Bis(dibenzo[c.e][1,2]oxaphosphorino)dichloroplatinum Complexes

Reaction of a series of P-amino and P-cycloalkoxy dibenzo[c.e][1,2]oxaphosphorines (1), (3) and (5) with cis-bis(benzonitrile)dichloroplatinum(II) afforded the title bis(dibenzooxaphosphorino) complexes (2), (4) and (6), respectively. In the case of chiral P-substituents, the complexes (4) and (6) were obtained in homo and heterochiral forms. Stereospecific ¹J(¹⁹⁵Pt–P) couplings found in the ³¹P-n.m.r. spectra of the products (2), (4) and (6) suggested the cis orientation of the identical substituents.

Quasi-ordered Desarguesian affine spaces

Starting from Euclidean spaces with a betweenness function, which is compatible with the congruence relation, we introduce quasi-orderings as a common generalization of half-orderings and semi-orderings. DETAILED ACTION SPECTRUM FOR THE DELAY SHIFT IN PUPAE EMERGENCE OF DROSOPHILA PSEUDOOBSCURA*

Abstract— Dose-response curves were measured for the delay phase shift of pupae emergence of Drosophila pseudoobscura. From these curves an action spectrum was determined for this process; it suggests a flavin to be the photoreceptor pigment.

The reaction of trimethylammonium acetic acid betaine (1) with trifluoroaceticanhydride (TFA) yielding trifluoroacetyl-N-methylide can be extended to triethylammonium acetic acid betaine (2), 2-pyridiniumpropionic acid betaine (9) andN,N-dimethyl-piperidinium-2-carboxylate betaine (14). Trigonelline and 3-pyridiniumpropionic acid betaine (11), however, do not react in this way. It follows that the formation of such ylides is only possible if the methylene or methine group of the betaines are flanked by ammonium and carboxylate group.

Dispersion of a layered electron gas with nearest neighbour-tunneling

The dispersion of the first plasmon band is calculated within the Random Phase Approximation for a superlattice of two-dimensional electrongases, mutually interacting, and with nearest neighbour hopping between the planes. It is further shown that the deviations of this dispersion from the one in systems with zero interplane motion are very small in commonly realized experimental situations and that they are expected to be observable only in samples with plane distances of 150 Å and less.
