A new explicitly correlated CCSD(T)-F12 approximation is presented and tested for 23 molecules and 15 chemical reactions. The F12 correction strongly improves the basis set convergence of correlation and reaction energies. Errors of the Hartree-Fock contributions are effectively removed by including MP2 single excitations into the auxiliary basis set. Using aug-cc-pVTZ basis sets the CCSD(T)-F12 calculations are more accurate and two orders of magnitude faster than standard CCSD(T)/aug-cc-pV5Z calculations. 相似文献

Alkylated perfluorooctanesulfonamides are compounds of environmental concern. To make these compounds available for environmental and toxicological studies, a series of N-alkylated perfluorooctanesulfonamides and structurally related compounds were synthesized by reaction of the corresponding perfluoroalkanesulfonyl fluoride with a suitable primary or secondary amine. Perfluoroalkanesulfonamidoethanols were obtained from the N-alkyl perfluoroalkanesulfonamides either by direct alkylation with bromoethanol or alkylation with acetic acid 2-bromo-ethyl ester followed by hydrolysis of the acetate. N-Alkyl perfluorooctanesulfonamidoacetates were synthesized in an analogous way by alkylation of N-alkyl perfluoroalkanesulfonamides with a bromo acetic acid ester, followed by basic ester hydrolysis. Alternatively, N-alkyl perfluoroalkanesulfonamides can be alkylated with an appropriate alcohol using the Mitsunobu reaction. Perfluorooctanesulfonamide was synthesized from the perfluorooctanesulfonyl fluoride via the azide by reduction with Zn/HCl. All perfluorooctanesulfonamides contained linear as well as branched C8F17 isomers, typically in a 10:1 to 30:1 ratio. The crystal structures of N-ethyl and N,N-diethyl perfluorooctanesulfonamide show that the S-N bond has considerable double bond character. This double bond character results in a significant rotational barrier around the S-N bond (ΔG≠ = 62-71 kJ mol−1) and a preferred solid state and solution conformation in which the N-alkyl groups are oriented opposite to the perfluorooctyl group to minimize steric crowding around the S-N bond. 相似文献

Methanol decomposition and oxidation on Pd(111) at millibar pressure were studied by in situ polarization-modulation infrared reflection absorption spectroscopy (PM-IRAS), on-line gas chromatography and pre- and postreaction X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Various dehydrogenation products such as methoxy CH3O, formaldehyde CH2O, formyl CHO, and CO could be spectroscopically identified. Methanol oxidation proceeds via dehydrogenation to formaldehyde CH2O, which either desorbs or is further dehydrogenated to CO, which is subsequently oxidized to CO2. Carbonaceous overlayers that are present during the reaction may favorably affect the selectivity toward CH2O. Various end-substituted distyrylbenzenes have been synthesized to serve as guest molecules in inclusion compounds to promote efficient energy transport along one-dimensional channels. Their optical and photophysical properties have been characterized at both experimental and theoretical levels. All molecules display a large transition dipole moment between the ground state and lowest excited state and hence a short radiative lifetime (on the order of 1-2 ns). They also exhibit a large spectral overlap between the emission and absorption spectra, which enables efficient energy transport between molecules arranged in a head-to-tail configuration in nanochannels. Hopping rates on the order of 10(12) s(-1) are calculated at a full quantum-chemical level; this is much larger than the radiative lifetimes and opens the way for energy migration over large distances. Changes in the nature of the terminal substituents are found to modulate the optical properties weakly but to impact significantly the energy transfer rates. 相似文献

The branched pentasaccharide chain of ganglioside GM1 is a prominent cell surface ligand, for example, for cholera toxin or tumor growth-regulatory homodimeric galectins. This activity profile via protein recognition prompted us to examine the binding properties of peptides with this specificity. Our study provides insights into the mechanism of molecular interaction of this thus far unexplored size limit of the protein part. We used three pentadecapeptides in a combined approach of mass spectrometry, NMR spectroscopy and molecular modelling to analyze the ligand binding in solution. Availability of charged and hydrophobic functionalities affected the intramolecular flexibility of the peptides differently. Backfolding led to restrictions in two cases; the flexibility was not reduced significantly by association of the ligand in its energetically privileged conformations. Major contributions to the interaction energy arise from the sialic acid moiety contacting Arg/Lys residues and the N-terminal charge. Considerable involvement of stacking between the monovalent ligand and aromatic rings could not be detected. This carbohydrate binding strategy is similar to how an adenoviral fiber knob targets sialylated glycans. Rational manipulation for an affinity enhancement can now be directed to reduce the flexibility, exploit the potential for stacking and acquire the cross-linking capacity of the natural lectins by peptide attachment to a suitable scaffold. 相似文献

A general algorithm allowing the numerical modeling of the time and space dependence of product formation in spherical reaction volumes is described. The algorithm is described by the complete set of mass balance equations. On the basis of these equations, the effects of the diffusion coefficient, reaction rate, bead size, reagent excess, and packing density of the resin beads on the overall reaction rates are determined for second-order reactions. Experimental data of reaction progress are employed to calculate reaction rates and diffusion coefficients in polymer-supported reactions. In addition, the conditions for shell-like product formation are determined, and various strategies for the radial patterning of resin beads are compared. The effect of diffusion on polymer-supported enzyme-catalyzed reactions of the Michaelis-Menten type is treated, as well. Finally, the effects of typical nonideal solid-phase phenomena, namely, the inhomogeneity of rate constants and the concentration dependence of diffusion coefficients, on overall rates are discussed. 相似文献
