Abstact: The kinetic energy spectrum and the polarization of the PSI neutron beam produced in the reaction 12C(p,n)X at 0° with 590 MeV polarized protons were investigated. Background  

Matrix metalloproteinases 2 and 9 (MMP-2 and MMP-9) are increased in the brain after experimental ischemic stroke in rats. These two proteases are involved with the degradation of the basal lamina and loss of stability of the blood brain barrier that occurs after ischemia and that is associated with thrombolytic therapy in ischemic stroke. Minocycline is a lipophilic tetracycline and is neuroprotective in several models of brain injury. Minocycline inhibits inflammation, apoptosis and extracellular matrix degradation. In this study we investigated whether delayed minocycline inhibits brain MMPs activated by ischemia in a model of temporary occlusion in Wistar rats.  相似文献

Relativistic and electron correlation contributions in the hydride of the recently discovered superheavy element 111 were studied using ab-initio methods within different relativistic approaches. Relativistic effects decrease the (111)H bond distance by 0.42 Å. As a result of this large bond contraction, the bond distance of (111)H (1.51 Å) is comparable to that of the hydride of its lighter congener AuH (1.52 Å), but below that of AgH (1.60 Å). The dissociation energy is relativistically increased by approximately 1.2 eV and the stretching force constant is more than quadrupled from 1.1 mdyn/Å at the nonrelativistic level to 5.0 mdyn/Å at the relativistic level.  相似文献

Molecular shuttles based on microtubules propelled by motor proteins can be guided on surfaces by adsorbing motors in chemical patterns or by using open guiding channels. While chemical patterns can guide microtubules based on a Brownian ratchet mechanism, the rigidity of the microtubules limits guiding to features with dimensions on the order of their persistence length (5 mm). To achieve guiding on micron-scale dimensions, physical barriers are required which can exploit the forces exerted by multiple motors to bend tubules into tight radii of curvature. Microtubule guiding is illustrated for the case of a special ratchet pattern that is capable of sorting microtubules on the basis of the direction of their motion. We present the measurements of the spin correlation parameterA ookk (np). A longitudinally polarized beam of free neutrons obtained from the break-up of polarized deuterons was scattered on the longitudinally polarized Saclay frozen-spin proton target. Measurements were carried out at SATURNE II, at neutron beam kinetic energies of 0.63, 0.88, 0.98 and 1.08 GeV. The data points cover the angular region from about 40° to 110° CM. The observed angular dependence ofA ookk (np) at 0.63 GeV agree with the phase shift analysis predictions except at small angles.  相似文献

The optimal decision rules for force commitments are obtained in mathematical studies of C3 (command, control, and communication). Recursive equations for the solution of the C3 problem are derived for a perturbation model with linear time-varying dynamics. Air and ground commanders are assumed to have perfect intelligence with degraded communication between them. Numerical results are given for several amphibious assaults.  相似文献
