The decomposition of an acoustic wave into its angular spectrum representation creates an effective base for the calculation of wave propagation effects in anisotropic media. In this method, the distribution of acoustic fields is calculated in arbitrary planes from the superposition of the planar components with proper phase shifts. These phase shifts depend on the ratio of the distance between the planes to the normal component of the phase slowness vector. In anisotropic media, the phase shifts depend additionally on the changes of the slowness with respect to the direction of the propagation vector and the polarization. Those relations are obtained from the Christoffel equation. The method employing the fast Fourier transformation algorithm is especially suited for volume imaging in anisotropic media, based on holographic detection in transmission of acoustic waves generated by a point source. This technique is compared with measurements on crystals performed by phase-sensitive scanning acoustic microscopy. 相似文献

The attenuation and the velocity of ultrasonic waves in single crystalline high-T
c YBa2Cu3O7–x have been measured in the temperature range from 3 to 280 K for the C11-, C33-, C44- and C66-mode. At the superconducting transition a pronounced peak in the absorption is observed for the longitudinal C11-mode. The longitudinal C11- and C33-modes and the transverse C44-mode exhibit a plateau in the temperature dependence of the velocity. The electrophoretic mobility behavior of well-characterized polystyrene latex particles, carrying one type of surface functional endgroups, has been studied as a function of pH. At low pH, the interaction of protons with the functional endgroups increased in the order: Hydroxyl > carboxyl > sulfate; at high pH the order of interaction was reversed; and at intermediate pH no interactions were observed. The particles of the polystyrene latexes in their different forms at the intermediate pH range, dispersed in deionized water, all exhibited the same mobility irrespective of the functional endgroup. The origin of charge in these systems is explained as being the result of either the preferential adsorption of hydroxyl ions or an electron - injection mechanism due to the overlap of local intrinsic molecular - ion states in polystyrene and water. At low concentrations of functional endgroups, the surface properties of the polystyrene latexes are largely dependent upon the hydrophobic nature of the surface. 相似文献

Filtrates of spruce needles (Picea abies (L.) Karsten) have been analysed spectrophotometrically. The filtrates show u.v. absorption maxima in the wavelength range of 263 to 277 nm, which is caused by phenolic compounds present in the spruce needles. Special attention is paid to p-oxyacetophenone, both as an aglycon (λmax, 275 nm) and as the glycoside Picein (λmax, 263 nm). The position of the maximum of u.v. absorption depends on both seasonal and external influences (for example SO2) on the spruce needles. Comparison of the maxima of u.v. absorption for exposed and non-exposed needles during the summer reveals significant differences which can be used as an additional aid to diagnose gas damages by air pollutants. 相似文献

Aluminium terbium alloys were prepared by simultaneous thermal evaporation resulting in a thin film library covering a 5 to 25 at.% Tb compositional spread. Synchrotron x-ray diffraction (XRD) proves all of the alloys to be amorphous. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) measurements reveal the structural changes upon increase in Tb content with the formation of small, Tb-rich segregations right before a drastic change in morphology around 25 at.% Tb. Anodic oxides were formed systematically in cyclic voltammograms using scanning droplet cell microscopy. Coulometric analysis revealed a linear thickness over formation potential behaviour with film formation factors ranging from 1.2 nm V?1 (5 at.% Tb) to 1.6 nm V?1 (25 % Tb). Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy was performed for each incremental oxidation step resulting in a linear relation between inverse capacity and formation potential with dielectric constants ranging from 8 (5 at.% Tb) to 16 (25 at.% Tb). 相似文献

Two types of nonbreakable, flexible micro-reference electrodes filled with gel-electrolytes were prepared for use in solutions with alkaline and neutral pH. The electrodes are intended for electrochemical measurements, in which chloride-free conditions are important. Due to the flexible, bendable construction of the electrodes, electrochemical experiments at locations difficult to access with common reference electrodes are enabled. Hg|HgO-type electrodes were prepared from amalgamated Au wires, followed by oxidation of the amalgam, which is mounted in a PTFE tube filled with 0.1M NaOH solution immobilized in a PAA-g-PEO gel. The potential of this type of electrode was found to be 0.162?±?0.002 V (SHE) at room temperature. Cu|CuSO4 electrodes, consisting of a Cu wire immersed in a saturated CuSO4 solution jellied with gelatin, showed a stable open-circuit potential of 0.312?±?0.001 V (SHE). Further characterization of the electrodes was performed in terms of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and micro-polarization measurements. Efficiency and performance of light triggered molecular motors are crucial features that need to be mechanistically understood to improve the performance and enable conscious property tailoring for specific applications. In this work, three different hemithioindigo-based molecular motors are investigated and all four steps in their complete unidirectional rotation are unraveled fully quantitatively. Transient absorption spectroscopy across twelve orders of magnitude in time is used to probe the fs nuclear motions up to the ms thermal kinetics, covering the timeframe of the whole motor rotation. The newly known full mechanisms allow simulation of the motor systems to scrutinize their performance at realistic illumination conditions. This highlights the importance of photoisomerization quantum yields for the rotation speed. The substitution pattern in close proximity to the rotation axle influences the excited and ground state properties. Reduction of electron donation and concomitant increase of steric hindrance leads to faster photoisomerization reactions with quasi-ballistic behavior, but also to a slight decrease in the quantum efficiency. The expected decelerating effects of increased sterics are primarily manifested in the ground state. A promising approach for next-generation hemithioindigo motors is to elevate electron donation at the rotor fragment followed by an increase of steric hindrance. 相似文献
