The uncertainties of stable isotope results depend not only on the technical aspects of measurements, but also on how raw data are normalized to one of the international isotope scales. The inconsistency in the normalization methods used and in the selection of standards may lead to substantial differences in the results obtained. Therefore, unification of the data processing protocols employed is highly desirable. The best performing methods are two-point or multipoint normalization methods based on linear regression. Linear regression is most robust when based on standards that cover the entire range of δ values typically observed in nature, regardless of the δ values of the samples analysed. The uncertainty can be reduced by 50 % if measurements of two different standards are performed four times, or measurements of four standards are performed twice, with each batch of samples. Chemical matrix matching between standards and samples seems to be critical for δ 18O of nitrate or δ 2H of hair samples (thermal conversion/elemental analyser), for example; however, it is not necessarily always critical for all types of samples and techniques (e.g. not for most δ 15N and δ 13C elemental analyser analyses). To ensure that all published data can be recalculated, if δ values of standards or the isotope scales are to be updated, the details of the normalization technique and the δ values of the standards used should always be clearly reported. 相似文献

Nanoparticles of nitrogen-modified TiO2 (N-doped TiO2) calcined at 300°C and 350°C, have been prepared with and without water rinsing. Samples were characterized by x-ray diffractrometry (XRD) and optical spectroscopy. The electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectra from centers involving oxygen vacancies were recorded for all samples. These could be attributed to paramagnetic surface centers of the hole type, for example to paramagnetic oxygen radicals O?, O2 ? etc. The concentration of these centers increased after water rising and it further increased for samples annealed at higher temperature. Additionally, for samples calcined at 300°C, and calcined at 350°C and rinsed, the EPR spectra evidenced the presence of magnetic clusters of Ti3+ ions. The photocatalytic activity of samples was studied towards phenol decomposition under unltraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) irradiation. It was found that, in comparison to the starting materials, the rinsed materials showed increased photocatalytic activity towards phenol oxidation. The light absorption (UV-Vis/DRS) as well as surface Fourier transform infrared/diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (FTIR/DR) studies confirmed a significantly enhanced light absorption and the presence of nitrogen groups on the photocatalysts surfaces, respectively. A significant increase of concentration of paramagnetic centers connected with oxygen vacancies after water rising has had an essential influence on increasing their photocatalytic activity. 相似文献

Two pseudohalide hydride carbonyl ruthenium(II) complexes with formulae: [RuH(N3)(CO)(PPh3)3] (1) and [RuH(NCO)(CO)(PPh3)3] (2) have been synthesized by the reactions of [RuHCl(CO)(PPh3)3] with sodium azide or sodium cyanate, respectively, and are compared with the previously described thiocyanate analog [RuH(NCS)(CO)(PPh3)3]. The molecular structures of the new compounds were determined by X-ray crystallography and their spectroscopic properties have been studied. Based on the crystal structures, computational investigations have been carried out in order to determine the electronic structures of the complexes. A new heterometallic compound, [CoCl(NH3)5][KCr(C2O4)3]·0.5H2O (1), has been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR and electronic spectra, thermal analysis, variable temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements, and single crystal X-ray diffraction. Compound 1 consists of two-dimensional [{KCr(C2O4)3}n]2n? layers, [CoCl(NH3)5]2+ ions and water molecules. Within the 2-D layer, three different types of oxalate coordination modes are present. Each K cation is coordinated by eight oxygen atoms from oxalate groups and also weakly interacts with the ninth oxygen atom. The extensive network of hydrogen bond is formed between the [KCr(C2O4)3]2? layer and the [CoCl(NH3)5]2+ ions. These interactions involve all hydrogen atoms of ammonia ligads and water molecule. 相似文献

A new approach of siloxane sampling based on impinger, micro-impinger, adsorption on active carbon, and direct TedlarBag methods followed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) was developed for the analysis of three linear (L2–L4) and four cyclic (D3–D5) volatile methyl siloxanes (VMSs). Three kinds of organic liquid-medium characterized by different polarities, namely acetone, methanol, and d-decane as siloxanes trap were arranged in the experiment which is widely discussed below. Thus, the GC-MS equipped with SUPELCOWAX-10 capillary column was employed to perform monitoring of VMS content in the analyzed biogas samples originating from landfill, wastewater treatment plants, and agriculture biogas plants. In all samples that have undergone the analysis, cyclic and linear VMSs were found in quantities exceeding 107.9 and 3.8 mg/m3, respectively. Significant differences between siloxanes concentrations depending on biogas origin were observed. Moreover, the high range of linearity (0.1 to 70.06 mg/m3), low LoD (0.01 mg/m3), low LoQ (0.04 mg/m3), and high recovery (244.1%) indicate that the procedure and can be applied in sensitive analyses of silica biogas contaminants. In addition to the above, the impinger method of sampling performed better than active-carbon Tube and TedlarBag, particularly for quantifying low concentrations of siloxanes. Overall, the evaluation of sampling methods for biogas collection simplified the analytical procedure by reducing the procedural steps, avoiding the use of solvents, as well as demonstrated its applicability for the testing of biogas quality. 相似文献

Phytoestrogens are naturally occurring non-steroidal phenolic plant compounds. Their structure is similar to 17-β-estradiol, the main female sex hormone. This review offers a concise summary of the current literature on several potential health benefits of phytoestrogens, mainly their neuroprotective effect. Phytoestrogens lower the risk of menopausal symptoms and osteoporosis, as well as cardiovascular disease. They also reduce the risk of brain disease. The effects of phytoestrogens and their derivatives on cancer are mainly due to the inhibition of estrogen synthesis and metabolism, leading to antiangiogenic, antimetastatic, and epigenetic effects. The brain controls the secretion of estrogen (hypothalamus-pituitary-gonads axis). However, it has not been unequivocally established whether estrogen therapy has a neuroprotective effect on brain function. The neuroprotective effects of phytoestrogens seem to be related to both their antioxidant properties and interaction with the estrogen receptor. The possible effects of phytoestrogens on the thyroid cause some concern; nevertheless, generally, no serious side effects have been reported, and these compounds can be recommended as health-promoting food components or supplements. 相似文献

Sulphur isotope compositions were determined in two different Polish coals (hard coal and lignite) and by-products originating from their combustion. The desulphurization process was also investigated. It was demonstrated that desulphurization changes the isotopic composition of sulphur emitted in the form of SO(2) to the atmosphere even if the process is conducted in a different way (wet lime technology and electron beam method). X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) is an indispensable technique in modern materials science for the determination of chemical bonding as evidenced by more than 10 000 XPS papers published annually. A literature survey reveals that in the vast majority of cases an incorrect referencing of the binding energy scale is used, neglecting warnings that have been formulated from the early days of the technique. Consequences for the data reliability are disastrous and decades of XPS work require revisiting.
