Electron affinity of plasma embedded muonium (μ+e?) and pionium (π+e?) has been estimated using a general three‐body formalism within variational framework. Electron correlation is taken care of using extended Hylleraas basis sets. The stability of the three‐body systems have been studied under the Debye screening model of the plasma, which changes the Coulombic potential to the screened Coulomb one. The electron affinity of the muonium and pionium is maximum for free systems, and it decreases gradually toward zero with increase of the plasma strength, which tends to push the three‐body system toward gradual instability. We show that two simple semiclassical strategies, one based on the Wilson–Sommerfeld rule and the other on the uncertainty principle, yield the exact modified form of the virial theorem for confined systems. Isocratic reversed-phase liquid chromatography (LC) method was developed using acetonitrile and water for the determination of diospyrin, a pharmacologically important bisnaphthoquinonoid plant-product. The method was validated for precision, accuracy and reproducibility, and was found to be linear over the concentration range of 1-1000 microg/ml; the limits of detection and quantitation were 8 and 20 ng, respectively. The technique was used to determine the amount of diospyrin in plant extracts from four climatic regions in India. It was also applied for differentiation and separation of 27 naphthyl compounds. While a composition of 50:50 was preferable for dimeric compounds, the composition 40:60 was a better choice for the monomers. Also, the isomeric alpha- and beta-naphthols and their dimers could be distinguished by conversion into the respective methyl ethers. 相似文献

The uptake of 22 cations at tracer concentrations has been studied over hydrous tin dioxide exchanger material. A granular variety of tin dioxide was prepared from the reaction of tin(IV) chloride with NaOH solution, and the formula of the material was ascertained to be SnO2·1.7 H2O. Radiochemical separation of carrier-free234Th from238U and113mIn from113Sn was achieved over a tin dioxide column. The separated products were of high radionuclidic purity. This article addresses the problem of oscillating laminar electrokinetic liquid flow in an infinitely extended circular microchannel. Based on the Debye-Huckel approximation for low surface potential at the channel wall, a complex variable approach is used to obtain an analytical solution for the flow. The complex counterparts of the flow rate and the current are linearly dependent on the pressure gradient and the external electric field. This property is used to show that Onsager's principle of reciprocity continues to be valid (involving the complex quantities) for the stated problem. During oscillating pressure-driven flow, the electroviscous effect for a given value of the normalized reciprocal electrical double-layer (EDL) thickness is observed to attain a maximum at a certain normalized frequency. In general, an increasing normalized frequency results in a reduction of EDL effects, leading to (i). a volumetric flow rate in the case of streaming potential approaching that predicted by the theory without EDL effects, and (ii). a reduction in the volumetric flow rate in the case of electroosmosis. 相似文献

Titanium phosphate as ion exchanger for column operation has been prepared by mixing TiCl4 and H3PO4 in suitable proportion. The ratio of titanium: phosphate was obtained to be 1:2.02. The uptake of Na+, K+, Rb+, Cs+, Ag+, Ca2+, Sr2+, Ba2+, Pb2+, Sc3+, Co3+, Y3+, Tb3+, Zr4+ and Th4+ cations at very small concentrations has been studied on this exchanger. The data indicated that the different cations are adsorbed in the exchanger by different mechanisms. Radiochemical separations of carrier free95Nb from95Zr, UX1 from U and45Ca from46Sc have been achieved by adopting very simple chemical procedures through a column of titanium phosphate. The -spectrum of the separated95Nb, UX1 and46Sc showed that the products are of high radionuclidic purity. The individual separation procedures took less than 20 min and the yields are quantitative. 相似文献

This paper has addressed analytically the problem of laminar flow in microchannels with rectangular cross-section subjected to a time-dependent sinusoidal pressure gradient and a sinusoidal electric field. The analytical solution has been determined based on the Debye-Hückel approximation of a low surface potential at the channel wall. We have demonstrated that Onsager's principle of reciprocity is valid for this problem. Parametric studies of streaming potential have shown the dependence of the electroviscous effect not only on the Debye length, but also on the oscillation frequency and the microchannel width. Parametric studies of electroosmosis demonstrate that the flow rate decreases due to an increase in frequency. The obtained solutions for both the streaming potential and electroosmotic flows become those for flow between two parallel plates in the limit of a large aspect ratio. 相似文献

Cesium and potassium were determined in muscle-tissues of squid, dover sole, albacore, and bocaccio by NAA. Potassium was
measured instrumentally, while cesium was radio-chemically separated. For the separation of cesium, hydrated antimony pentoxide
(HAP) was used to retain24Na, and ammonium molybdophosphate (AMP) was used to absorb quantitatively the radiocesium,134mCs. The cesium and potassium contents were based on measuring the short-lived radionuclide of cesium, 2.90 h-134mCs, and 12.4 h-42K. The mean concentrations of cesium found, based on 3–4 replicate measurements for each fish, were: 4.18±0.32 ng/g squid,

A new stable chelating resin was synthesized by incorporating 2-aminothiophenol into Merrifield polymer through C-N covalent
bond and characterized by elemental analysis, IR and thermal study. The sorption capacity of the newly formed resin for Hg2+ as a function of pH has been studied using 203Hg radioisotope. The resin exhibits no affinity to alkali or alkaline earth metal ions and common anions. The separation of
mercury(II) in presence of different alkali and alkaline earth metal ions (Na+, K+, Mg2+, Ca2+, Sr2+, Ba2+), common anions (ClO4
−, SO4
2−) and other diverse ions (Ag+, Cu2+, Pb2+, Fe3+, Ni2+ and Zn2+) has been checked. In column operation it has been observed that Hg2+ content of the waste water can be removed at usual pH of natural water. Mercury was determined by isotope dilution method
and the concentration of Hg2+ in the waste water spiked with 203Hg was found to be 0.05 to 0.09 μg/ml. 相似文献
