Fractionation of phosphopeptides on strong anion‐exchange capillary trap column for large‐scale phosphoproteome analysis of microgram samples

It is one of the key issues to develop powerful fractionating method to increase the identification of the low‐abundance phosphopeptides. In this study, a semi‐online 2‐D LC separation strategy based on three‐step fractionation of the enriched peptides on strong anion‐exchange trap column was developed. It was demonstrated that the sensitivity and phosphoproteome coverage obtained by this fractionating method with strong anion‐exchange trap column is much higher than those by the conventional methods based on C18 trap column. In addition, when the same amount of sample was loaded, the number of identified phosphopeptides had increased 108%. Combination of this three‐step fractionation method with RPLC‐MS/MS analysis by 300 min RP‐gradient separation was applied to phosphoproteome analysis of human liver proteins, and 853 unique phosphopeptides was positively identified from 500 μg tryptic digest of human liver proteins. After three cycles' consecutive analyses, 1554 unique phosphopeptides and 1566 phosphorylated sites were totally identified from 735 phosphorylated proteins at a false discovery rate of <1% in about 54 h of analysis time.     

Study on inverse taper based mode transformer for low loss coupling between silicon wire waveguide and lensed fiber

We have simulated the coupling loss of three types of Inverse Taper and taper-lensed fiber using three dimensional (3D) semi-vectorial beam propagation methods (BPM) respectively. Our results showed that the performances of exponential inverse taper and quadratic inverse taper were better than the commonly used linear inverse taper. Especially, for TM mode the improvement in the reduction of devices size is 53% and 136% for exponential and quadratic inverse taper compared with the linear inverse taper.

不含三角形图的正常染色路和正常染色圈

图G为边染色图,对G中的任一顶点v,定义v的色度dc（v）：G中与顶点v相关联的边中不同染色的数目.用δc（G）表示图G的最小色度,即δc（G）=min{dc（v）：v∈G}.若图G为不含三角形的边染色图,且δc（G）≥2,则G含长为4d-2的正常染色路或长至少为2d-2的正常染色圈.     

The combination of TsNBr2/TsNH2 as the nitrogen/halo source for the aminobromination of β-methyl-β-nitrostyrenes catalyzed by Mn(OAc)2

The combination of N,N-dibromo-p-tolunesulfonamide (4-TsNBr₂) and TsNH₂ was found to be an efficient halogen/nitrogen source for the aminohalogenation of β-methyl-β-nitrostyrenes with manganese (II) acetate as the catalyst in the presence of 4 Å molecular sieves. The reaction results in vicinal bromoamino nitroalkanes with the opposite regioselectivity comparing with those reported, which was also confirmed by X-ray structural analysis.     

Experiment Research on a Highly Stable LD-pumped Solid State Laser

In high power laser systems, the stability of the seed laser is vitally important. This paper presents the work on the design and manufacture of a highly stable LD pumped solid state seed laser which has the advantages of being all solid state, compact, easy to manufacture and low cost. The laser was composed of two parts. One was an LD pumped 0.5 mm thin Nd: YLF laser system in which the instability was around±6% (3σ). The other was a close-looped laser power control system using external cavity power feedback. Using an electro-optic modulator, a 1×2 optical fiber splitter and a signal processing circuit, we successfully realized the highly stable LD pumped Nd: YLF laser in which the instability of laser output power was lower than±0.2 %/hour (3σ). A digital PID (Proportion, Integration and Differentiation) control method was used with a control frequency of 40 kHz. The 3 mW of highly stable laser power through the optical fiber was obtained.

Automatic analysis of three-dimensional displacement field using ESPI

Electronic speckle pattern interferometry (ESPI) has been used to study the in-plane and out-of-plane displacements of the object. In order to improve the accuracy, a Fourier filtration algorithm has been used to remove the speckle noise and get the holographic-quality ESPI fringe pattern. The processing steps of this method are described in detail in this paper. In addition, a phase shifter, which is easily used with simplified structure and high stability, is also presented. It can be applied to various coherent arrangements in experiments to obtain phase shifted fringe patterns. Experiments of determining the 3D displacement field of a circular fixed plate with a uniform load have been carried out using these methods. The results presented in this paper indicate that the accuracy of this method is satisfactory.

Operando X-ray absorption and EPR evidence for a single electron redox process in copper catalysis

An unprecedented single electron redox process in copper catalysis is confirmed using operando X-ray absorption and EPR spectroscopies. The oxidation state of the copper species in the interaction between Cu(ii) and a sulfinic acid at room temperature, and the accurate characterization of the formed Cu(i) are clearly shown using operando X-ray absorption and EPR evidence. Further investigation of anion effects on Cu(ii) discloses that bromine ions can dramatically increase the rate of the redox process. Moreover, it is proven that the sulfinic acids are converted into sulfonyl radicals, which can be trapped by 2-arylacrylic acids and various valuable β-keto sulfones are synthesized with good to excellent yields under mild conditions.
