Reaction of secondary phosphine oxides with acylacetylenes

Secondary phosphine oxides reacted with 1-alkanoyl-2-phenylacetylenes in chemoselective fashion under mild conditions (20°C, THF) in the absence of a catalyst (diphenylphosphine oxide) or in the presence of potassium hydroxide [bis(2-phenylethyl)phosphine oxide] to give 1-alkyl-1-diphenyl(or 2-phenylethyl)-phosphoryl-3-phenylprop-2-yn-1-ols in up to 96% yield. The reaction of diphenylphosphine oxide with 1-alkanoyl-2-phenylacetylenes in the system KOH-THF (20°C) afforded not only adducts at the carbonyl group but also products of double α,β-addition at the triple bond, 2,3-bis(diphenylphosphoryl)-3-phenylpropan-1-ones.     

Reaction of secondary phosphine selenides with the system Se/MOH (M = Li, Na, K, Rb, Cs): A novel three-component synthesis of diorganodiselenophosphinates

Secondary phosphine selenides, R₂P(Se)H (R = PhCH₂CH₂, PhCH(Me)CH₂, 4-t-BuC₆H₄CH₂CH₂, NaphthylCH₂CH₂, Ph), react with the system Se/MOH (M = Li, Na, K, Rb, Cs) in the system THF/EtOH at ambient temperature unusually fast (20–30 s) to give cleanly and almost quantitatively (in 94–100% yield) earlier unknown diorganodiselenophosphinates of alkali metals.     

Chemo- and regioselective reaction of vinyl furfuryl ethers with alcohols

Furfuryl and tetrahydrofurfuryl vinyl ethers reacted with various alcohols under mild conditions (20?C25°C, 1?C3 h, 1 wt % of CF₃COOH) with high chemo- and regioselectivity to give the corresponding Markovnikov adducts at the vinyl group in up to 93% yield.
