Gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) are used as a contrast agent of the photoacoustic (PA) imaging. The efficiency of AuNPs has been discussed with the absorption cross section. However, the effects of the scattering of the light by AuNPs and surrounding medium on the PA signal from AuNPs have not been discussed. The PA signals from the aqueous solution of AuNPs were examined in the numerical simulation and the experiment. In the numerical simulation, the absorption and scattering cross sections of spherical and polyhedral AuNPs were calculated by Mie theory and discrete dipole approximation. Monte Carlo simulation calculated the absorbed light energy in the aqueous solution of AuNPs. Based on the PA wave equation, the PA signals were simulated. In the experiment, the PA signal from the aqueous solution of AuNP was measured by use of a piezoelectric film and a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser operated at 532 nm. The results of the numerical simulation and the experiment agreed well. In the numerical simulation and the experiment, a single Au nanocube with 50-nm edge generated the peak value of the PA signal significantly. It was approximately 350 times and twice as large as the peak values of the spherical AuNPs with 10- and 50-nm diameters, respectively. The peak value of the PA signal depended on both the absorption and scattering coefficients of the AuNPs and the surrounding medium. The peak value increased with the scattering coefficient in a quadratic manner. The character of the temporal profile of the PA signal such as full width at half maximum depended on the scattering coefficient of the AuNPs. 相似文献

We numerically analyze the interaction of small-amplitude phonon waves with standing gap discrete breather (DB) in strained graphene. To make the system support gap DB, strain is applied to create a gap in the phonon spectrum. We only focus on the in-plane phonons and DB, so the issue is investigated under a quasi-one-dimensional setup. It is found that, for the longitudinal sound waves having frequencies below 6 THz, DB is transparent and thus no radiation of energy from DB takes place; whereas for those sound waves with higher frequencies within the acoustic (optical) phonon band, phonon is mainly transmitted (reflected) by DB, and concomitantly, DB radiates its energy when interacting with phonons. The latter case is supported by the fact that, the sum of the transmitted and reflected phonon energy densities is noticeably higher than that of the incident wave. Our results here may provide insight into energy transport in graphene when the spatially localized nonlinear vibration modes are presented. 相似文献

First-principles GW+Bethe-Salpeter method employing all-electron mixed basis approach is applied to hydrocarbon molecules consisting of 78–198 atoms and its theoretical accuracy and performance are evaluated. Based on the confirmed accuracy/reliability of our method, we simulated the UV–vis absorption spectra of previously reported six possible isomers [E. Kayahara et al., Nat. Chem. 4, 2694 (2013)]. We also attempted to identify the most stable isomers of recently synthesized ball-shaped carbon nanocages by taking into account available experimental spectra. The best agreement with the experiment is found for the most unstable isomer, labelled as T. Our simulation strongly suggests that the external experimental conditions such as solution and finite temperature affect stability. 相似文献

The scaling behaviors of entanglement entropy (EE) against dimension cut-off of density matrix renormalization group (DMRG) in an anisotropic Heisenberg model on honeycomb lattice are investigated. In the gapped dimer phase, the entanglement spectrum (ES) exhibits large gaps and the EE shows an unexpected linear scaling before convergence. In contrast in the gapless Néel phase, the ES decays in a much smoother way, and the EE scales logarithmically. Our calculations show that the linear scaling in the dimer phase originates from one dominant Schmidt number plus n (nearly) degenerate Schmidt numbers that are much smaller than the dominant one. The non-trivial entanglement-scaling properties of the dimer and Néel phases could potentially be used for their detections. 相似文献

TiO2 thin films were grown by ion beam sputter deposition (IBSD) using oxygen ions, with the ion energy and geometrical parameters (ion incidence angle, polar emission angle, and scattering angle) being varied systematically. Metallic Ti and ceramic TiO2 served as target materials. The thin films were characterized concerning thickness, growth rate, surface topography, structural properties, mass density, and optical properties. It was found that the scattering geometry has the main impact on the film properties. Target material, ion energy, and ion incidence angle have only a marginal influence. Former studies on reactive IBSD of TiO2 using Ar and Xe ions reported equivalent patterns. Nevertheless, the respective ion species distinctively affects the film properties. For instance, mass density and the refractive index of the TiO2 thin films are remarkably lower for sputtering with oxygen ions than for sputtering with Ar or Xe ions. The variations in the thin film properties are tentatively attributed to the angular and the energy distribution of the film-forming particles, especially, to those of the backscattered primary particles. 相似文献

From solving the equations of the motion for a system of Einstein gravity coupled to a non-linear electromagnetic field in the dS spacetime with two integral constants, we derived a static and spherical symmetric non-linear magnetic-charged black hole. It is indicated that this black hole solution behaves like a dS geometry in the short-distance regime. And, thus this black hole is regular. The structure of the black hole horizons is studied in detail. Also, we investigated the thermodynamics and the thermal phase transition of the black hole in both the local and global views. By observing the discontinuous change of the specific heat sign and the swallowtail structure of the free energy, we showed that the black hole can undergo a thermal phase transition between a thermodynamically unstable phase and a thermodynamically stable phase. 相似文献
