Automotive designers should design a robust engine cooling system which works well in both normal and severe driving conditions. When vehicles are keyed-off suddenly after some distance of hill-climbing driving, the coolant temperature tends to increase drastically. This is because heat soak in the engine could not be transferred away in a timely manner, as both the water pump and cooling fan stop working after the vehicle is keyed-off. In this research, we aimed to visualize the coolant temperature trend over time before and after the vehicles were keyed-off. In order to prevent coolant temperature from exceeding its boiling point and jeopardizing engine life, a numerical model was further tested with prolonged fan and/or water pump operation after keying-off. One dimensional thermal-fluid simulation was exploited to model the vehicle’s cooling system. The behaviour of engine heat, air flow, and coolant flow over time were varied to observe the corresponding transient coolant temperatures. The robustness of this model was proven by validation with industry field test data. The numerical results provided sensible insights into the proposed solution. In short, prolonging fan operation for 500 s and prolonging both fan and water pump operation for 300 s could reduce coolant peak temperature efficiently. The physical implementation plan and benefits yielded from implementation of the electrical fan and electrical water pump are discussed.  相似文献

This study aims at developing a novel, sensitive, fast, simple and convenient method for separation and preconcentration of trace amounts of fluoxetine before its spectrophotometric determination. The method is based on combination of magnetic mixed hemimicelles solid phase extraction and dispersive micro solid phase extraction using 1-hexadecyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide coated magnetic graphene as a sorbent. The magnetic graphene was synthesized by a simple coprecipitation method and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The retained analyte was eluted using a 100 μL mixture of methanol/acetic acid (9:1) and converted into fluoxetine-β-cyclodextrin inclusion complex. The analyte was then quantified by fiber optic linear array spectrophotometry as well as mode-mismatched thermal lens spectroscopy (TLS). The factors affecting the separation, preconcentration and determination of fluoxetine were investigated and optimized. With a 50 mL sample and under optimized conditions using the spectrophotometry technique, the method exhibited a linear dynamic range of 0.4–60.0 μg L−1, a detection limit of 0.21 μg L−1, an enrichment factor of 167, and a relative standard deviation of 2.1% and 3.8% (n = 6) at 60 μg L−1 level of fluoxetine for intra- and inter-day analyses, respectively. However, with thermal lens spectrometry and a sample volume of 10 mL, the method exhibited a linear dynamic range of 0.05–300 μg L−1, a detection limit of 0.016 μg L−1 and a relative standard deviation of 3.8% and 5.6% (n = 6) at 60 μg L−1 level of fluoxetine for intra- and inter-day analyses, respectively. The method was successfully applied to determine fluoxetine in pharmaceutical formulation, human urine and environmental water samples.  相似文献

We investigate a two-dimensional network simulator that models the dynamics of two-phase immiscible bulk flow where film flow can be neglected. We present a method for simulating the detailed dynamical process where the two phases are allowed to break up into bubbles, and bubbles are allowed to merge together. The notions of drainage and imbibition are not adequate to describe this process since there is no clear front between the fluids. In fact, the simulator is constructed so that one can study the behaviour of the system far from inlets and outlets, where the two fluids have been mixed together so much that all initial fronts have broken up. The simulator gives the fractional flow as a function of the saturation of each of the fluids. For the case of two fluids with equal viscosity, we classify flow regimes that are parametrized by the capillary number.  相似文献

Preparative high-speed counter-current chromatography (HSCCC) combined with conventional column chromatography (CC) has been used for isolation and purification of methyllycaconitine from Delphinium pseudocyanthum. n-Hexane-ethyl acetate-methanol-water, 1:1:1:2 (v/v), was used as the solvent system for HSCCC. Separation of methyllycaconitine from an HSCCC fraction was successfully achieved by CC on silica gel using chloroform-methanol, 7:1 (v/v), as mobile phase. A total of 113.45 mg methyllycaconitine of purity >95% was obtained from 1.044 g extract of D. pseudocyanthum. Its structure was identified by MS and NMR.

Every year, tuberculosis affects the lungs of millions of people and rifampicin is the commonly used medicine for its treatment due to its antibiotic nature. The frequent use of rifampicin may lead to its increased concentration in the water resources. This research work is focused on the cloud point extraction (CPE) procedure for the preconcentration of rifampicin prior to its determination in water. The UV/vis spectrophotometric method was adapted for the measurement of rifampicin content after the phase separation. Triton-X 100 was used as the nonionic surfactant which contains hydrophilic polyethylene chain feasible for the extraction of analyte. Various analytical parameters that can affect the extraction efficacy were optimized to achieve linearity of the proposed method in the concentration range of 3.54–81.41 mgL–1. The Limit of detection and quantification were 1.261 and 4.212 mgL1, respectively. The Preconcentration factor was 40 with relative standard deviation (%RSD) of 2.504%. The standard addition methodology was adopted for the validation of this procedure and effectively applied for the determination of rifampicin in real wastewater samples.  相似文献

This work is based on ideas of Ili? [A. Ili?, The energy of unitary Cayley graphs, Linear Algebra Appl. 431 (2009) 1881-1889] on the energy of unitary Cayley graph. For a finite commutative ring R with unity , the unitary Cayley graph of R is the Cayley graph whose vertex set is R and the edge set is {{a,b}:a,bRanda-bR×}, where R× is the group of units of R. We study the eigenvalues of the unitary Cayley graph of a finite commutative ring and some gcd-graphs and compute their energy. Moreover, we obtain the energy for the complement of unitary Cayley graphs.  相似文献

Derk Pereboom has advanced a four-case manipulation argument that, he claims, undermines both libertarian accounts of free action not committed to agent-causation and compatibilist accounts of such action. The first two cases are meant to be ones in which the key agent is not responsible for his actions owing to his being manipulated. We first consider a “hard-line” response to this argument that denies that the agent is not morally responsible in these cases. We argue that this response invites a dialectically uncharitable reading of the argument. We then propose an alternative interpretation; it affirms that, at least prima facie, the manipulated agent in the first two cases is not responsible. Finally, we question Pereboom’s rationale for why the manipulation in these cases subverts responsibility.  相似文献

This paper deals with problems of determining possible values of earliest and latest starting times of an activity in networks with minimal time lags and imprecise durations that are represented by means of interval or fuzzy numbers. Although minimal time lags are practical in different projects, former researchers have not considered these problems.After proposing propositions which reduce the search space, a novel polynomial algorithm is presented to compute intervals of possible values of latest starting times in interval-valued networks with minimal time lags. High output power 40 GHz 1.55 μm passively mode-locked surface-etched distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) lasers with monolithically integrated semiconductor optical amplifiers are reported. These are based on an optimized AlGaInAs/InP epitaxial structure with a three quantum well active layer and an optical trap layer. The device produces near transform limited Gaussian pulses with a pulse duration of 3.3 ps. An average output power during mode-locked operation of 130 mW was achieved with a corresponding peak power of >1 W.  相似文献
