A new copper dispersed ceramic-graphite composite electrode was fabricated by the initial mixing of copper nitrate and (3-mercaptopropyl)trimethoxy silane (MPS) followed by stirring with graphite powder. The combination of the metal catalysis and the advantages of the ceramic composite favored the electrocatalytic reduction of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) at a reduced overpotential of -0.2 V with good sensitivity, stability and reproducibility. The sensor showed a good linear response to H2O2 in the range from 8.3 x 10(-6) M to 2.0 x 10(-3) M with a correlation coefficient of 0.9989 and the detection limit was 6.2 x 10(-6) M (S/N =3). 相似文献

The precipitation behaviour of basic plutonium(IV) compounds from dilute nitric acid medium with aliphatic dicarboxylic acids has been investigated. Unlike plutonium(IV) oxalate, which is precipitated in acid medium (1–4M), the higher dicarboxylates precipitate in 0.9–2.5 pH range and their elemental analysis indicate Pu/dicarboxylate ratio of 11. The mode of formation, composition, solubility and thermal degradation behaviour for plutonium(IV) hydroxosuccinate has been studied. The hydroxy group determination by kinetic titration using fluoride complexing revealed that the compound has a Pu:OH ratio of 11 and determination of bridging oxygen group gave a Pu:O ratio of 10.5 suggest its formation as hydroxysuccinate having an oxobridged formula. 相似文献

A recently proposed orthonormality constrained orbital optimization technique is operationally modified further by coupling it to a gradient biased method, namely the steepest descent procedure of McWeeny. The hybrid technique developed in this way is shown to have better convergence properties in closed and unrestricted open-shell calculations. The technique can be adapted to MCSCF procedures as well. The important role played by "orbital symmetries" in the operation of the method is analysed. Similarities and differences of the present method with the orthogonal gradient method are pointed out. Possible avenues of circumventing convergence difficulty that one may encounter in pathological cases, particularly in ab initio calculations involving extended basis set, are suggested. 相似文献

One of the most significant issues of the last few decades has been tracing for renewable energy sources. Animal fleshing (ANFL) is the most common proteinaceous solid waste accured during the production of leather and it must be disposed of in an environmentally responsible manner. This paper is attempts to assess the biogas production from solid waste originating from the chrome based tannery. Anaerobic digestion of these wastes will be a viable option for waste stabilization and energy production in the form of biogas to be utilized in the industry. The bio-methane potential of the wastes were examined by mixing these wastes with various sources of inoculum and different inoculum to substrate (I/S) ratio considered. The batch experiments were carried out in 2.5 l glass reactors with a various source of inoculumviz., Cow Dung (CD), Elephant Dung (ED) and Bio-Digested Slurry (BDS) with varied inoculum to substrate (LFs) ratios for a retention time of 50 days with replications. The results obtained from the experiments showed that BDS:LF (25:75) had the highest gas production of 14505 ml (651.85 ml CH4g?1 VS) followed by CD:LF (50:50) produced 12072.5 ml (789.36 ml CH4g?1 VS) and ED:LF (75:25) produced 11252.5 ml (1492.08 ml CH4g?1 VS)with a methane content of 63.77, 61.92 and 62.72%, respectively. 相似文献

The retention behavior of uranium, thorium and lanthanides has been investigated with amide modified reversed phase C18 supports using α-hydroxy isobutyric acid (α-HIBA) as the mobile phase. Four structurally different amide moieties namely, 4-hydroxy-N,N-dihexyl butyramide (4HHBA), 4-hydroxy-N,N-di-2-ethylhexylhexanamide (4HEHHA), bis(N,N,N′,N′-2-ethylhexyl)malonamide (B2EHM) and N-methyl-tris(dihexylcarbamoyl-3-methoxy)pivolamide (MTDCMPA) have been synthesized and studied. Among the various amide coated columns, the supports modified with 4HHBA, B2EHM and MTDCMPA exhibit an interesting retention for uranium and thorium, which is different from 4HEHHA modified support. The retention time for uranium and thorium increases with increasing amide concentration for 4HHBA, B2EHM and MTDCMPA supports, while the same decreases with increasing 4HEHHA content. However, the separation factor for uranium and thorium is greater on a 4HEHHA support, compared to an unmodified C18 column, reflecting the amide's preferential complexation of uranium over thorium.Columns modified with 4HHBA, B2EHM and MTDCMPA exhibit relatively higher retentions for lanthanides. However, MTDCMPA modified support shows a different elution profile for lanthanides compared to 4HHBA, and B2EHM modified columns. Individual separations of heavier lanthanides, i.e., from gadolinium to lutetium also have been achieved using 4HHBA and B2EHM modified supports.The influence of modifier content, mobile phase concentration and its pH on the retention of metal ions has also been studied. Based on these investigations, an efficient high performance liquid chromatographic method (HPLC) has been developed for the rapid separation of uranium from thorium as well as for the individual separation of heavier lanthanides. 相似文献

The use of dioctyl sulfoxide (DOSO) as a stabilizer for scintillation counting of uranium(VI), plutonium(IV) and americium(III) has been investigated. It has been observed that the addition of 2% DOSO to the scintillator solution results in a decrease in count rate of Am(III), which is about one third of that obtained with 2% TOPO. Uranium(VI) could be counted with almost the same efficiency with DOSO, TOPO, or as such without any stabilizer.
