‐opening copolymerization behavior of SOC1 with BOXT and the properties of the obtained cross‐linked copolymers are described. SOC1 and BOXT are cationically copolymerized under various feed ratios to obtain the corresponding cross‐linked copolymers in 73–96% yields. The volume change during copolymerization could be controlled by the addition of SOC1 to obtain non‐shrinking or volume‐expanding copolymers. The glass transition temperatures (Tg) of the copolymers also decrease linearly with the feed ratio of SOC1, which suggests that the introduction of the flexible poly(SOC1) segment into the rigid BOXT cross‐linked segment relieves the internal stress in the resins that severely degrade their mechanical properties.

Near infrared spectroscopy is an overtone spectroscopy regarded as a quick and non-destructive method that provides analytical solutions for components that represent approximately 1% or more of the total mass of the investigated composite samples. Aquaphotomics offers the possibility for disentanglement of information remaining hidden in the spectra when conventional data evaluation methods are used, since this concept utilizes changes of the water structure induced by the measured solute as specific molecular vibrations at water bands. Here, near infrared technique and aquaphotomics are applied for non-destructive identification and quantification of mono- and di-saccharide solutes at 100–0.02 mM concentration that is accepted as unachievable with near infrared spectroscopy. The results presented in this study support the aquaphotomics' water molecular mirror concept that explores spectral changes related to water molecular rearrangements caused by minute changes of the solutes in the aqueous systems. The method provides quick and accurate alternative for classical analytical measurements of saccharides even at millimolar concentration levels.  相似文献

The core-shell structured Au@Bi2S3 nanorods have been prepared through direct in-situ growth of Bi2S3 at the surface of pre-synthesized gold nanorods.The product was characterized by X-ray diffraction,transmission electron microscopy and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy.Then the obtained Au@Bi2S3 nanorods were coated onto glassy carbon electrode to act as a scaffold for fabrication of electrochemical DNA biosensor on the basis of the coordination of-NH2 modified on 5’-end of probe DNA and Au@Bi2S3.Electrochemical characterization assays demonstrate that the Au@Bi2S3 nanorods behave as an excellent electronic transport channel to promote the electron transfer kinetics and increase the effective surface area by their nanosize effect.The hybridization experiments reveal that the Au@Bi2S3 matrix-based DNA biosensor is capable of recognizing complementary DNA over a wide concentration ranging from 10 fmol/L to 1 nmol/L.The limit of detection was estimated to be 2 fmol/L(S/N=3).The biosensor also presents remarkable selectivity to distinguish fully complementa ry sequences from basemismatched and non-complementary ones,showing great promising in practical application.  相似文献

Monodisperse, cationic polymer particles bearing quaternary ammonium groups effectively self-organized on hydrophobic solid substrates such as alkylated glass plates and polymer films to form particle monolayers. With an increase of the particle surface charge density, the surface coverage decreased and the morphology of particle monolayers changed from aggregated type to dispersed type. The dispersed type of particle monolayers having a relatively regular particle distance was formed at higher temperature. The self-organization behaviors on alkylated glass plates were different from those on unmodified glass plates through electrostatic interaction. The formation of particle monolayers on alkylated glass plates occurred only over a certain latex concentration range in contrast with that on unmodified glass plate. The adhesive strength of particle monolayers was enhanced by annealing at temperatures above the glass transition temperature (T g) of the particles. Lens-shaped particle monolayers were fabricated by annealing the dispersed type of particle monolayers.  相似文献
