Simple, fast and accurate procedure is developed for measuring a Transformation Function (TF) of a Photochromic Adaptive Filter (PAF). Photochromic filters, whose spectral transmittance depends on previous and immediate radiant exposure and other environmental conditions, require special methods of spectro-photometry to determine their properties. This article describes methodology of characterizing the luminous transmittance as a function of light intensity using easy to implement method. Transformation functions of sample filters for different sources of radiation and varied light intensity are evaluated. The measuring system can also be used for fast determination of spatially and spectrally uniform light sources with UV spectral component. 相似文献

In this work, multivariate data analysis methods were applied to the analysis and interpretation of micro‐Raman spectra, collected from a broad set of historical iron‐based ink samples, previously characterised for the content of organic acids (gallic acid, ellagic acid and protocatechuic acid). The proposed method relies on principal component analysis of the noisy spectra typically obtained on original, degraded, organic samples, where fluorescence could affect the Raman signal. The signal components could be distinguished from the noise components and then used to build a linear discriminant analysis (LDA) model, achieving separation of the spectra into three classes. Selection of pure signal factors also improved effectiveness and performances of partial least square regression (PLS) algorithms, allowing quantification of condensed tannic acid residuals. Application of multivariate methods to discriminate signal from noise removes the need for spectral data manipulation (filtering, smoothing and differentiating). The obtained classification method for discrimination of historic inks and the regression method for determination of condensed tannic acid residuals supports the use of Raman analysis of fluorescing organic materials, and may provide information to scholars on ink composition and potentially on its provenance. The aim of this study was to detect and compare the changes in the time-frequency and fractal scaling behaviors of heart rate (HR) and respiratory frequency (Rf), recorded simultaneously during a high altitude mountain ascent. The time-frequency analysis was performed using the local cosine4 orthonormal bases of Coifman, Malvar and Meyer, whose spectrum is not redundant as those computed with the short Fourier transform. The fractal scaling behavior was obtained using the detrended fluctuation (DFA) and the wavelet leaders (WL) analysis. Results showed that the high altitude mountain ascent differently affected HR and Rf variability. Rf average values increased (p=0.0003) while HR average values did not change. The scaling variability of HR was altered during the mountain ascent, which was detected by the increasing HR short range DFA exponents with altitude (p<0.03). Rf scaling variability remained unchanged. These differences between HR and Rf alterations were also observed for the local cosine4 power law behavior since power law exponents, in absolute values, increased for HR (p<0.003) while those of Rf did not change. Furthermore, the ratio of low over the whole local spectrum energy of Rf decreased with altitude (p=0.04) in contrast to HR. In most of these HR and Rf analyses, one of the two time series was significantly modified but not both. Moreover, the Rf local cosine4 spectrum had higher entropy compared to HR (p<0.01), the difference between the Rf and the HR entropy increased (p=0.04) during the mountain ascent. A procedure to estimate the relative contribution of "A" and "B" tones for a stream-segregation task is described. Listeners detected a delay in the penultimate A tone in an A-B-A-B sequence of tones. For small A-B frequency separations, for most listeners, classification models based on both the A and B tones were superior to models based on just the A tones. For large frequency separations, models based on just the A tones were superior, indicating the A and B tones were segregated. An efficient microwave-assisted self-assembly of dinuclear platinum metallocycles is reported. The reactions proceed to afford the products with high purity and yields within 3-4 h. Crystal diffraction of three membrane proteins (cytochrome bc1 complex, sarcoplasmic reticulum Ca2+ ATPase, ADP‐ATP carrier) and of one nucleoprotein complex (leucyl tRNA synthetase bound to tRNAleu, leuRS:tRNAleu) was tested at wavelengths near the X‐ray K‐absorption edge of phosphorus using a new set‐up for soft X‐ray diffraction at the beamline ID01 of the ESRF. The best result was obtained from crystals of Ca2+ ATPase [adenosin‐5′‐(β,γ‐methylene) triphosphate complex] which diffracted out to 7 Å resolution. Data were recorded at a wavelength at which the real resonant scattering factor of phosphorus reaches the extreme value of ?20 electron units. The positions of the four triphosphates of the monoclinic unit cell of the ATPase have been obtained from a difference Fourier synthesis based on a limited set of anomalous diffraction data. 相似文献

This study demonstrates the surface modification of thermally expandable core/shell microspheres by grafting glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) using activators regenerated by electron transfer (ARGET) ATRP. To retain the expansion properties it was essential to minimize the shear forces, use solvents compatible with the microspheres and keep the reaction times short (three hours or less). Using microspheres with hydroxyl groups on the surface, it was found that after converting these to α-bromo esters, GMA could be grafted by ARGET ATRP using only 50 ppm of copper catalyst in toluene at 30 °C. Decent control of the polymerization was achieved with PMDETA as ligand reaching PDIs of 1.4 for the solution polymerization of GMA. When microspheres were present, the polymerization was less controlled with higher PDIs. The epoxide groups of the grafted microspheres were hydrolyzed by HCl in THF providing a hydrophilic surface of the microsphere. The expansion property of the microspheres was studied after each reaction step by thermal mechanical analysis, and it was found that the expansion capacity was well preserved with only limited negative effect on the microspheres. 相似文献
