The entry distribution in angular momentum and excitation energy for the formation of 254No has been measured after the 208Pb(48Ca,2n) reaction at 215 and 219 MeV. This nucleus is populated up to spin 22Planck's over 2pi and excitation energy greater, similar6 MeV above the yrast line, with the half-maximum points of the energy distributions at approximately 5 MeV for spins between 12Planck's over 2pi and 22Planck's over 2pi. This suggests that the fission barrier is greater, similar5 MeV and that the shell-correction energy persists to high spin.  相似文献

A distinctive longitudinal magnetic field dependence of the muon polarization for anomalous muonium in polycrystalline semiconductor targets has been predicted. The polarization exhibits a cusp,i.e., a discontinuous jump in the slope from negative to positive. Measurements of the longitudinal polarization for polycrystalline silicon in fields up to 0.5 T, and temperatures 53 and 200 K have been made at LAMPF. A cusp in the field dependence indeed occurs at 0.345 T, in excellent agreement with the prediction. No cusp is observed at 200 K because Mu* has been thermally ionized.  相似文献

Summary In a recent paper [11], two of the authors investigated a fast reduction method for solving difference equations which approximate certain boundary value problems for Poisson's equation. In this second paper, we prove the numerical stability of the reduction method, and also report on further developments of the method. For the general case, the provided bounds for the numerical errors behave roughly like the condition numberO(n 2) of the linear system; for more realistic model problems estimates of order less thanO(n) are obtained (n –1=h=mesh width). The number of operations required for the reduction method isO(n 2 ), for the usual five-point difference formula, as well as for the common nine-point formula with discretization error of orderh 4.  相似文献

In this paper we extend the notion of an incidence group to that of a groupoid. The concept of near-algebras, introduced below, enables us to describe Desarguesian incidence groupoids algebraically and to generalize most of the essential results about projective incidence groups with regard to groupoids.

We consider two-particle correlations which appear in relativistic nuclear collisions owing to the quantum statistics of identical particles in the frame of two formalisms: wave-function and current parametrizations. The first one is based on solution of the Cauchy problem, whereas the second one is a so-called current parametrization of the source of secondary particles. We argue that these two parametrizations of the source coincide when the wave-function at freeze-out times is put into a specific correspondence with a current. Then, the single-particle Wigner density evaluated in both approaches gives the same result. The text was submitted by the authors in English.  相似文献

The fusion–evaporation reaction 10B(12C, 2n) was used to make the first observation of in-beam γ decays from the astrophysically important nucleus 20Na, lying adjacent to the proton drip-line. All states below the proton threshold in 20Na were populated and identified in the experiment. These include new levels, previously unresolved levels, and states located with improved energy precision. The level structure of 20Na, and its γ transitions, are compared to the mirror partner 20F measured simultaneously in this experiment. In particular, a high degree of energy stability is found for all negative parity states. These results are discussed in the context of the nuclear shell model.  相似文献

The particle transverse momentum spectra recently measured in relativistic heavy-ion collisions at CERN and BNL are analysed within an expanding fireball model. All the particle spectra at a given beam energy can be reproduced simultaneously with a single set of intensive parameters for the initial state of the fireball. As typical freeze-out parameters in this beam energy region we find a freeze-out temperatureT f?110 MeV for most hadrons, and an average transverse expansion velocity at freeze-out of 〈v/c〉?0.4–0.45. The striking enhancement at transverse momentap T<200 MeV/c in the CERN pion data cannot be fully explained by the existence of transverse flow.  相似文献

Balinski uses his signature method for the proof of the Hirsch-conjecture for dual transportation polyhedra to obtain an efficient algorithm for the assignment problem. We will show how to extend this method to other primal transportation problems, including transportation problems with unit demands. We then prove that Balinski's assignment algorithm is equivalent, cycle by cycle, to that of Hung and Rom. We demonstrate that, under some assumptions for our probability model, a modification of the latter algorithm has an average complexity of O(n 2logn) and present some computational results confirming this. We also present results that indicate that this modification compares favorably with Balinski's algorithm and other codes.
