We developed and validated a gas chromatographic/ion trap mass spectrometric method for the determination of levoglucosan and the related monosaccharide anhydrides, mannosan, galactosan and 1,6-anhydro-beta-D-glucofuranose in urban atmospheric aerosols collected on quartz fiber filters. The method is based on extraction with dichloromethane-methanol (80 : 20, v/v), trimethylsilylation, multiple reaction monitoring in the tandem mass spectrometric mode using the ion at m/z 217, and the use of an internal standard calibration procedure with the structurally related compound methyl beta-L-arabinopyranoside. In addition, the method allows the quantification of other saccharidic compounds, arabitol, mannitol, glucose, fructose, inositol and sucrose, which were found to be important in summer aerosols. The recovery of levoglucosan was estimated by spiking blank filters and was better than 90%. The precision evaluated by analyzing parts of the same filters was about 2% for the monosaccharide anhydrides and 7% for the other saccharidic compounds in the case of a winter aerosol sample, and the corresponding values for a summer aerosol sample were 5% and 8%. The method was applied to urban PM(10) (particulate matter of <10 microm aerodynamic diameter) aerosols collected at Ghent, Belgium, during a 2000-2001 winter and a 2001 summer episode and revealed interesting seasonal variations. While monosaccharide anhydrides were relatively more important during the winter season owing to wood burning, the other saccharidic compounds were more prevalent during the summer season, with some of them, if not all, originating from the vegetation.  相似文献

Bioactive glass (BG), calcium hydroxyapatite (HA), and ZrO2 doped HA thin films were grown by pulsed laser deposition on Ti substrates. An UV KrF* (λ = 248 nm, τ ≥ 7 ns) excimer laser was used for the multi-pulse irradiation of the targets. The substrates were kept at room temperature or heated during the film deposition at values within the (400-550 °C) range. The depositions were performed in oxygen and water vapor atmospheres, at pressure values in the range (5-40 Pa). The HA coatings were heat post-treated for 6 h in a flux of hot water vapors at the same temperature as applied during deposition. The surface morphology, chemical composition, and crystalline quality of the obtained thin films were studied by scanning electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, and X-ray diffractometry. The films were seeded for in vitro tests with Hek293 (human embryonic kidney) cells that revealed a good adherence on the deposited layers. Biocompatibility tests showed that cell growth was better on HA than on BG thin films.  相似文献

We review and generalize recent results on advection of particles in open time-periodic hydrodynamical flows. First, the problem of passive advection is considered, and its fractal and chaotic nature is pointed out. Next, we study the effect of weak molecular diffusion or randomness of the flow. Finally, we investigate the influence of passive advection on chemical or biological activity superimposed on open flows. The nondiffusive approach is shown to carry some features of a weak diffusion, due to the finiteness of the reaction range or reaction velocity. (c) 2000 American Institute of Physics.  相似文献

Electrostatic potentials calculated from AM1 wave functions have been compared with ab initio STO-3G values and qualitative agreement has been found. Atomic charges derived from AM1 electrostatic potentials for both experimental and AM1 optimized geometries are of comparable quality with STO-3G potential derived charges. These results suggest that the AM1 electrostatic potential may be useful both in its own right and also for deriving atomic charges for use in molecular dynamics studies.  相似文献

A theoretical and experimental study of the field induced magnetic moment and magnetic anisotropy of holmium aluminum garnet and terbium aluminium garnet is presented. The torque curves due to the induced field dependent anisotropy obtained at 4.2 K in applied fields up to 7 T are compared with the theoretical calculation. The results indicate that the two systems show remarkably similar magnetic behaviours, and the calculation based upon a simplified effective Hamiltonian with the crystal field parameters determined from spectroscopic data accounts for the experimental results with satisfactory accuracy.  相似文献

In the present study, compactin production by Penicillium brevicompactum WA 2315 was optimized using solid-state fermentation. The initial one factor at a time approach resulted in improved compactin production of 905 μg gds−1 compared to initial 450 μg gds−1. Subsequently, nutritional, physiological, and biological parameters were screened using fractional factorial and Box–Behnken design. The fractional factorial design studied inoculum age, inoculum volume, pH, NaCl, NH4NO3, MgSO4, and KH2PO4. All parameters were found to be significant except pH and KH2PO4. The Box–Behnken design studied inoculum volume, inoculum age, glycerol, and NH4NO3 at three different levels. Inoculum volume (p = 0.0013) and glycerol (p = 0.0001) were significant factors with greater effect on response. The interaction effects were not significant. The validation study using model-defined conditions resulted in an improved yield of 1,250 μg gds−1 compactin. Further improvement in yield was obtained using fed batch mode of carbon supplementation. The feeding of glycerol (20% v/v) on day 3 resulted in further improved compactin yield of 1,406 μg gds−1. The present study demonstrates that agro-industrial residues can be successfully used for compactin production, and statistical experiment designs provide an easy tool to improve the process conditions for secondary metabolite production.  相似文献
