Few-electron quantum dots with integrated charge read-out have been fabricated by layered local anodic oxidation of a Ga[Al]As heterostructure and a thin Titanium top gate. The additional set of gates provided by the metallic film is used to tune the quantum dots into the few-electron regime. Current through the quantum dots and the quantum dot charge have been simultaneously measured for electron numbers varying between zero and two. The singlet–triplet splitting varies in two different samples between 0.5 and 1.5 meV. The Zeeman splitting of the first conductance resonance is observed in parallel magnetic field. The high tunability and straightforward implementation of these structures are promising for future nanostructure design.  相似文献

Double-differential cross sections of inclusive light-ion (p, d, t, 3He and α) production in carbon induced by 96 MeV neutrons have been measured at eight laboratory angles from 20° to 160° in steps of 20°. Experimental techniques, as well as procedures for data taking and data reduction, are presented. Deduced energy-differential and production cross sections are herewith reported. Experimental cross sections are compared with theoretical reaction model calculations and experimental data in the literature. The measured production cross sections for protons, deuterons, tritons, 3He, and α particles support the trends suggested by data at lower energies. Deduced partial kerma coefficients for carbon are also shown.  相似文献

In this paper we study the system $$\begin{aligned}&\min \biggl \{-\mathcal H u_i(x,t)-\psi _i(x,t),u_i(x,t)-\max _{j\ne i}(-c_{i,j}(x,t)+u_j(x,t))\biggr \}=0,\\&u_i(x,T)=g_i(x),\ i\in \{1,\ldots ,d\}, \end{aligned}$$ where \((x,t)\in \mathbb R ^{N}\times [0,T]\) . A special case of this type of system of variational inequalities with terminal data occurs in the context of optimal switching problems. We establish a general comparison principle for viscosity sub- and supersolutions to the system under mild regularity, growth, and structural assumptions on the data, i.e., on the operator \(\mathcal H \) and on continuous functions \(\psi _i\) , \(c_{i,j}\) , and \(g_i\) . A key aspect is that we make no sign assumption on the switching costs \(\{c_{i,j}\}\) and that \(c_{i,j}\) is allowed to depend on \(x\) as well as \(t\) . Using the comparison principle, the existence of a unique viscosity solution \((u_1,\ldots ,u_d)\) to the system is constructed as the limit of an increasing sequence of solutions to associated obstacle problems. Having settled the existence and uniqueness, we subsequently focus on regularity of \((u_1,\ldots ,u_d)\) beyond continuity. In this context, in particular, we assume that \(\mathcal H \) belongs to a class of second-order differential operators of Kolmogorov type of the form: $$\begin{aligned} \mathcal H =\sum _{i,j=1}^m a_{i,j}(x,t)\partial _{x_i x_j}+\sum _{i=1}^m a_i(x,t)\partial _{x_i} +\sum _{i,j=1}^N b_{i,j}x_i\partial _{x_j}+\partial _t, \end{aligned}$$ where \(1\le m\le N\) . The matrix \(\{a_{i,j}(x,t)\}_{i,j=1,\ldots ,m}\) is assumed to be symmetric and uniformly positive definite in \(\mathbb R ^m\) . In particular, uniform ellipticity is only assumed in the first \(m\) coordinate directions, and hence, \(\mathcal H \) may be degenerate.  相似文献

This paper deals with the investigation of an image dissector echelle spectrometer as an analytical instrument for flame atomic fluorescence spectrometry and for flame atomic emission spectroscopy. The fluorescence was induced by high-pressure xenon arc lamps, which emitted continuum spectra and had higher power ratings, i.e. 1.6 and 2.5 kW, than those normally used for the same purpose. The experimental set-up included two different types of premix burners and one type of total consumption burner. A spherical reflector was applied to improve the utilization of the fluorescence radiation. Two different coatings were tested. None gave the expected enhancement.Detection limits and growth curves were measured for 8 different elements (Ca, Co, Cu, Fe, K, Mg, Na and Ni) in a non-separated air/acetylene flame. The attained detection limits were found to be equally good or somewhat better in flame atomic fluorescence excited with continuum sources than previously reported in the literature, i.e. using similar flames. In flame atomic emission spectroscopy better detection limits have been reported before.  相似文献

By pulse modulating or deflecting a CW dye laser beam, cascade-free lifetime determinations at high spectral resolution can be performed with the decayed-coincidence technique using measuring times of about 1 minute. A theoretical study of the magnetic moments and the in-plane magnetic anisotropy of an interface between a cubic ferromagnet and a cubic semiconductor, Fe/ZnSe(001), is presented. Theory confirms the observed, much debated, uniaxial anisotropy of the iron film. This result is important since the calculations are for perfect interfaces with squarelike environments, proving that the fourfolded symmetry of the interface Fe atoms is broken beyond the nearest neighboring semiconducting layer, effects that are usually assumed small. It is demonstrated how the uniaxial anisotropy is produced by the directional covalent bonds at the interface, even without atomic relaxations.  相似文献
