"Rainbow trapping" has been proposed as a scheme for localized storage of broadband electromagnetic radiation in metamaterials and plasmonic heterostructures. Here, we articulate the dispersion and power flow characteristics of rainbow trapping structures, and show that tapered waveguide structures composed of dielectric core and metal cladding are best suited for light trapping. Understanding the radiation background at the north crossing point (NCP) in the tunnel of BEPCII is crucial for the performance safety of the High Purity Germanium (HPGe) detector, and in turn of great significance for long-term stable running of the energy measurement system. Therefore, as the first step, a NaI(Tl) detector is constructed to continuously measure the radiation level of photons as background for future experiments. Furthermore, gamma and neutron dosimeters are utilized to explore the radiation distribution in the vicinity of the NCP where the HPGe detector will be located. The use of combination antiretroviral therapy has proven remarkably effective in controlling HIV disease progression and prolonging survival. However, the emergence of drug resistance can occur. It is necessary that we gain a greater understanding of the evolution of drug resistance. Here, we consider an HIV viral dynamical model with general form of target cell density, drug resistance and intracellular delay incorporating antiretroviral therapy. The model includes two strains: wild-type and drug-resistant. The basic reproductive ratio for each strain is obtained for the existence of steady states. Qualitative analysis of the model such as the well-posedness of the solutions and the equilibrium stability is provided. Global asymptotic stability of the disease-free and drug-resistant steady states is shown by constructing Lyapunov functions. Furthermore, sufficient conditions related to the properties of the target cell density are obtained for the local asymptotic stability of the positive steady state. Numerical simulations are conducted to study the impact of target cell density and intracellular delay focusing on the stability of the positive steady state. The occurrence of Hopf bifurcation of periodic solutions is shown to depend on the target cell density. 相似文献

It basically consists of two parts: a review of the literature, focusing on the modelling of information streams and on scheduling disciplines (Sects. 2, 3), and a demonstration of some key methods for the analysis of discrete-time queueing systems, focusing on a particular two-class discrete-time queue with correlated arrivals and two priority classes (Sects. 4–6). In this paper, we develop a tabu search procedure for solving the uniform graph partitioning problem. Tabu search, an abstract heuristic search method, has been shown to have promise in solving several NP-hard problems, such as job shop and flow shop scheduling, vehicle routing, quadratic assignment, and maximum satisfiability. We compare tabu search to other heuristic procedures for graph partitioning, and demonstrate that tabu search is superior to other solution approaches for the uniform graph partitioning problem both with respect to solution quality and computational requirements. 相似文献

A density fitting approach for the Coulomb matrix representation within the four-component formulation of relativistic density-functional theory is presented. Our implementation, which uses G-spinor basis sets, shares all the advantages of those found in nonrelativistic quantum chemistry. We show that very accurate Coulomb energies may be obtained using a modest number of scalar auxiliary basis functions for molecules containing heavy atoms. The efficiency of this new implementation is demonstrated in a detailed study of the spectroscopic properties of the gold dimer, and its scaling behavior has been tested by calculations of some closed-shell gold clusters (Au2, Au3+, Au4, Au5+). The algorithm is found to scale as O(N3), just as it does in the nonrelativistic case, and represents a dramatic improvement in efficiency over the conventional approach in the calculation of the Coulomb matrix, with computation times that are reduced to less than 3% for Au2 and up to 1% in the case of Au5+. 相似文献

An implementation of the generalized gradient approximation within the four-component formulation of relativistic density-functional theory using G-spinor basis sets is presented. This approach is based on the direct evaluation of the relativistic density and its gradient from the G-spinor amplitudes and gradients without explicit reference to the total density matrix. This proves to be a particularly efficient scheme, with an intrinsic computational cost that scales linearly with the number of G-spinor basis functions. In order to validate this new implementation, incorporated in the parallel version of the program BERTHA, a detailed study of the diatomic system CsAu is also reported. The spectroscopic constants D(e),r(e),omega(e), and x(e)omega(e) and the dipole moment mu have been calculated and compared with the best available theoretical and experimental data. The sensitivity of our results to the details of the numerical schemes used to evaluate the matrix elements is analyzed in detail. Tumor hypoxia, either preexisting or as a result of oxygen depletion during photodynamic therapy (PDT) light irradiation, can significantly reduce the effectiveness of PDT-induced cell killing. To overcome tumor hypoxia and improve tumor cell killing, we propose using supplemental hyperoxygenation during Photofrin-PDT. The mechanism for the tumor cure enhancement of the hyperoxygenation-PDT combination is investigated using an in vivo-in vitro technique. A hypoxic tumor model was established by implanting mammary adenocarcinoma in the hind legs of mice. Light irradiation (200 J/cm2 at either 75 or 150 mW/cm2), under various oxygen supplemental conditions (room air, carbogen, 100% normobaric or hyperbaric oxygen), was delivered to animals that received 12.5 mg/kg Photofrin 24 h before light irradiation. Tumors were harvested at various time points after PDT and grown in vitro for colony formation analysis. Treated tumors were also analyzed histologically. The results show that when PDT is combined with hyperoxygenation, the hypoxic condition could be improved and the cell killing rate at various time points after PDT could be significantly enhanced over that without hyperoxygenation, suggesting an enhanced direct and indirect cell killing associated with high-concentration oxygen breathing. This study further confirms our earlier observation that when a PDT treatment is combined with hyperoxygenation it can be more effective in controlling hypoxic tumors. 相似文献
