The modification of perfluorinated proton exchange membranes (e.g. Nafion) utilizing a layer by layer (LbL) electrostatic assembly of oppositely charged biophilic polymers such as poly-l-lysine as positive layer and dsDNA as a negative layer is developed to protect the interface between the catalyst layer and the membrane in a low temperature fuel cell. Various physicochemical measurements including water uptake, proton conductivity and surface tension were investigated for both the as-received Nafion and the biopolymeric LbL modified Nafion. The smaller water contact angle and the less swelling characteristics of the biopolymer modified Nafion membrane was founded compared to that of as-received Nafion. This clearly indicates that the more hydrophilic surface of biopolymeric layers on Nafion plays an important role in the enhanced dimensional stability. In addition, a potential hypothesis explaining the higher proton conductivity from the LbL biopolymeric film coated Nafion is suggested. 相似文献

We provide a general procedure for characterizing radical-like functions of skew polynomial and skew Laurent polynomial rings under grading hypotheses. In particular, we are able to completely characterize the Wedderburn and Levitzki radicals of skew polynomial and skew Laurent polynomial rings in terms of ideals in the coefficient ring. African swine fever virus (ASFV) causes a highly contagious and severe hemorrhagic viral disease with high mortality in domestic pigs of all ages. Although the virus is harmless to humans, the ongoing ASFV epidemic could have severe economic consequences for global food security. Recent studies have found a few antiviral agents that can inhibit ASFV infections. However, currently, there are no vaccines or antiviral drugs. Hence, there is an urgent need to identify new drugs to treat ASFV. Based on the structural information data on the targets of ASFV, we used molecular docking and machine learning models to identify novel antiviral agents. We confirmed that compounds with high affinity present in the region of interest belonged to subsets in the chemical space using principal component analysis and k-means clustering in molecular docking studies of FDA-approved drugs. These methods predicted pentagastrin as a potential antiviral drug against ASFVs. Finally, it was also observed that the compound had an inhibitory effect on AsfvPolX activity. Results from the present study suggest that molecular docking and machine learning models can play an important role in identifying potential antiviral drugs against ASFVs. 相似文献

A highly sensitive amperometric galactose biosensor was developed by encapsulating galactose oxidase within the graphene-doped sol-gel titania-Nafion composite film on platinized glassy carbon electrode. Due to the combined electrocatalytic activity of graphene and Pt NPs on the electrode towards hydrogen peroxide as well as the mesoporous nature of the titania-Nafion composite, the present galactose biosensor exhibited relatively fast response time under 2 s, high sensitivity of 40.6 mAM−1cm−2, and wide dynamic range over three orders of magnitude with a detection limit of 3.78×10−6 M (S/N=3). A facile synthesis of highly stable, water‐dispersible metal‐nanoparticle‐decorated polymer nanocapsules (M@CB‐PNs: M=Pd, Au, and Pt) was achieved by a simple two‐step process employing a polymer nanocapsule (CB‐PN) made of cucurbit[6]uril (CB[6]) and metal salts. The CB‐PN serves as a versatile platform where various metal nanoparticles with a controlled size can be introduced on the surface and stabilized to prepare new water‐dispersible nanostructures useful for many applications. The Pd nanoparticles on CB‐PN exhibit high stability and dispersibility in water as well as excellent catalytic activity and recyclability in carbon–carbon and carbon–nitrogen bond‐forming reactions in aqueous medium suggesting potential applications as a green catalyst. 相似文献

A new C‐glycosyl flavone containing a 3‐keto sugar, isocassiaoccidentalin B ( 1 ), was isolated from whole Cassia nomame (Sieber ) Honda plants, along with eleven known compounds, including two flavonoids ( 2 and 3 ), five flavonoid glycosides ( 4 – 8 ), two chalcones ( 9 and 10 ), and two phenylpropanoids ( 11 and 12 ). The chemical structures of all compounds were determined via 1D‐ and 2D‐NMR, and ESI‐MS. Among these, compounds 2 , 3 , 7 , and 8 were found to be the most potent in inhibiting nitric oxide release. Palladium(II) complexes are generally reactive toward substitution/reduction, and their biological applications are seldom explored. A new series of palladium(II) N‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC) complexes that are stable in the presence of biological thiols are reported. A representative complex, [Pd(C^N^N)(N,N′‐nBu2NHC)](CF3SO3) ( Pd1 d , HC^N^N=6‐phenyl‐2,2′‐bipyridine, N,N′‐nBu2NHC=N,N′‐di‐n‐butylimidazolylidene), displays potent killing activity toward cancer cell lines (IC50=0.09–0.5 μm ) but is less cytotoxic toward a normal human fibroblast cell line (CCD‐19Lu, IC50=11.8 μm ). In vivo anticancer studies revealed that Pd1 d significantly inhibited tumor growth in a nude mice model. Proteomics data and in vitro biochemical assays reveal that Pd1 d exerts anticancer effects, including inhibition of an epidermal growth factor receptor pathway, induction of mitochondrial dysfunction, and antiangiogenic activity to endothelial cells. 相似文献

We investigated electronically excited states of caffeine and its 1:1 complex with water by using resonant two-photon ionization (R2PI) and UV-UV hole-burning techniques. Strong vibronic coupling between a pair of close-lying pi-pi* and n-pi* transitions is proposed to be responsible for the broad spectral feature observed. By comparing the experimental results with those of theoretical calculations, both the O-bonded and N-bonded forms were suggested to be initially produced for the 1:1 complex. The electronic transitions of the O-bonded complex were blueshifted in the R2PI spectrum. For the N-bonded complex, the excited state undergoes an ultrafast decay process, followed by dissociation on a repulsive potential energy surface, which gives rise to a characteristically anomalous cluster distribution in nanosecond experiments. 相似文献
