We propose a new algorithm for dynamic lot size models (LSM) in which production and inventory cost functions are only assumed to be piecewise linear. In particular, there are no assumptions of convexity, concavity or monotonicity. Arbitrary capacities on both production and inventory may occur, and backlogging is allowed. Thus the algorithm addresses most variants of the LSM appearing in the literature. Computational experience shows it to be very effective on NP-hard versions of the problem. For example, 48 period capacitated problems with production costs defined by eight linear segments are solvable in less than 2.5 minutes of Vax 8600 cpu time.  相似文献

This paper reports on an extensive two-dimensional photoelastic study of the basic deformation behavior of gear teeth under load. Limitations of existing bending-strength design procedures are used to formulate a test program which considers the magnitude of the critical root-fillet stresses, the effects of varying the load position on the flank, the effects of friction forces at contact and the relationship between bending and shearing deformations. Particular interest is devoted to a study of the observed movement of the maximum-stress position around the fillet as load moves up the tooth flank and to the associated variation in stress-concentration factors (around the fillets) due to radial, bending and shear loads. Note is also made of the problems associated with observed ‘proximity effects’ and of the procedures carried out in an attempt to qualify the nature of the effect. The results of the program have been used to, explain certain anomalies observed in earlier three-dimensional photoelastic model tests1.7 and reference is made to the development of a new design procedure for the bending strength of helical gears.  相似文献

The syntheses and biological evaluation of six epothilone D analogues are reported. These side-chain variants of the (E)-9,10-didehydroepothilone scaffold contain C-15 thiazole appendages that are derived from bromomethyl ketone intermediates. Although each of these analogues is less cytotoxic than the parent (E)-9,10-didehydroepothilone D, three maintain IC(50) values in the double-digit nanomolar range against both susceptible and resistant cell lines.  相似文献

A systematic comparison of delta34S measurements by multicollector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (MCICPMS) using two different standardisation approaches and two different reference materials as working standards is reported for the first time. Full uncertainty budgets have been calculated using the Kragten approach. Internal standardisation by measuring Si ratios and external standardisation by bracketing samples with either NIST RM8553 or NIST RM8554 have been compared to correct for the effects of mass bias. The delta34S value and the associated uncertainty ( per thousand) were found to be slightly different when using different approaches. Corrected 34S:32S ratios for NIST RM8553 and NIST RM8554 differed from those previously reported by 0.1 to 0.5% when using external standardisation. 34S:32S ratios for NIST RM8553 and NIST RM8554 differed from those previously reported by 0.06 to 0.15% when using Si internal standardisation. This indicated that in order to minimise deviation from true ratio values, Si internal standardisation would be a more appropriate option when using a Neptune MCICPMS instrument. delta(34)S values were obtained for four different methionine samples and expanded uncertainties (k = 2) expressed in delta34S ( per thousand) ranged from 0.7 per thousand to 1.6 per thousand. Regardless of the approach used for the mass bias correction, three parameters provided the major contributions to the standard uncertainty of the delta34S(V-CDT) value. These were the measured 34S:32S in the sample, the measured 34S:32S for the working standard and the known delta34S(V-CDT) value of the working standard. Results using both approaches are compared and the Si internal standardisation approach is used to provide results for an inter-laboratory comparison.  相似文献

A new algorithm for the removal of additive uncorrelated Gaussian noise from a digital image is presented. The algorithm is based on a data driven methodology for the adaptive thresholding of wavelet coefficients. This methodology is derived from higher order statistics of the residual image, and requires no a priori estimate of the level of noise contamination of an image.  相似文献

The use of silica hydride-based stationary phases for the retention and analysis of nucleotides has been investigated. Both reversed-phase columns with a hydride surface underneath as well as those with an unmodified or a minimally modified hydride material were tested. With these systems, an aqueous normal-phase mode was used with high organic content mobile phases in combination with an additive to control pH for the retention of the hydrophilic nucleotides. Isocratic and gradient elution formats have been used to optimize separations for mixtures containing up to seven components. All conditions developed are suitable for methods that utilize mass spectrometry detection.  相似文献

The use of electrically insulating synthetic materials, such as high-density polyethylene (HDPE), for fuel pipelines and other fuel handling components is now widespread. It is well reported however that the flow of fuel under certain conditions in plastic pipes can produce measurable levels of electrostatic charge.This paper describes in detail a full-scale experimental test rig simulating a filling station layout – in particular the conditions existing during road tanker delivery of high-charging fuels. It presents data from a series of electrostatic measurements, discusses results and draws conclusions with regard to existing safety margins and precautions for safe operation.  相似文献
