Molecular‐level airborne sensing is critical for early prevention of disasters, diseases, and terrorism. Currently, most 2D surface‐enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) substrates used for air sensing have only one functional surface and exhibit poor SERS‐active depth. “Aerosolized plasmonic colloidosomes” (APCs) are introduced as airborne plasmonic hotspots for direct in‐air SERS measurements. APCs function as a macroscale 3D and omnidirectional plasmonic cloud that receives laser irradiation and emits signals in all directions. Importantly, it brings about an effective plasmonic hotspot in a length scale of approximately 2.3 cm, which affords 100‐fold higher tolerance to laser misalignment along the z‐axis compared with 2D SERS substrates. APCs exhibit an extraordinary omnidirectional property and demonstrate consistent SERS performance that is independent of the laser and analyte introductory pathway. Furthermore, the first in‐air SERS detection is demonstrated in stand‐off conditions at a distance of 200 cm, highlighting the applicability of 3D omnidirectional plasmonic clouds for remote airborne sensing in threatening or inaccessible areas. 相似文献

A large German research consortium mainly within the Max Planck Society (“MaxSynBio”) was formed to investigate living systems from a fundamental perspective. The research program of MaxSynBio relies solely on the bottom‐up approach to synthetic biology. MaxSynBio focuses on the detailed analysis and understanding of essential processes of life through modular reconstitution in minimal synthetic systems. The ultimate goal is to construct a basic living unit entirely from non‐living components. PCM‐101 is a phosphine coordination material comprised of tris(p‐carboxylato)triphenylphosphine and secondary pillaring groups coordinated to [M3(OH)]5+ nodes (M=Co, Ni). PCM‐101 has a unique topology in which R3P: sites are arranged directly trans to one another, with a P???P separation distance dictated by the pillars. Post‐synthetic coordination of soft metals to the P: sites proceeds at room temperature to provide X‐ray quality crystals that permit full structural resolution. Addition of AuCl groups forces a large distortion of the parent framework. In contrast, CuBr undergoes insertion directly between the trans‐P sites to form dimers that mimic solution‐phase complexes, but that are geometrically strained due to steric pressure exerted by the MOF scaffold. The metalated materials are active in heterogeneous hydroaddition catalysis under mild conditions, yielding different major products compared to their molecular counterparts. 相似文献

New mechanisms for the controlled growth of one‐dimensional (1D) metal–organic framework (MOF) nano‐ and superstructures under size‐confinement and surface‐directing effects have been discovered. Through applying interfacial synthesis templated by track‐etched polycarbonate (PCTE) membranes, congruent polycrystalline zeolitic imidazolate framework‐8 (ZIF‐8) solid nanorods and hollow nanotubes were found to form within 100 nm membrane pores, while single crystalline ZIF‐8 nanowires grew inside 30 nm pores, all of which possess large aspect ratios up to 60 and show preferential crystal orientation with the {100} planes aligned parallel to the long axis of the pore. Our findings provide a generalizable method for controlling size, morphology, and lattice orientation of MOF nanomaterials. 相似文献

We used nearest‐neighbor searches in chemical space to improve the activity of the antimicrobial peptide dendrimer (AMPD) G3KL and identified dendrimer T7 , which has an expanded activity range against Gram‐negative pathogenic bacteria including Klebsiellae pneumoniae, increased serum stability, and promising activity in an in vivo infection model against a multidrug‐resistant strain of Acinetobacter baumannii. Imaging, spectroscopic studies, and a structural model from molecular dynamics simulations suggest that T7 acts through membrane disruption. These experiments provide the first example of using virtual screening in the field of dendrimers and show that dendrimer size does not limit the activity of AMPDs. 相似文献

The synthesis and structural characterization of the hitherto unknown parent Co(bz)2+ (bz=benzene) complex and several of its derivatives are described. Their synthesis starts either from a CoCO5+ salt, or directly from Co2(CO)8 and a Ag+ salt. Stability and solubility of these complexes was achieved by using the weakly coordinating anions (WCAs) [Al(ORF)4]? and [F{Al(ORF)3}2]? {RF=C(CF3)3} and the solvent ortho‐difluorobenzene (o‐DFB). The magnetic properties of Co(bz)2+ were measured and compared in the condensed and gas phases. The weakly bound Co(o‐dfb)2+ salts are of particular interest for the preparation of further CoI salts, for example, the structurally characterized low‐coordinate 12 valence electron Co(PtBu3)2+ and Co(NHC)2+ salts. 相似文献

It remains highly desired but a great challenge to achieve atomically dispersed metals in high loadings for efficient catalysis. Now porphyrinic metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) have been synthesized based on a novel mixed‐ligand strategy to afford high‐content (1.76 wt %) single‐atom (SA) iron‐implanted N‐doped porous carbon (FeSA‐N‐C) via pyrolysis. Thanks to the single‐atom Fe sites, hierarchical pores, oriented mesochannels and high conductivity, the optimized FeSA‐N‐C exhibits excellent oxygen reduction activity and stability, surpassing almost all non‐noble‐metal catalysts and state‐of‐the‐art Pt/C, in both alkaline and more challenging acidic media. More far‐reaching, this MOF‐based mixed‐ligand strategy opens a novel avenue to the precise fabrication of efficient single‐atom catalysts. 相似文献

Tough hydrogels, polymeric network structures with excellent mechanical properties (such as high stretchability and toughness), are emerging soft materials. Despite their remarkably mechanical features, tough hydrogels exhibit two flaws (freezing around the icing temperatures of water and drying under arid conditions). Inspired by cryoprotectants (CPAs) used in the inhibition of the icing of water in biological samples, a versatile and straightforward method is reported to fabricate extreme anti‐freezing, non‐drying CPA‐based organohydrogels with long‐term stability by partially displacing water molecules within the pre‐fabricated hydrogels. CPA‐based Ca‐alginate/polyacrylamide (PAAm) tough hydrogels were successfully fabricated with glycerol, glycol, and sorbitol. The CPA‐based organohydrogels remain unfrozen and mechanically flexible even up to ?70 °C and are stable under ambient conditions or even vacuum. 相似文献
