We have measured the polarization of ∧ and Ξ? hyperons produced inclusively by a Σ? beam of 340 GeV/c momentum in nuclear targets, using samples of 9.5 million ∧ decays and 880000 Ξ? decays. The large statistics allowed a two-dimensional analysis as functions ofx F andp t . The polarization w.r.t. the production normal is mainly positive for ∧ and negative for Ξ?. The positive sign of the ∧ polarization is opposite to predictions. Atp t >1 Gev/c, the ∧ polarization decreases to zero or even negative values, in sharp contrast to the plateau abovep t <1 GeV/c observed in inclusive ∧ production by protons. No such effect is observed for the Ξ? polarization, and its sign is as expected.  相似文献

We have analyzed theK 1 0 K ± π? system in the reactions π+/pp→π+/p(K 1 0 K ± π?)p. A spin-parity analysis of theK 1 0 K ± π? system in the “4C” channel confirms the existence of the 1++ E meson which decays mainly throughK * \(\bar K\) . The data allow the presence of a 0?+ wave at a level of 14% of theE/ι signal. The production ofD andE mesons in the channels where theK 1 0 K ± π? system is produced along with a π0 or π+π? system is suppressed.  相似文献

The binding and activation of dioxygen by transition metal complexes is a fundamentally and practically important process in chemistry. Often the initial steps involve formation of peroxometal species that is difficult to observe because of their inherent reactivity. The interaction of dioxygen with a manganese(II) complex (1) of bis[(N'-tert-butylurealy)-N-ethyl]-(6-pivalamido-2-pyridylmethyl)amine was investigated, leading to the detection of a new intermediate that is a peroxomanganese(III) complex (2). This complex is high-spin (S = 2) with a g value of 8.2 and D = -2.0(5) as determined by parallel-mode electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy. The coordination of a peroxo ligand was established using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy that reveals a new signal at 885 cm-1 for 2 when formed from 16O2-this band shifts to 837 cm-1 when 18O2 is used in the preparation. Moreover, electrospray ionization mass spectra contain a strong ion at an m/z of 576.2703 for the 16O-isotopomer that shifts to 580.2794 in the 18O-isotopomer. Complex 2 also is capable of oxidatively deformylating aldehydes, which is a known reaction of peroxometal complexes. The similarities of 2 to the peroxo intermediates in cytochrome P450 are noted.  相似文献

We introduce a new method for monitoring and quantitating the transport of materials across a model cell membrane. As a proof-of-concept, the cell-penetrating peptide, Pep-1, was used to carry horseradish peroxidase (HRP) across droplet-interface bilayers (DIBs). Two submicroliter, lipid-encased aqueous droplets form a membrane at the contacting interface, through which enzyme-peptide complexes pass during transport. Following transport, the droplets are separated and the captured enzymes are assayed by a fluorogenic reaction. The DIB method recapitulates the findings of earlier studies involving Pep-1, including the dependence of protein transport on voltage and membrane charge, while also contributing new insights. Specifically, we found that leaflet charge symmetry may play a role in Pep-1-mediated protein translocation. We anticipate that the DIB method may be useful for a variety of transport-based studies.  相似文献

Transverse momentum (p T) distributions fo inclusive photons and neutral pions at midrapidity are measured with a lead glass calorimeter in 60 and are measured with a lead glass calorimeter in 60 and 200A·Gev16O+nucleus and and proton+nucleus reactions. Inclusive photon distributions are compared for central and peripheral reactions. The degree of centrality is determined either from the charged particle multiplicity or from the remaining projectile energy in the forward direction. Deviations from a nucleus+nucleus interaction model based upon linear extrapolation from p+p reactions are observed in central16O+Au data. The variation of theaverage transverse momentum is investigated as function of centrality. The target-mass and energy dependence of π0 p T distributions are presented. For16O+Au a change of slope in these distributions is observed atp t ≈0.8 GeV/c compatible with hydrodynamic expansion models.  相似文献

The reactionppp f +π?π0)p s , where the π+π?π0 system is centrally produced, has been studied at 300 GeV/c. The π+π?π0 mass spectrum shows evidence for the η, ω anda 2 (1320) as well as an enhancement in thea 1 (1260) region. A Dalitz plot analysis of the π+π?π0 system has been performed. Thea 1 (1260) parameters coming from the fit of the 1+ S wave arem=1208±15 MeV and Γ=430±50 MeV. No evidence is found for theh 1(1170) orh 1(1380).  相似文献

The dimuon production in 200 GeV/nucleon oxygen-uranium interactions is studied by the NA 38 Collaboration. The production ofJ/ψ, correlated with the transverse energyET, is investigated and compared to the continuum, as a function of the dimuon massM and transverse momentumPT. A value of 0.64±0.06 is found for the ratio (ψ/Continuum at highET)/(ψ/Continuum at lowET), from which theJ/ψ relative suppression can be extracted. This suppression is enhanced at lowPT.  相似文献
