Light scattering by small dielectric particles of an arbitrary axially symmetric shape is analyzed. A simple approximate expression that governs the polarizability of the particle is found under the assumption of field homogeneity inside of these particles. The expression includes four relatively simple one-dimensional integrals that can be calculated analytically for some types of particles (except for spheroids). A comparison with the numerical data obtained for various Chebyshev particles and finite cylinders showed that the obtained approximation yields acceptable results, even when the shape of scatterers is significantly different from spheroidal. For spheroids, our approximation coincides with the Rayleigh one.  相似文献

The EPR spectra of scandium acceptors and Sc2+(3d) ions are observed in 6H-SiC crystals containing a scandium impurity. The EPR spectra of scandium acceptors are characterized by comparatively small hyperfine interaction constants, whose values are consistent with the constants for other group III elements in SiC: boron, aluminum, and gallium acceptors. The EPR spectra of scandium acceptors undergo major changes in the temperature interval 20–30 K. In the low-temperature phase the EPR spectra are characterized by orthorhombic symmetry, whereas the high-temperature phase has higher axial symmetry. The EPR spectra observed at temperatures above 35 K and ascribed by the authors to Sc2+(3d) ions, or to the A 2− state of scandium, have significantly larger hyperfine structure constants and narrower lines in comparison with the EPR spectra of scandium acceptors. The parameters of these EPR spectra are close to those of Sc2+(3d) in ionic crystals and ZnS, whereas the parameters of the EPR spectra of scandium acceptors correspond more closely to the parameters of holes localized at group III atoms, in particular, at scandium atoms in GeO2. A new spectroflurometric method for the determination of adenosine disodium triphosphate (ATP) is developed. Fluorometric interaction between ATP and enoxacin (ENX)–Eu3+ complex was studied using UV–vis and fluorescence spectroscopy. Weak luminescence spectra of Eu3+ were enhanced after complexation with ENX at 589 nm and 614 nm upon excitation at 395 nm due to energy transfer from the ligand to the lanthanide ion. It was observed that luminescence spectrum of Eu3+ was strongly enhanced further at 614 nm after incorporation of ATP into the ENX–Eu3+ complex. Under optimal conditions, the enhancement of luminescence at 614 nm was responded linearly with the concentration of ATP. The linearity was maintained in the range of 1.5×10?10–1.15×10?8 M (R=0.9973) with the limit of detection (3σ) of 4.71×10?11 M. The relative standard deviation (RSD) for 9 repeated measurements of 1×10?9  M ATP was 1.25%. Successful determinations of ATP in soil, milk, and a pharmaceutical formulation with the proposed method were demonstrated.  相似文献

SNO measurements strongly constrain the central temperature of the Sun, to within a precision of much less than 1%. This result can be used to probe the parameter space of supersymmetric dark matter. In this first analysis we find a lower limit for the weakly interacting massive particle (WIMP) mass of 60 GeV. Furthermore, in the event that WIMPs create a quasi-isothermal core, they will produce a peculiar distribution of the solar neutrino fluxes measured on Earth. Typically, a WIMP with a mass of 100 GeV and annihilation cross section of 10(-34) cm(3)/sec will decrease the neutrino predictions, by up to 4% for the Cl, by 3% for the heavy water, and by 1% for the Ga detectors.  相似文献

The potential to grow filamentary GaN nanocrystals by molecular beam epitaxy on a silicon substrate with a nanosized buffer layer of silicon carbide has been demonstrated. Morphological and optical properties of the obtained system have been studied. It has been shown that the intensity of the photoluminescence spectrum peak of such structures is higher than that of the best filamentary GaN nanocrystals without the buffer silicon carbide layer by a factor of more than two.  相似文献

The magnetic properties of stainless steel have been investigated using a radio frequency (RF) high-temperature superconductivity (HTS) SQUID (Superconducting QUantum Interference Device)-based susceptometer. The nuclear grade 304 stainless steel is nonmagnetic at a normal condition but it changes to a partially ferromagnetic state associated with martensitic transformation under a plastic deformation. The magnetic moment of the 304 stainless steels was increased with an increasing cold work rate, and decreased with an increasing annealing temperature. The change of mechanical properties such as yield strength and ultimate tensile strength (UTS) are also analyzed in terms of deformation-induced martensitic transformation.  相似文献

The present study aims to investigate the propagation of time-reversed Lamb waves in acrylic cylindrical tubes as cortical-bone-mimicking phantoms. Time-reversed Lamb waves could be successfully launched in 6 acrylic tubes with wall thicknesses from 2 to 12 mm by using a modified time reversal method. The group velocities of the time-reversed Lamb waves in the acrylic tubes were measured by using the axial transmission technique. They decreased very slightly with increasing wall thickness, showing good agreement with the theoretical group velocity of the A0 Lamb wave in the acrylic plate. These results suggest that the time-reversed Lamb waves in the acrylic tubes would essentially behave as the A0 Lamb wave, consistent with the behavior of the slow guided wave in long cortical bones. It is expected that the application of the time-reversed Lamb waves in long bones would enhance clinical potential of ultrasonic technologies for the diagnosis of osteoporosis.  相似文献
