Transport properties of magnetically ordered amorphous (Fe100-xMnx)75P15C10 alloys

The resistivity , the magnetoresistance Δ and the Hall resistivity _H of alloys up to 30% Mn have been measured using amorphous ribbons of these materials. The temperature and field dependences of and _H suggest a variety of structural and spin scattering centers; in particular, (T) appears to be governed by structural (isotropic) scattering centers while _H(T) is dominated by topological (anisotropic) spin scattering centers, one of which probably is a “spin-hole”.     

Influence of the interaction potential on simulated sputtering and reflection data

The TRIM.SP program which is based on the binary collision approximation was changed to handle not only repulsive interaction potentials, but also potentials with an attractive part. Sputtering yields, average depth and reflection coefficients calculated with four different potentials are compared. Three purely repulsive potentials (Molière, Kr-C and ZBL) are used and an ab initio pair potential, which is especially calculated for silicon bombardment by silicon. The general trends in the calculated results are similar for all potentials applied, but differences between the repulsive potentials and the ab initio potential occur for the reflection coefficients and the sputtering yield at large angles of incidence.     

Oxa[7]superhelicene: A π‐Extended Helical Chromophore Based on Hexa‐peri‐hexabenzocoronenes

A novel π‐extended “superhelicene” based on hexa‐peri‐hexabenzocoronenes (HBCs) has been synthesized by an efficient four‐step synthetic procedure starting from diphenyl ether. Comprehensive structural analysis of the helicene was performed by NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry measurements together with X‐ray analysis. Physicochemical analysis of the superhelicene and suitable HBC references revealed it had outstanding fluorescent features with quantum yields of over 80 %.
