Influence of the potential of the oxidizing system on the exothermic stages in the oxidation of lignin

It has been shown that on the oxidation of soda lignin by the potassium ferriferrocyanide system thermal and luminous energy due to exothermic processes are evolved. Four-fermion interaction as a quantum source of a twisting field

The twisting of space can be represented as a bound state of matter fields. In this approach, the Einstein-Cartan theory arises in a model for an approximate quantization of the four-fermion interaction. The twisting field is a collective field similar in nature to a field of Cooper pairs. There is no classical twisting field in the theory. A comparison of the antioxidant properties of some natural antioxidants and lignin

The antioxidant properties of some natural antioxidants and lignin have been measured by the volt-amperometric and chemiluminescence methods. The dynamics of the deoxidation of lignin are discussed. Inhibition of the nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide-oxidoreductase reaction by herbicides and fungicides of various structures

The effect of herbicides (basagran, zenkor, kusagard, roundup, setoxidim, and lontrel and lontrel complexes with some doubly charged metal ions) and fungicides (tachigaren and tilt) on the activity of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADH)-oxidoreductase from the methylotroph Methylococcus capsulatus (strain M) was studied. All the herbicides and fungicides inhibit the enzyme, differing in the degree and type of inhibition. The inhibition constants K _i for these compounds and for lontrel complexes were determined. A correlation between the K _i values and the complexation constants of these pesticides with NADH was established. Character of the reaction of di- and polynucleotides with some pesticides

Lontrel, Sencor, Roundup, Kusagard, Tachigaren, Tilt, and Sethoxydim, as well as the bidentate Cu, Co, Ni, Mo, and Fe complexes of the herbicide Lontrel form molecular complexes with adenine heterocyclic compounds containing di- and polynucleotides. Sencor forms the strongest complexes, and Tilt has the lowest complexing constant. Lontrel, Sencor, Basagran, and Roundup totally destroy the cooperative character of the double helix of native DNA. The overall effect of the pesticides on nucleotides is determined both by the complexing constant with the purine base and by the capacity of the molecule of the pesticide to reach the reaction side located in the depth of the twisted double helix of DNA and RNA.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Seriya Khimicheskaya, No. 9, pp. 1984–1989, September, 1989.     

Kinetic model of the transfer process of technogenic contaminants through liposomal membranes

The transfer process of ecotoxic agents through a membrane is studied by the example of pesticides widely used in agriculture (lontrel, zenkor, bazagran, roundup, kuzagard, and setoksidim) and of lontrel complexes with cobalt and copper. All the compounds examined penetrate through the phosphatidylcholine membranes of liposomes. The kinetics of this process is studied by monitoring the rate of fluorescence quenching of ε-adenosine triphosphoric acid inside liposomes. On the basis of data obtained, a mathematical model of the process is proposed and the constants of mass transfer are calculated.     

Observation of new neutron rich nuclei29F,35,36Mg,38,39Al,40,41Si,43,44P,45–47S,46–49Cl,and49–51Ar from the interactions of 55 MeV/U48Ca+Ta

After magnetic separation, identification through time of flight and δE×E measurements has allowed the observation of the new nuclei,²⁹F,^35,36Mg,^38,39Al,^40,41Si,^43,44P,^45,46,47S;^46,47,48,49Cl;^49,50,51Ar from the interaction of a⁴⁸Ca beam of 55 MeV/u with tantalum targets.
