Advances in Surface-Enhanced Fluorescence   总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4  
We report recent achievements in metal-enhanced fluorescence from our laboratory. Several fluorophore systems have been studied on metal particle-coated surfaces and in colloid suspensions. In particular, we describe a distance dependent enhancement on silver island films (SIFs), release of self-quenching of fluorescence near silver particles, and the applications of fluorescence enhancement near metalized surfaces to bioassays. We discuss a number of methods for various shaped silver particle deposition on surfaces.  相似文献

This paper presents how the equations of magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) in primitive form should be written in conservative form with the inclusion of a divergence source along with a divergence wave and how a physically correct sonic fix can be embedded directly in the fluxes. The numerical scheme was applied to a blast wave problem in which a circular energetic plasma is released in a free and magnetized medium with a reflected wall. The results show that the method with the new sonic fix can handle the divergence condition on the magnetic field and produces an almost uniform shock compression in all directions, resolving the shocks and discontinuities rather sharply. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

A novel metal–organic framework [Zn3(Ni-H2TPPP)(Ni-H4TPPP)(Ni-H5TPPP) ⋅ 7(CH3)2NH2 ⋅ DMF ⋅ 7 H2O] (where Ni-HxTPPP (x=2,4,5) are partially deprotonated [5,10,15,20-tetrakis(3-(phosphonatophenyl)-porphyrinato(2-))]nickel(II) species), IPCE-2Ni , with outstanding proton conductivity (1.0×10−2 S cm−1 at 75 °C and 95 % relative humidity) has been obtained. The high concentration of free phosphonate groups and compensating dimethylammonium cations bound by hydrogen bonds in the unique crystal structure of IPCE-2Ni is a key factor responsible for the observed high proton conductivity, which is one order of magnitude higher than for the corresponding MOF based on 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(4-(phosphonatophenyl)porphyrinato(2-))]nickel(II) IPCE-1Ni and comparable with that of leaders among MOFs.  相似文献

As an alternative to conventional sterilization methods the plasma ions created from high voltage produce radicals which have a direct impact on microorganisms in water. Cell membrane fluidity is an important factor in survival as the fluidity allows for essential cell functions in which pH and fatty acids play a major role. This study investigated the effect of plasma application upon pH and fatty acid profiles of Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. Results showed that plasma sterilization is not predominantly a result of changes to pH levels or fatty acid contents in the bacterial cell membrane.  相似文献

In this article, we describe a parametric study of the effects of the size distribution (SD) and the concentration of nanospheres in ethanol on the angular reflectance. Calculations are based on an effective medium approach in which the effective dielectric constant of the mixture is obtained using the Maxwell–Garnett formula. The detectable size limits of gold, aluminum, and silver nanospheres on a 50-nm-thick gold film are calculated to investigate the sensitivity of the reflectance to the SD and the concentration of the nanospheres. The following assumptions are made: (1) the total number of particles in the unit volume of suspension is constant, (2) the nanospheres in the suspension on a gold film have a SD with three different concentrations, and (3) there is no agglomeration and the particles have a log-normal SD, where the effective diameter, d eff and the effective variance, ν eff are given. The dependence of the reflectance on the d eff, ν eff, and the width of the SD are also investigated numerically. The angular variation of the reflectance as a function of the incident angle shows a strong dependence on the effective size of the metallic nanospheres. The results confirm that the size of the nanospheres (d eff <100 nm) can be detected by reflected light from the bottom surface of a gold film with a reasonable sensitivity if a proper angle of incidence is chosen based on the type of metallic particles on a gold thin film at λ = 632 nm. We show that the optimum incident angle to characterize the size of nanospheres on a gold film is between 70° and 75° for a given concentration with a particular SD.  相似文献

Biosorption of Au(III) and Cu(II) from dilute aqueous solutions was investigated by biomass of the non-living Cetraria islandica (L.) Ach. The removal and recovery of gold and copper were studied by applying batch technique. The experimental parameters such as the pH of the solution, contact time, the amount of Cetraria islandica (L.) Ach. (dried lichen), the concentration of metals on retention and eluents kind and amount have been investigated. Au(III) and Cu(II) were adsorbed on the dried lichen at pH 3 and pH 8, respectively. Quantitative retention (> or = 90%) was obtained within 60 minutes for metals. Maximum capacity of 1.0 g of dried lichen for biosorption of Au(III) and Cu(II) were found as 7.4 mg of Au(III) and 19.2 mg of Cu(II). It was seen that the adsorption equilibrium data conformed well to the Langmuir model and Freundlich equation for Au(III) and only Freundlich equation for Cu(II). The method proposed in this study was applied to spiked mineral water analysis and metals adsorbed on the lichens were quantitatively (> or = 90%) recovered from mineral water samples by using 0.5 mol L(-1) HCl.  相似文献

Problems that are modeled by nonlinear evolution equations occur in many areas of applied sciences. In the present study, we deal with the negative order KdV equation and the generalized Zakharov system and derive some further results using the so‐called first integral method. ZnO:Al ceramics (Zn:Al, 0.95:0.05) were prepared by using sol‐gel derived nanocrystalline powders. XRD patterns of the doped ceramics revealed the existence of both zincite (JCPDS 36‐1451) and gahnite (JCPDS 5‐0669) phases. Gahnite phase (ZnAl2O4) was segregated along the ZnO grain boundaries. At the sintering temperature of 1200 °C, relative density of the undoped and Al doped ceramics were measured as 0.695 and 0.628, respectively.
