Organoalkoxochlorogallane

Organoalkoxochlorogallanes Me₂GaCl was treated with ⁿBuOH and ⁱBuOH in a molar ration of 1:2, respectively. However, only one equivalent of the alcohol reacted with MeGaCl₂ to give [MeGa(Cl)OⁿBu]₃ ( 1 ) or [MeGa(Cl)OⁱBu]₃ ( 2 ). 1 and 2 were characterized by NMR and IR techniques as well as by X‐ray structure determinations. According to that 1 and 2 form trimers in solution and the solid state. In solution both isomers C_s and C_3v were observed while the trimers exist only as C_s isomers in the solid state which exhibit strongly distorted boat conformations with a disorder of the Cl/Me position at one of the gallium atoms.     

A Straightforward Method for the Synthesis of Functionalized Trisubstituted Alkenes through Na2S/Al2O3 Catalyzed Knoevenagel Condensation

Na₂S/Al₂O₃ catalyzed the Knoevenagel condensation between an aldehyde and an active methylene compound to yield various trisubstituted alkenes.     

Oxidation of Primary Alcohols to Carboxylic Acids Using Silica Supported CrO3/H5IO6 Under Microwave Irradiation in a Solvent‐Free System

Chromium trioxide/periodic acid supported onto wet silica gel oxidizes primary alcohols to the corresponding carboxylic acids in very short reaction times in very good yields.     

A Coordination Polymer from HAMTTO with Silver(I) (HAMTTO = 4‐Amino‐6‐methyl‐1,2,4‐triazine‐3‐thione‐5‐one)

The reaction of 4‐amino‐6‐methyl‐1,2,4‐triazine‐3‐thione‐5‐one, HAMTTO, with silver (I) nitrate in methanol led under deprotonation to the polymeric compound [(AMTTO)Ag]_n. The coordination polymer {[Ag(HAMTTO)]ClO₄}_n ( 1 ) is synthesized from the reaction of the latter polymeric compound with perchloric acid. Both compounds were characterized by elemental analysis and IR spectroscopy. Single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction studies on compound 1 showed that HAMTTO acts as a bidentate ligand and chelates the silver atom via its hydrazine nitrogen atom and its sulfur atom. Crystal data for 1 at ?90 °C: space group P2₁, Z = 2, a = 629.3(1), b = 748.7(1), c = 1071.7(1) pm, β = 98.28(1)°, R₁ = 0.0533.

Solid State Desemicarbazonation on Clayfen Under Microwave Irradiation

Ferric perchlorate as an efficient and useful catalyst for the selective benzylation and methylation of alcohols with benzyl chloride and methyl iodide

Abstract  A mild and efficient method was developed for selective benzylation and methylation of hydroxyl compounds in the presence of a catalytic amount of ferric perchlorate. We showed that ferric perchlorate was very effective in selectively promoting the benzylation and methylation of primary aliphatic and benzylic alcohols versus secondary aliphatic alcohols and phenolic hydroxy groups. Deamination of Some N-Amino Nitrogen Heterocycles Using Preyssler’s Anion

Summary. Some N-aminotriazines and -triazoles were treated with Preyssler’s anion as catalyst in acetic acid to afford the corresponding deaminated triazines and triazoles. The reaction is suggested to proceed via formation of N-nitrosamines with subsequent N–NO bond cleavage.     

Mild,Efficient, and Rapid Dehydration of Aldoximes to Nitriles Mediated by Phthalic Anhydride Under Microwave Irradiation
