Large enhancements have been observed in the sub-barrier fusion cross sections for Ti+Ni systems in our previous studies.
Coupled channel calculations incorporating couplings to 2+ and 3− states failed to explain these enhancements completely. A possibilty of transfer channels contributing to the residual enhancements
had been suggested. In order to investigate the role of relevant transfer channels, measurements of one- and two-nucleon transfer

Previously we have reported a family of convective patterns formed by charge-stabilized aqueous colloidal suspensions under constant (dc) vertical electric fields [Y. Han and D. G. Grier, J. Chem. Phys. 122, 164701 (2005); and ibid. 125, 144707 (2006)]. These patterns form in the bulk when electrokinetic forces act in the opposite direction to gravity. Here, we report on cellular patterns that silica colloidal spheres form on a horizontal electrode when electrokinetic forces act in the same direction as gravity. We suggest that these cellular patterns form as a result of bulk electroconvection mediated by charge injection into the supporting aqueous electrolyte. This charge-injection mechanism also accounts for some aspects of electroconvective pattern formation in our earlier reports. Cellular patterns reorganize themselves into distinct transient patterns after the driving voltage is turned off. These transients cast new light on the complex interplay between the motions of charged colloidal spheres and the ionic relaxation of water undergoing electrolysis. 相似文献

Recent theoretical advances show that the temperature of a system in equilibrium can be measured from static snapshots of its constituents' instantaneous configurations, without regard to their dynamics. We report the first measurements of the configurational temperature in an experimental system. In particular, we introduce a hierarchy of hyperconfigurational temperature definitions, which we use to analyze monolayers of charge-stabilized colloidal spheres. Equality of the hyperconfigurational and bulk thermodynamic temperatures provides previously lacking thermodynamic self-consistency checks for the measured colloidal pair potentials, and thereby casts new light on anomalous like-charge colloidal attractions induced by geometric confinement. 相似文献

[formula: see text] Iron salts efficiently catalyze the Doyle-Kirmse reaction of allyl sulfides with (trimethylsilyl)diazomethane and ethyl diazoacetate in dichloroethane at 83 degrees C. Competitive dimerization is less of a problem with (trimethylsilyl)diazomethane than with ethyl diazoacetate. Good results are obtained using only 1.5 equiv of (trimethylsilyl)diazomethane, even without slow addition. Phosphine ligands affect the kinetics, but not the diastereoselectivity. Dppe and BINAP lead to higher yields than dppp, but no enantioselection was detected with R-(+)-BINAP. 相似文献
