The photo-induced enhancement of second harmonic generation and the effect of nanocrystal shape and pump intensity on confined acoustic phonons in semiconductor nanocrystals have been investigated with time-resolved scattering and absorption measurements. The second harmonic signal showed a sublinear increase of the second-order susceptibility with respect to the pump pulse energy, indicating a reduction of the effective one-electron second-order nonlinearity with increasing electron-hole density in the nanocrystals. The coherent acoustic phonons in spherical and rod-shaped semiconductor nanocrystals were detected in a time-resolved absorption measurement. Both nanocrystal morphologies exhibited oscillatory modulation of the absorption cross section, the frequency of which corresponded to their coherent radial breathing modes. The amplitude of the oscillation also increased with the level of photoexcitation, suggesting an increase in the amplitude of the lattice displacement as well.  相似文献

Quantum well structured CdSe nanoribbons with uniform and ultrathin thickness of 1.4 nm were synthesized from the low-temperature reaction of CdCl2 and ammonium selenocarbamate. The CdSe nanoribbons exhibited an extremely narrow photoluminescence band with fwhm of 70 meV.  相似文献

Orientation of antibodies is very important in the preparation of immunoarrays to keep the activity of antibodies on solid surfaces. Thus, we synthesized a new bifunctional compound, 2-(biotinamido)ethanethiol, and investigated whether the thiol compound is useful to analyze antibody-antigen interactions on immunoarrays with a spectral SPR biosensor. The synthesized organic thiol was characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and mass spectrometry. 2-(Biotinamido)ethanethiol formed a monolayer on a gold surface and properly immobilized antibodies via streptavidin and biotinylated protein G. Optimal molar ratio of 2-(biotinamido)ethanethiol and mercaptohexanol for antigen-antibody interactions was 1:2. Thus, 2-(biotinamido)ethanethiol is an useful bifunctional linker in the preparation of immunoarrays on gold surfaces.  相似文献

Heterogeneous self-supported organometallic nanocatalysts (ONs) were synthesized by treatment of the eta6-pi-hydroquinone rhodium complex [(1,4-hydroquinone)Rh(COD)]+ with Al(Oi-Pr)3. The organometallic nanocatalysts, the size of which can be controlled by alteration of the reaction conditions, show high catalytic activities in the stereoselective polymerization of phenylacetylene to produce cis-poly(phenylacetylene). A key feature of the ON catalyst synthesis is a facile eta6 to eta4 hapticity change occurring in the quinonoid ring, which is triggered by deprotonation of the -OH groups by Al(Oi-Pr)3, with concomitant coordination of the quinone oxygen atoms to the aluminum.  相似文献

To better assess the efficacy of erbB-targeted therapies, it would help to have optical reporting human tumor xenograft models that abundantly express erbB receptors. A-431 cells have frequently been used in erbB1-targeting studies, but a well-characterized optical reporting version of the cell line has not been readily available. In this study, optical reporting A-431 clones were developed that express both a fluorescent protein reporter (green, GFP; or red, RFP) and a bioluminescent reporter, firefly luciferase. Reporter genes were transduced into cells using commercial lentiviral vectors, and clonal selection was carried out using a series of procedures. A number of clones were isolated for further characterization. A GFP/luciferase clone, A-431/D4, and an RFP/luciferase clone, A-431/G4, were obtained that exhibit erbB1 expression levels and tumor growth kinetics similar to the parental cells. To demonstrate the utility of the optical reporting clones, A-431/G4 tumors were grown subcutaneously in nude mice and treated with vascular-targeted photodynamic therapy (PDT), which targets the angiogenic consequences of erbB signaling. The A-431/G4 tumor model permitted highly sensitive longitudinal monitoring of PDT treatment response using optical imaging. A-431/D4 and A-431/G4 optical reporting tumor models should also prove useful for assessing therapies that directly target the erbB1 receptor.  相似文献

Coronaviruses (CoVs) are single-stranded RNA viruses which contain the largest RNA genomes, and severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV), a newly found group 2 CoV, emerged as infectious disease with high mortality rate. In this study, we compared the synonymous codon usage patterns between the nucleocapsid and spike genes of CoVs, and C-type lectin domain (CTLD) genes of human and mouse on the codon basis. Findings indicate that the nucleocapsid genes of CoVs were affected from the synonymous codon usage bias than spike genes, and the CTLDs of human and mouse partially overlapped with the nucleocapsid genes of CoVs. In addition, we observed that CTLDs which showed the similar relative synonymous codon usage (RSCU) patterns with CoVs were commonly derived from the human chromosome 12, and mouse chromosome 6 and 12, suggesting that there might be a specific genomic region or chromosomes which show a more similar synonymous codon usage pattern with viral genes. Our findings contribute to developing the codon-optimization method in DNA vaccines, and further study is needed to determine a specific correlation between the codon usage patterns and the chromosomal locations in higher organisms.  相似文献

Surface-enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS), surface-enhanced infrared absorption spectroscopy (SEIRA), temperature-programmed desorption (TPD), and density functional theory were used to characterize the adsorption properties of the hydroxybenzoic acid (HBA) isomers including ortho-hydroxybenzoic acid (OHA), meta-hydroxybenzoic acid (MHA), and para-hydroxybenzoic acid (PHA) using various deposition solvents with different polar properties. SERS typically enhances the Raman shifts of the monolayer, while SEIRA is a longer range effect, often providing vibrational enhancement to both the monolayer and multilayer. TPD analysis showed that OHA adsorption to silver is weaker than MHA/PHA, most likely as a result of the strong OHA intramolecular hydrogen-bonding. SERS and SEIRA demonstrated that OHA ionized efficiently in the monolayer and multilayer independent of the solvent polarity because of OHA's low pKa (2.98). MHA/PHA ionized better than OHA in the multilayer in less polar deposition solvents, and a decrease in the polarity of the deposition solvent created additional ordering in the MHA monolayer while inducing stronger adsorption in the PHA monolayer. It is believed that a lower level of solvation with less polar deposition solvents allowed for more adsorbate/substrate interaction and more intermolecular attraction. The addition of more MHA to a multilayer resulted only in stronger SEIRA peaks. As a PHA multilayer thickened there was significant structural changes represented by new bands and spectral peak shifts with greater intermolecular attraction as the multilayer approached bulk properties. Due to the range of applications involving HBA isomers, these studies could find significant applications in biochemistry, medicine, nanotechnology and environmental science.  相似文献

We show that, for Galilean invariant quantum Hall states, the Hall viscosity appears in the electromagnetic response at finite wave numbers q. In particular, the leading q dependence of the Hall conductivity at small q receives a contribution from the Hall viscosity. The coefficient of the q(2) term in the Hall conductivity is universal in the limit of strong magnetic field.  相似文献

'q-Titration' refers to the systematic comparison of signal intensities in solution NMR spectra of uniformly (15)N labeled membrane proteins solubilized in micelles and isotropic bicelles as a function of the molar ratios (q) of the long-chain lipids (typically DMPC) to short-chain lipids (typically DHPC). In general, as q increases, the protein resonances broaden and correspondingly have reduced intensities due to the overall slowing of protein reorientation. Since the protein backbone signals do not broaden uniformly, the differences in line widths (and intensities) enable the narrower (more intense) signals associated with mobile residues to be differentiated from the broader (less intense) signals associated with "structured" residues. For membrane proteins with between one and seven trans-membrane helices in isotropic bicelles, we have been able to find a value of q between 0.1 and 1.0 where only signals from mobile residues are observed in the spectra. The signals from the structured residues are broadened so much that they cannot be observed under standard solution NMR conditions. This q value corresponds to the ratio of DMPC:DHPC where the signals from the structured residues are "titrated out" of the spectrum. This q value is unique for each protein. In magnetically aligned bilayers (q>2.5) no signals are observed in solution NMR spectra of membrane proteins because the polypeptides are "immobilized" by their interactions with the phospholipid bilayers on the relevant NMR timescale (~10(5)Hz). No signals are observed from proteins in liposomes (only long-chain lipids) either. We show that it is feasible to obtain complementary solution NMR and solid-state NMR spectra of the same membrane protein, where signals from the mobile residues are present in the solution NMR spectra, and signals from the structured residues are present in the solid-state NMR spectra. With assigned backbone amide resonances, these data are sufficient to describe major features of the secondary structure and basic topology of the protein. Even in the absence of assignments, this information can be used to help establish optimal experimental conditions.  相似文献

Vigorous physical effects including micro-jet and micro-streaming can be induced in heterogeneous systems by acoustic cavitation. This can be useful for the removal of pollutants from contaminated soil particles. In this study, the diesel removal efficiencies in ultrasonic, mechanical, and combined soil washing processes have been compared considering the electrical energy consumptions for these processes. The combined process showed synergistic effects for both removal efficiency and effective volume also has the advantage of a short operation time compared to the sequential processes. Thus the ultrasonic soil washing process with mechanical mixing is considered a promising technology for industrial use.  相似文献
