The purpose of this pilot study was to establish the dependence or independence of oxalate absorption on the quantity of the test dose of sodium oxalate over a range of test doses corresponding to physiological dietary oxalate intake values. Gastrointestinal oxalate absorption was measured with the [13C2]oxalate absorption test. Six healthy volunteers were always tested under standardized dietary conditions with 63 mg dietary oxalate and 800 mg dietary calcium per day. The volunteers were tested thrice each with sodium oxalate test doses of 25, 50, 200, and 600 mg. Additionally, 1000 mg sodium oxalate was applied once to three of these volunteers. The oxalate absorption of the six volunteers tested under the standardized conditions with 50 mg sodium [13C2]oxalate was 7.2 +/- 2.62 % (mean +/- SD), similar to the 120 volunteers tested previously: 8.0 +/- 4.4 % (mean +/- SD). The tests with sodium [13C2]oxalate doses in the range 25-1000 mg revealed similar percent oxalate absorption values. In conclusion, in healthy volunteers, the amount of oxalate absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract increased proportionally with the higher test doses of oxalate. However, percent oxalate absorption remained unchanged with test doses in the dose range of physiological dietary oxalate intakes.  相似文献

Microcolumn liquid chromatography (μHPLC) coupled on-line with time of flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (ToF-SIMS) was applied for mixture of diterpenoic acids (abietic, gibberellic and kaurenoic) analysis. Chromatographic effluent, with analytes separated, was carried out directly onto different, ToF-SIMS compatible surface substrates, for further ToF-SIMS analysis. Silica gel Si60, aluminium backplate modified Si60, monolithic silica gel and Raman spectroscopy chromatographic thin layers were used as the deposition substrates in this experiment. By ToF-SIMS surface imaging the deposition trace picture has been obtained. Effluent deposition surface area was scanned for diterpenoic acid fragment mass values based on mass spectrometric library. Measured ToF-SIMS dataset of fragment abundance and intensities were used for preliminary fragmentation schemes construction. The lowest substrate background activity has been established for monolithic silica gel thin layer and aluminium backplate modified Si60 thin layer. In the case of Raman spectroscopy pre-treated thin layer or conventional chromatographic thin layer Si60, the both, high background signal intensity and impossibility to construct negative ions surface image, were observed. Diterpenoic acids studied serve the similar mass spectrum but ToF-SIMS coupled with liquid chromatographic separation brings new impact to the positive identification of analytes studied.  相似文献

We report the first largely model independent measurement of charged particle multiplicities in quark and gluon jets, Nq and Ng, produced at the Fermilab Tevatron in pp collisions with a center-of-mass energy of 1.8 TeV and recorded by the Collider Detector at Fermilab. The measurements are made for jets with average energies of 41 and 53 GeV by counting charged particle tracks in cones with opening angles of theta(c) = 0.28, 0.36, and 0.47 rad around the jet axis. The corresponding jet hardness Q = Ejet theta c varies in the range from 12 to 25 GeV. At Q = 19.2 GeV, the ratio of multiplicities r = Ng/Nq is found to be 1.64+/-0.17, where statistical and systematic uncertainties are added in quadrature. The results are in agreement with resummed perturbative QCD calculations.  相似文献

Carbonaceous nanomaterials, such as fullerene C60, carbon nanotubes, and their functionalized derivatives have been demonstrated to possess high sorption capacity for organic and heavy metal contaminants, indicating a potential for remediation application. The actual application of these nanomaterials, however, is often hindered by the high cost of materials and the limited understanding of their mobility in porous media. In this work, carbon nano-onions (CNOs), a relatively new addition to the carbonaceous nanomaterials, were synthesized in a cost-effective way using a laser-assisted combustion synthesis process, and carefully characterized for their potential remediation application. Surface oxidized CNOs possessed 10 times higher sorption capacity than C60 for heavy metal ion contaminants including Pb2+, Cu2+, Cd2+, Ni2+, and Zn2+. CNOs aqueous suspension can be very stable in NaCl solution at ionic strength up to 30?mM and CaCl2 solution at ionic strength up to 4?mM CaCl2 when pH ranged from 5 to 9, which are consistent with environmentally relevant conditions. Interactions of CNOs with iron oxide and silica surfaces under favorable condition were found to be electrostatic in origin. Mobility of CNOs in quartz sands was controlled by electrolyte type and concentration. Approximately 4.4, 25.1, and 92.5?% of injected CNO mass were retained in the sand column in ultrapure water, 1?mM?NaCl, and 1?mM CaCl2 solutions, respectively.  相似文献

Higher order elliptic partial differential equations with Dirichlet boundary conditions in general do not satisfy a maximum principle. Polyharmonic operators on balls are an exception. Here it is shown that in IR2 small perturbations of polyharmonic operators and of the domain preserve the maximum principle.
