First preparation of biotinylated gradient polyethylene surface to bind photoactive caged streptavidin

A gradient polyethylene (PE) surface was created through corona treatment, in which the corona power increased along the 5 cm length of the PE. The gradient surface was treated with polyethyleneimine and then biotin. Fluorescein-conjugated streptavidin (SAV) caged within 5-carboxymethoxy-2-nitrobenzyl (CMNB) adsorbed onto the biotinylated gradient PE surface following molecular recognition principles. Photoirradiation decomposed the CMNB cage and allowed the fluorescein-conjugated SAV to fluoresce, the intensity of which increased gradually along the PE surface.     

A SAPO-11 Silicoaluminophosphate Molecular Sieve with Stable Crystal Structure

A SAPO-11 silicoaluminophosphate molecular sieve with stable crystal structure was synthesized for the first time. After removing template by calcination, its crystal space group still retains Icm2 which the as-synthesized has. The catalyst deriving from the present SAPO-I 1 materials shows higher isomerization selectivity and higher paraffin hydroisomerization yield than those reported elsewhere.     

固相萃取光度法测定饮用水中挥发酚的研究

研究了用Waters Sep-Park-C18小柱固相萃取光度法测定饮用水中挥发酚的方法。水样中经水汽蒸馏分离后的挥发酚，用4－氨基安替比林显色，显色产物可用C18固相萃小柱萃取、乙醇洗脱后用分光光度法测定。方法污染小，操作简便，便于批量样品处理，用于饮用水中挥发酚的测定，结果令人满意。     

5C + 1S] annulation: a facile and efficient synthetic route toward functionalized 2,3-dihydrothiopyran-4-ones

[reaction: see text] A facile and efficient synthetic route toward highly substituted 2,3-dihydrothiopyran-4-ones 2 has been developed via a formal [5C + 1S] annulation of readily available alpha-alkenoyl ketene-(S,S)-acetals 1 with sodium sulfide nonahydrated salt (Na2S x 9H2O) and utilized in the synthesis of 2-(4-chlorophenyl)-6-(morpholin-4-yl)-4H-thiopyran-4-one 5l, an inhibitor of DNA-dependent protein kinase (DNA-PK).     

Phenanthroline complexes bearing diamide-anion recognition sites

The synthesis and anion binding properties of new ruthenium(II) and cobalt(II) phenanthroline complexes, containing two amide subunits are described. Evidence for anion binding in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) solution was obtained from u.v.–vis titration experiments. Results indicated that these receptors showed strong affinity for F⁻ and AcO⁻, and showed weak affinity for OH⁻ and H₂PO ₄ ⁻ , and showed no affinity for Cl⁻, Br⁻, I⁻. These receptors interacted with various anions examined through hydrogen-bond formation.     

Four New Podocarpane‐Type Trinorditerpenes from Aleurites moluccana

Four new podocarpane‐type trinorditerpenenes, (5β,10α)‐12,13‐dihydroxypodocarpa‐8,11,13‐trien‐3‐one ( 1 ), (5β,10α)‐12‐hydroxy‐13‐methoxypodocarpa‐8,11,13‐trien‐3‐one ( 2 ), (5β,10α)‐13‐hydroxy‐12‐methoxypodocarpa‐8,11,13‐trien‐3‐one ( 3 ), and (3α,5β,10α)‐13‐methoxypodocarpa‐8,11,13‐triene‐3,12‐diol ( 4 ), together with four known diterpenes, 12‐hydroxy‐13‐methylpodocarpa‐8,11,13‐trien‐3‐one ( 5 ), spruceanol ( 6 ), ent‐3α‐hydroxypimara‐8(14),15‐dien‐12‐one ( 7 ), and ent‐3β,14α‐hydroxypimara‐7,9(11),15‐triene‐12‐one ( 8 ), were isolated from the twigs and leaves of Aleurites moluccana. Their structures were elucidated by means of comprehensive spectroscopic analyses, including NMR and MS. Except 8 , all compounds were evaluated for their cytotoxicity; compound 4 exhibited moderate inhibitory activity against Raji cells with an IC₅₀ value of 4.24 μg/ml.     

Poly（meta-phenylene） Derivative with Rigid Twisted Biphenyl Units in Backbone： Synthesis, Structural Characterization, Photophysical Properties and Electroluminescence

A soluble poly(meta-phenylene)derivative with rigid twisted biphenyl unit was synthesized by the Yamamoto coupling reaction.The polymer is soluble in common organic solvents,and the number-average molecular weight is about 6500.The UV-Vis and quantum chemical calculation indicate that the different conformation segments named "conformers" exist in the polymer backbones;it was also further confirmed by the single crystal X-ray diffraction study of the dimeric model compound.The π-π transition of biphenyl segments of twisted and planar conformations made the polymer exhibit a strong absorption around 256 nm and a weak absorption at about 300 nm.Furthermore,the polymer exhibits a strong UV photoluminescence at 372 nm when the excitation wavelengths are longer than 300 nm.The ultraviolet-emitting electroluminescence(EL)device with the single layer structure shows EL λmax of the derivative at 370 nm.     

A Selective Cholesterol Biosensor Based on Composite Film Modified Electrode for Amperometric Detection

An amperometric cholesterol biosensor based on immobilization of cholesterol oxidase in a Prussian blue (PB)/polypyrrole (PPy) composite film on the surface of a glassy carbon electrode was fabricated. Hydrogen peroxide produced by the enzymatic reaction was catalytically reduced on the PB film electrode at 0 V with a sensitivity of 39 μA (mol/L)^?1. Cholesterol in the concentration range of 10^?5 ? 10^?4 mol/L was determined with a detection limit of 6 × 10^?7 mol/L by amperometric method. Normal coexisting compounds in the bio‐samples such as ascorbic acid and uric acid do not interfere with the determination. The excellent properties of the sensor in sensitivity and selectivity are attributed to the PB/PPy layer modified on the sensor.     

Structural changes in the monomeric despentapeptide (B30-B26) insulin crystal

Insulin modified by the removal of its 5 B chain C terminal residues is monomeric but remains substantially potent. The crystal structures of the beef and insulin (dpi) with two molecules in the asymmetric unit has been determined by x-ray analysis. The 3-dimensional structure ofdpi proves to be generally similar to that of native molecule in 2Zn insulin. More detailed comparison reveals that the slight differences in the two independent molecules of beefdpi are distributed uniformly throughout the structure in contrast to insulin in 2Zn insulin, where the structural changes are concentrated in specific regions. The loss of symmetry in thedpi crystal appears to be the inability of the A9 serine to pack effectively in the C2 cell. The efficient packing of the sheepdpi molecule whose crystal structure has also been determined and where A9 is glycine supports this conclusion.
