A simple and sensitive method has been developed for the trace determination of bismuth in aqueous samples by a combination of solid‐phase extraction and hydride generation atomic absorption spectrometry. The method is based on the use of a column packed with 2‐mercaptobenzothiazole immobilized on sodium dodecyl sulfate coated alumina. Different parameters influencing the separation and preconcentration of bismuth such as pH, sample volume, type, and concentration of eluent, and the flow rate of sample and eluent were studied. A sample volume of 500.0 mL resulted in a preconcentration factor of 100. The precision (relative standard deviation, N = 10) at the 300 ng/L level and the limit of detection (3s) were found to be 2.3% and 12 ng/L, respectively. The developed method was successfully applied to the determination of bismuth in natural water samples and two certified reference materials. 相似文献

Gallic acid (GA), a plant-derived ubiquitous secondary polyphenol metabolite, can be a useful dietary supplement. This in vitro study’s primary purpose was to assess the anti-aging properties of GA using rat embryonic fibroblast (REF) cells, antidiabetic effects via pancreatic islet cells, and finally, elucidating the molecular mechanisms of this natural compound. REF and islet cells were isolated from fetuses and pancreas of rats, respectively. Then, several senescence-associated molecular and biochemical parameters, along with antidiabetic markers, were investigated. GA caused a significant decrease in the β-galactosidase activity and reduced inflammatory cytokines and oxidative stress markers in REF cells. GA reduced the G0/G1 phase in senescent REF cells that led cells to G2/M. Besides, GA improved the function of the β cells. Flow cytometry and spectrophotometric analysis showed that it reduces apoptosis via inhibiting caspase-9 activity. Taken together, based on the present findings, this polyphenol metabolite at low doses regulates different pathways of senescence and diabetes through its antioxidative stress potential and modulation of mitochondrial complexes activities. 相似文献

A solid phase extraction procedure for the separation and preconcentration of trace amounts of Cd(II) and Pb(II) using the alizarin red S modified TiO2 nanoparticles prior to their determination by flame atomic absorption spectrometry has been proposed. The influences of some analytical parameters such as pH, flow rates of sample and eluent, type and concentration of the eluent, and interfering ions on the recovery of Cd(II) and Pb(II) by the sorbent were investigated. The analytes were quantitatively sorbed from the aqueous solution at pH 5.5 onto a microcolumn packed with the sorbent and recovered with 2.0?mL of 1.5?mol?L?1 hydrochloric acid. Under the optimum experimental conditions, the detection limits for Cd(II) and Pb(II) were 0.11 and 0.30?ng?mL?1 and the relative standard deviations for ten replicate measurements of 5.0 and 50.0?ng?mL?1 of Cd(II) and Pb(II) were 2.1 and 1.9%, respectively. A sample volume of 200?mL resulted in a preconcentration factor of 100. The method was successfully applied to the determination of Cd(II) and Pb(II) in water and biological samples, and accuracy was examined by the recovery experiments, independent analysis using electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry, and analysis of a water standard reference material (SRM 1643e). 相似文献

NMR and LC-MS combined with an incompleted separation strategy were proposed to the simultaneous structure identification of natural products in crude extracts, and a novel method termed as NMR/LC-MS parallel dynamic spectroscopy (NMR/LC-MS PDS) was developed to discover the intrinsic correlation between retention time (Rt), mass/charge (m/z) and chemical shift (δ) data of the same constituent from mixture spectra by the co-analysis of parallelly visualized multispectroscopic datasets from LC-MS and 1H NMR. The extracted ion chromatogram (XIC) and 1H NMR signals deriving from the same individual constituent were correlated through fraction ranges and intensity changing profiles in NMR/LC-MS PDS spectrum due to the signal amplitude co-variation resulted from the concentration variation of constituents in a series of incompletely separated fractions. NMR/LC-MS PDS was applied to identify 12 constituents in an active herbal extract including flavonol glycosides, which was separated into a series of fractions by flash column chromatography. The complementary spectral information of the same individual constituent in the crude extract was discovered simultaneously from mixture spectra. Especially, two groups of co-eluted isomers were identified successfully. The results demonstrated that NMR/LC-MS PDS combined with the incompleted separation strategy achieved the similar function of on-line LC-NMR-MS analysis in off-line mode and had the potential for simplifying and accelerating the analytical routes for structure identification of constituents in herbs or their active extracts. 相似文献

Ce3+ doped lithium (6Li) silicate glasses are thermal neutron detectors. Prior work showed that when sodium (Na) is substituted for Li the scintillation efficiency, under beta particle stimulation, increased and then decreased as the sodium (Na) content was increased. When all the 6Li was replaced by Na no scintillation was observed. Raman spectra, acquired using a visible excitation source, provided no evidence of anomalous behavior. SEM microscopy did show some phase separation, but there was no obvious correlation with the scintillation efficiency. We have reexamined these glass samples using deep UV Raman excitation which reduces fluorescence interference. The newly acquired spectra show evidence of phase separation in the glasses. Specifically we see a peak at 800 cm? 1 Raman shift which can be assigned to a vitreous silica moiety that results from phase separation. There is a strong correlation between this peak's area, the scintillation efficiency, and the Na content. The observed trend suggests that phase separation enhances scintillation and addition of Na reduces the amount of phase separation. We also see evidence of at least two defect structures that can be tentatively assigned to a three-membered ring structure and an oxygen vacancy. The latter is fairly strongly correlated with enhanced scintillation efficiency. 相似文献

A vanadium ion‐imprinted polymer was synthesized in the presence of V(V) and N‐benzoyl‐N‐phenyl hydroxyl amine using 4‐vinyl pyridine as the monomer, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate as the cross linker and 2,2’‐azobis(isobutyronitrile) as the initiator. The imprinted V(V) ions were completely removed by leaching the polymer with 5 mol/L nitric acid, and the polymer structure was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy. The ion‐imprinted polymer was used as the sorbent in the development of the solid‐phase extraction method for V(V) prior to its determination by electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry. The maximum sorption capacity for V(V) ions was 26.7 mg/g at pH 4.0. Under the optimum conditions, for a sample volume of 150.0 mL, an enrichment factor of 289.0 and a detection limit of 6.4 ng/L were obtained. Planar waveguides were made using oxidised porous silicon layers. Then, they were impregnated with Congo Red or Disperse Red 1 dyes. Optical losses were investigated before and after impregnation. In our case, the losses of impregnated waveguides were always higher than those of non-impregnated ones. In order to achieve a better understanding of the origin of these losses, we not only studied the absorbance of solutions which would impregnate the porous layers but also the reflectance spectra of the obtained composite materials. According to the measurements, the increase in losses in the visible spectrum depends on the intrinsic absorption of the dye while in NIR, the increase would be due to an accumulation of dried dye on the surface of the waveguide which would give rise to the surface scattering losses. 相似文献
