Direct phosphorylation of fullerene C<Subscript>60</Subscript> with phosphine

Fullerene C₆₀ reacts with phosphine (PH3) under free radical initiation conditions (azobis(isobutyronitrile), xylene, 65°C, 6–11 h) to give in the presence of air oxygen functional oligofullerenes (yield up to 32%) containing functional groups of phosphinic and phosphonic acids.     

Environmentally benign (Green) synthesis of Cobazole,an efficient erythropoiesis-stimulating agent

A practicable and environmentally benign process for the synthesis of Cobazole, an erythropoiesisstimulating agent, has been developed. The process is based on the reaction of N-vinylimidazole with cobalt chloride in water and requires no toxic organic solvents, which ensures the preparation of high-purity product.     

Chemoselective noncatalytic addition of secondary phosphine chalcogenides to citral

Addition of secondary phosphine oxides, phosphine sulfides and phosphine selenides to 3,7-dimethyl-2,6-octadienal (citral) (48–50°C, THF, argon) proceeds exclusively to the aldehyde group giving rise to new polyfunctional tertiary phosphine chalcogenides with diene and hydroxyl moieties in high preparative yield (up to 80%).     

Organylthiochloroacetylenes: VI. Reaction of Alkylthiochloroacetylenes with Sodium Azide

Alkylthiochloroacetylenes react with sodium azide in mild conditions (20°C, DMSO) to give alkylthioethynyl azides and 4-chloro-5-alkylthio-4H-1,2,3-triazoles in a total yield of 72%.

Photoelectron spectra of vinyl tellurides

The lowest energy band in the photoelectron (PE) spectra of alkyl vinyl tellurides is attributed to-MO with predominant contribution from the p_z-AO of the tellurium atom. The second and fourth lowest energy bands correspond to-MO. An additional-MO is located between these-MO. The introduction of a second vinyl group hardly affects the HOMO. The heterocyclization of divinyl telluride has a large perturbation effect. Controlled defect formation in elemental phosphorus as method for its chemical activation

The reveiw surveys and systematizes data on the role of defect formation in activation of red phosphorus. The reactivities of different modifications of elemental phosphorus (viz., white phosphorus, commercial red phosphorus, and red phosphorus containing high concentrations of biographical and induced defects) in inorganic and organic reactions were comparatively analyzed.
