Physicochemical Properties of Amino Acids in AqueousCaffeine Solution at 25, 30, 35 and 40 ℃

Density, viscosity, and refractive index, for glycine, DL-alanine, L-serine and DL-valine have been determined in aqueous solution of 0.05 mol/kg caffeine as a function of amino acid （AA） concentration at 25, 30, 35, and 40 ℃ The density data have been used to compute apparent molar volume. The partial molar volume （limiting apparent molar volume） was obtained by applying the Masson＇s equation. The viscosity data have been analyzed by means of Jones-Dole equation. The values of Falkenhagen coefficient and Jones-Dole coefficient thus obtained are used to interpret the solute-solute and solute-solvent interactions, respectively. Hydration number was also computed. The transition-state theory was applied to obtain the activation parameters of viscous flow, i.e., free energy of activation per mole of solvent, and solute. The enthalpy and entropy of activation of viscous flow were computed for the system. Refractive index was used to calculate molar refractivity of the mixtures. The results have been interpreted in the light of various interactions occurring between the components of the mixtures under applied experimental conditions.     

Commutators of fractional maximal operator on generalized Orlicz–Morrey spaces

In the present paper, we shall give necessary and sufficient conditions for the Spanne and Adams type boundedness of the commutators of fractional maximal operator on generalized Orlicz–Morrey spaces, respectively. The main advance in comparison with the existing results is that we manage to obtain conditions for the boundedness not in integral terms but in less restrictive terms of supremal operators.

Local probe of the interlayer coupling strength of few-layers SnSe by contact-resonance atomic force microscopy

The interlayer bonding in two-dimensional (2D) materials is particularly important because it is not only related to their physical and chemical stability but also affects their mechanical, thermal, electronic, optical, and other properties. To address this issue, we report the direct characterization of the interlayer bonding in 2D SnSe using contact-resonance atomic force microscopy (CR-AFM) in this study. Site-specific CR spectroscopy and CR force spectroscopy measurements are performed on both SnSe and its supporting SiO₂/Si substrate comparatively. Based on the cantilever and contact mechanic models, the contact stiffness and vertical Young’s modulus are evaluated in comparison with SiO₂/Si as a reference material. The interlayer bonding of SnSe is further analyzed in combination with the semi-analytical model and density functional theory calculations. The direct characterization of interlayer interactions using this non-destructive methodology of CR-AFM would facilitate a better understanding of the physical and chemical properties of 2D layered materials, specifically for interlayer intercalation and vertical heterostructures.     

Phenothiazine-pyridyl chalcone: an easily accessible colorimetric and fluorimetric ‘on-off’ dual sensing probe for Cu

Phenothiazine-pyridyl chalcone, a new internal charge transfer (ICT) probe, has been designed that allows naked eye detection and a reversible, ratiometric ‘on-off’ sensing capability for biologically and environmentally significant Cu²⁺ in CH₃OH-H₂O (4:1 v/v) under buffered conditions. The association constants determined using spectrophotometric and the fluorimetric techniques follow the order Cu²⁺ > Ni²⁺ > Co²⁺ > Zn²⁺ > Cd²⁺ > Mg²⁺ ≈ Ba²⁺ ≈ Ca²⁺ ≈ K⁺≈ Na⁺ ≈ Li⁺.     

A bag model study ofD mesons

An investigation of the newly discovered charmed mesonsD 0 andD +, particularly their non-leptonic decay modes, is carried out in the framework of the MIT bag model. The amplitude for a number of two-body final state decays are explicitly evaluated and compared with other available estimates.     

Pseudo-differential operators with meromorphic symbols and systems of complex differential equations

The paper is devoted to general boundary value problems for systems of complex differential and pseudo-differential equations with meromorphic symbols. As the solution spaces, special classes of analytic and exponential functions and functionals are introduced and the existence and uniqueness theorems in these spaces are proved.
