Plasma chemically modified carbon nanofibers were characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy with regard to the content of carbon, oxygen, and nitrogen and the contribution of carboxylic groups or ester, carbonyl and hydroxylic groups or ether on the surface. Unfortunately, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy only provides an average value of the first 10 to 15 molecular layers. For comparison, depth profiles were measured and wet chemical methods were applied to estimate the thickness of the functionalized layer and the distribution of oxygen-containing functional groups within the near-surface layers. The results indicate that the fiber surface is covered by a monomolecular oxygen-containing layer and that plasma treatment allows a complete oxygen functionalization of the uppermost surface layer. The best conditions for plasma treatment found within the set of parameters applied to generate complete functionalization are: plasma gas O(2)/Ar ratio 1:1, gas pressure 1-1.5 hPa, plasma power 80 W, treatment time >or= 5 min. Additionally, three quick and easy methods are presented to estimate the efficiency of plasma treatment with regard to surface functionalization: pyrolysis, contact angle measurements, and light permeability measurements of aqueous carbon nanofiber suspensions.  相似文献

The charge-transfer (CT) spectra of the -complexes formed by a number of -acceptors with several indenophanes as well as indene as a model compound have been measured in methylene chloride at 20 °C. Association constants and transition energies of these complexes as well as ionization potentials of the -donors have been determined. The data obtained indicate the existence of transannular electronic interactions in the indenophane nucleus. Furthermore, the pseudo-para- andmeta[2.2]indenophane isomers (3 and4) show a large difference in their -base strength. A good linear relationship has been observed between the association constants and max of the long wavelength CT bands for the -complexes of these -donors with both tetracyanoethylene (TCNE) and 2,3-dichloro-5,6-dicyanobenzoquinone (DDQ). All CT complexes studied have a 1:1 stoichiometry.
Charge-transfer-Komplexe aus Indenophanen und -Akzeptoren
Zusammenfassung Die Charge-transfer-Spektren (CT-Spektren) von -Komplexen aus Indenophanen bzw. der Modellverbindung Inden und verschiedenen -Akzeptoren wurden in Methylenchlorid bei 20 °C bestimmt. Die Assoziationskonstanten und Übergangsenergien dieser Komplexe sowie die Ionisationspotentiale der -Donatoren wurden ermittelt. Die Daten sprechen für das Vorliegen transannularer elektronischer Wechselwirkungen im Indenophan-System. Die isomeren pseudo-para- und -meta[2.2]indenophane3 und4 unterscheiden sich in ihrer -Basizität deutlich. Es besteht eine gute lineare Korrelation zwischen den Assoziationskonstanten und max der langwelligen CT-Banden der verschiedenen -Donatoren mit Tetracyanoethylen (TCNE) und 2,3-Dichlor-5,6-dicyano-p-benzochinon (DDQ). Alle untersuchten CT-Komplexe besitzen 1:1-Stöchiometrie.

The reactivity of aryl triflates in on-surface C−C coupling is reported. It is shown that the triflate group in aryl triflates enables regioselective homo coupling with preceding or concomitant hydrodetriflation on Cu(111). Three different symmetrical π-systems with two and three triflate functionalities were used as monomers leading to oligomeric conjugated π-systems. The cascade, comprising different intermediates at different reaction temperatures as observed for one of the molecules, proceeds via initial removal of the trifluoromethyl sulfonyl group to give an aryloxy radical which in turn is deoxygenated to the corresponding aryl radical. Thermodynamically driven regioselective 1,2-hydrogen atom transfer leads to a translocated aryl radical which in turn undergoes coupling. For a sterically more hindered bistriflate, where one ortho position was blocked, dehydrogenative coupling occurred at remote position with good regioselectivity. Starting materials, intermediates as well as products were analyzed by scanning tunneling microscopy. Structures and suggested mechanism were further supported by DFT calculations.  相似文献

Poly(n-butylacrylate-co-carbon monoxide-co-ethylene) (polyEBC) samples prepared from 13C-labeled monomer, n-butyl acrylate, were characterized using two dimensional (2D) pulsed field gradient (PFG) 750 MHz NMR spectroscopy. To elucidate the complex structure of the terpolymer, 2D-1H/13C-heteronuclear single quantum coherence (HSQC) and heteronuclear multiple bond correlation (HMBC) experiments were conducted by selectively exciting the enhanced resonances in the spectra of two polymer samples, one polymer resulting from synthesis with 1-13C-n-butylacrylate monomer and a second polymer obtained from a synthesis with 2-13C-n-butylacrylate monomer. High-resolution 2D-NMR combined with 13C-labeling of the polymer greatly simplifies the 2D-NMR spectra, selectively enhances the weak peaks from low occurrence B-centered triad structures, and aids in their resonance assignments. In all experiments, the sample temperature was 120 degrees C, to ensure a homogeneous solution and sufficient molecular mobility. Summary: The morphology and tensile deformation behaviour of a highly asymmetric styrene/butadiene star block copolymer (polystyrene (PS) content = 74%) containing random PS‐co‐PB (polybutadiene) copolymer as a rubbery phase were investigated. The existence of double yielding, similar to that observed in some semicrystalline polymers, was detected in this nanostructured amorphous polymer. The observed phenomenon may be correlated with two different micromechanical processes taking place at the initial stage of deformation.

A recently developed technique in sum frequency generation spectroscopy, polarization angle null (or PAN-SFG), is applied to two orientations of the prism face of hexagonal ice. It is found that the vibrational modes of the surface are similar in different faces. As in the basal face, the prism face of ice contains five dominant resonances: 3096, 3146, 3205, 3253, and 3386 cm(-1). On the basal face, the reddest resonance occurs at 3098 cm(-1); within the bandwidth, the same as the prism face. On both the prism and basal faces, this mode contains a significant quadrupole component and is assigned to the bilayer stitching hydrogen bonds. The bluest of the resonances, 3386 cm(-1), occurs slightly blue-shifted at 3393 cm(-1) in the basal face. The prism face has two orientations: one with the optic or c axis in the input plane (the plane formed by the surface normal and the interrogating beam propagation) and one with the c axis perpendicular to the input plane. The 3386 cm(-1) mode has significant intensity only with the c axis in the input plane. On the basis of these orientation characteristics, the 3386 cm(-1) mode is assigned to double-donor molecules in either the top half bilayer or in the lower half bilayer. On the basis of frequency considerations, it is assigned to double-donor molecules in the top half bilayer. These are water molecules containing a nonbonded lone pair. In addition to identification of the components of the broad hydrogen-bonded region, PAN-SFG measures the tangential vs longitudinal content of the vibrational modes. In accord with previous suggestions, the lower frequency modes are predominantly tangential, whereas the higher frequency modes are mainly longitudinal. On the prism face, the 3386 cm(-1) mode is entirely longitudinal.  相似文献

In this study, 10 already described secondary metabolites and 2 unknown metabolites were identified in an extract of Monascus purpureus by high-performance liquid chromatography-diode array detection. The unknown metabolites were isolated and their chemical structures were elucidated. The new metabolites possess the molecular formulas C(21)H(27)NO(4) and C(23)H(31)NO(4). They were named monascopyridines E and F due to their pyridine backbone. The cytotoxicity of the new compounds was studied using immortalised human kidney epithelial cells displaying IC(50) values in the micromolar range.  相似文献

The experimental conditions developed for the detection of rather stable radical cations in solution by electrospray-ionization mass spectrometry (ESI-MS) of a FeII complex of 2-amino-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-5-methylpteridin-4 (3H)-one ( 1c ) are used to observe the formation of the more unstable radical cations formed from 2-amino-5,6,7,8-tetrahydropteridin-4(3H)-one ( 1a ) and tris(pentane-2,4-dionato)iron(III) ([FeIII(acac)3]; 4 ) and to monitor their oxidation to the corresponding p-quinonoid dihydropterin complexes. These results contribute to the understanding of the important role played by 6β-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-L -biopterin ( 1b ; a homologue of 1a ) together with iron as constituent of some cofactors. The complexes obtained from 1a and iron may be considered, e.g. as a model of the cofactor of the phenylalanine hydroxylase. Moreover, we describe an improved synthesis of 1c .  相似文献
