Complexation of europium(III) with glyceryl-1- and -2-phosphates has been studied by metal ion luminescence, 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy and potentiometry. From the luminescence and NMR studies, the formation of a 1:1 inner-sphere complex, in which the glyceryl phosphate is directly bound to the metal, is confirmed. Similar apparent binding constants at pH 2 were obtained by the three methods. Values obtained by NMR at pH 2 are 53 M−1 and 12 M−1 for glyceryl-1- and -2-phosphate, respectively. By comparison with literature data on related systems it is suggested that the ligands bind through the phosphate group. To obtain structural information from the NMR data, complexation has also been studied with the lanthanide ions Dy(III), Er(III) and Gd(III) using both chemical shift and relaxation data. From this, metal-proton distance ratios have been calculated. Comparison of 1H and 13C NMR spectral data in the presence of paramagnetic lanthanides suggests conformational equilibria in the solutions. From the potentiometric studies, global formation constants have been determined, and speciation diagrams obtained over the pH range 1.5pH7.0 for ligand/metal ratios of 1 and 30. Implications of these results on lanthanide induced fusion of phospholipid membranes are discussed.  相似文献

Summary Electron microscope examination of thixotropic aluminium and thorium molybdate gels shows that one hour after formation they are constituted by short fibrils of small axial ratio. The fibrils of the aluminium molybdate gels, with ageing at room temperature or with boiling, increase in diameter and length; the fibrous shape of the particles is maintained after two and a half years of ageing; all fibrils are crystalline by electron diffraction. The fibrils of the thorium molybdate gels, except in the gels containing hydrochloric acid, change with ageing at room temperature or with boiling, into plates of hexagonal, elliptical or rectangular profile; the fibrils and plates are crystalline and have the same electron diffraction pattern as the fibrils.This work was aided, in part, by grants from Conselho Nacional de Pesquisas and the Rockefeller Foundation.  相似文献

The nature of cyclopropyl gold(I) carbene-type intermediates has been reexamined as part of a mechanistic study on the formation of cis- or trans-fused bicyclo[5.1.0]octanes in a gold(I)-catalyzed cascade reaction. Benchmark of DFT methods together with QTAIM theory and NBO analysis confirms the formation of distinct intermediates with carbenic or carbocationic structures in the cycloisomerizations of enynes.  相似文献

Cellular polymers constitute an important field of investigation due to their unique properties as shock absorbers and thermal or acoustic insulators. The knowledge of the wetting properties of these materials is important in applications where adhesion or weathering behavior are an issue. In this study, cellular polyurethane polymers were used to investigate the effect of the cellular structure on the wetting properties. The polymeric substrates were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy and the wetting properties were studied by goniometry. The contact angles of water and diiodomethane were measured as a function of time and the surface tension of the expanded polymers was evaluated by the geometric and harmonic mean methods. It was found that the wettability and the surface energy of the cellular polymers increase as the density decreases. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

The fragmentation mechanisms of singlet oxygen [O(2) ((1)Delta(g))]-derived oxidation products of tryptophan (W) were analyzed using collision-induced dissociation coupled with (18)O-isotopic labeling experiments and accurate mass measurements. The five identified oxidized products, namely two isomeric alcohols (trans and cis WOH), two isomeric hydroperoxides (trans and cis WOOH), and N-formylkynurenine (FMK), were shown to share some common fragment ions and losses of small neutral molecules. Conversely, each oxidation product has its own fragmentation mechanism and intermediates, which were confirmed by (18)O-labeling studies. Isomeric WOH lost mainly H(2)O + CO, while WOOH showed preferential elimination of C(2)H(5)NO(3) by two distinct mechanisms. Differences in the spatial arrangement of the two isomeric WOHs led to differences in the intensities of the fragment ions. The same behavior was also found for trans and cis WOOH. FMK was shown to dissociate by a diverse range of mechanisms, with the loss of ammonia the most favored route. MS/MS analyses, (18)O-labeling, and H(2)(18)O experiments demonstrated the ability of FMK to exchange its oxygen atoms with water. Moreover, this approach also revealed that the carbonyl group has more pronounced oxygen exchange ability compared with the formyl group. The understanding of fragmentation mechanisms involved in O(2) ((1)Delta(g))-mediated oxidation of W provides a useful step toward the structural characterization of oxidized peptides and proteins.  相似文献

The benefit of near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy in studies of acid-treated clay minerals is demonstrated. The effects of mineral type, composition and content of non-swelling interlayers on the dissolution rate are investigated. Detailed analysis of the NIR region is performed by comparing the first overtone (2νOH) and combination (ν + δ)OH bands with the fundamental stretching (ν) and bending (ν) vibrations. Spectra of acid-treated samples show a gradual decrease in the intensities of the structural OH overtone (near 7100 cm?1) and combination (4600–4300 cm?1) bands reflecting a fewer number of octahedral atoms. The appearance of the 2νSiOH vibration for terminal (isolated) SiOH groups near 7315 cm?1 indicates the formation of a protonated silica phase. The band near 7130 cm?1 remaining in the spectra of acid-treated samples is assigned to 2νHOSiOH of geminal silanol groups. Thus the creation of geminal silanols, previously detected by 29Si MAS-NMR spectroscopy in acid-treated hectorite, is confirmed also by NIR spectroscopy. The assignment of the 4555 cm?1 band to the (ν + δ)SiOH combination enabled calculation of the wavenumber for the SiO–H bending vibration (~810 cm?1) that is not observable in the mid-IR region due to overlapping with the Si–O band of amorphous silica (~800 cm?1). The NIR spectra confirm that trioctahedral hectorite is much more susceptible to dissolution in HCl than dioctahedral nontronite. The dissolution rate of kaolinite present in the Badin clay as an admixture is lower than that of the main mineral nontronite. The accessibility of the interlayers for protons significantly influences the stability of clay minerals in HCl. Mixed-layered mineral illite/smectite with only 30% of swelling interlayers dissolves more slowly than smectite of similar chemical composition containing mainly swelling interlayers.  相似文献

The article presents the results of physical and chemical properties of lightweight aggregates (LWA) obtained by the thermal treatments of raw composition based on fly ash, supplied by electric plants from Serbia. The production process of LWA consists of raw material preparation, plastic shaping?Cextrusion, granulation, and thermal treatment at three temperatures: 1100, 1150, and 1200?°C. The final firing temperature (T?=?1150?°C) is chosen based on the mechanical and physical properties of the designed aggregates. The particle-size distribution of the LWAs is unimodal (d????16?mm) while the density value varies from 0.98 to 1.99?g/cm3. The water absorption values are determined by use of two methods: 24?h of soaking in cold water and 5?h of boiling. The thermal conductivity of unbound, fired LWA particles is determined by measuring the amount of axially transferred heat in the stationary state. The obtained value of the LWA thermal conductivity (???=?0.0872?W/mK, T?=?1150?°C) is suitable for the production of structural concrete blocks with improved thermal insulating properties. Because of their high-porosity and -compressive strength values, the designed LWA could be used instead of the conventional aggregates in the production of concrete blocks. Consequently, a real valorization of the waste material such as fly ash in Serbia was established.  相似文献

Density, speed of sound, refractive index, and dynamic viscosity of the ionic liquids (ILs) 1-butyl-1-methylpyrrolidinium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide, BMpyr NTf2, and trihexyl(tetradecyl) phosphonium dicyanamide, P66614 dca, were studied as a function of temperature at atmospheric pressure. Thermal expansion coefficient, αp, molecular volumes, and standard entropies of these ILs were calculated from the experimental density values. The solubility of three aromatic components (benzene, toluene, and ethylbenzene) in the selected ILs was carried out at T = 298.15 K and atmospheric pressure and compared with literature values for sulfolane.  相似文献
