Tin(IV) etiopurpurin dichloride (SnET2 x 2Cl) is a photosensitizer which has been shown to be an effective photodynamic agent for the treatment of transplantable animal tumors in vivo. The purpose of this study was to understand the effect of SnET2 x 2Cl on membrane lipid peroxidation. When erythrocyte membranes were exposed to visible light in the presence of SnET2 x 2Cl, lipid peroxidation was observed. An accumulation of lipid hydroperoxides and an increase in lipid fluorescence were also observed. Thin layer chromatography of lipid extracts from photooxidized membrane revealed photoperoxide products derived from phospholipid. Investigations into the mechanism(s) of lipid peroxidation by SnET2 x 2Cl and light-sensitized membranes were also performed. Results indicate that singlet oxygen (1O2) plays a major role in lipid peroxidation.  相似文献

Density functional theory (DFT) provides convenient electronic structure methods for the study of molecular systems and materials. Regular Kohn-Sham DFT calculations rely on unitary transformations to determine the ground-state electronic density, ground state energy, and related properties. However, for dissociation of molecular systems into open-shell fragments, due to the self-interaction error present in a large number of density functional approximations, the self-consistent procedure based on the this type of transformation gives rise to the well-known charge delocalization problem. To avoid this issue, we showed previously that the cluster operator of coupled-cluster theory can be utilized within the context of DFT to solve in an alternative and approximate fashion the ground-state self-consistent problem. This work further examines the application of the singles cluster operator to molecular ground state calculations. Two approximations are derived and explored: i) A linearized scheme of the quadratic equation used to determine the cluster amplitudes. ii) The effect of carrying the calculations in a non-self-consistent field fashion. These approaches are found to be capable of improving the energy and density of the system and are quite stable in either case. The theoretical framework discussed in this work could be used to describe, with an added flexibility, quantum systems that display challenging features and require expanded theoretical methods.  相似文献

A simple and efficient synthetic route to the novel 3a,4-dihydro-3H,7H- and 4H,7H-pyrazolo[4′,3′:5,6]pyrano[4,3-c][1,2]oxazole ring systems from 3-(prop-2-en-1-yloxy)- or 3-(prop-2-yn-1-yloxy)-1H-pyrazole-4-carbaldehyde oximes has been developed by employing the intramolecular nitrile oxide cycloaddition (INOC) reaction as the key step. The configuration of intermediate aldoximes was unambiguously determined using NOESY experimental data and comparison of the magnitudes of 1JCH coupling constants of the iminyl moiety, which were greater by approximately 13 Hz for the predominant syn isomer. The structures of the obtained heterocyclic products were confirmed by detailed 1H, 13C and 15N NMR spectroscopic experiments and HRMS measurements.  相似文献

Solid state metathesis reactions between cyanuric chloride and C–N–H or alkali metal–(B–)C–N compounds, respectively, were carried out in the temperature range between 150 °C to 500 °C, studying intermediate stages of reactions and targeting the formation of carbon nitride materials by elimination of HCl or alkali metal chlorides. Although cyanuric chloride was reacted with quite a number of different reaction partners such as melamine, cyanamide, lithium nitride, lithium or sodium carbodiimide, lithium nitridoborate or sodium dicyandiamide, always the same intermediate compounds appeared in the reactions mixtures. Colorless, needle‐shaped crystals of the tertiary amine N(C3N3Cl2)3 ( 1 ) were obtained at temperatures around 200–250 °C. Temperatures as high as 400 °C yielded yellow, plate‐like crystals of the heptazine compound C6N7Cl3 ( 2 ). At even higher temperatures, the reaction products were of poorer crystallinity, but evidence of the formation of another crystalline intermediate was given by X‐ray powder diffraction and electron diffraction experiments. This third intermediate is assumed to be a tertiary amine, quite similar to 1 , however, having heptazine ligands instead of triazine ligands and is assigned with the formula N(C6N7Cl2)3 ( 3 ). Theoretical calculations were performed for the structures and the vibrational spectra of 1 and 3 . Theoretical calculations and a structure refinement based of X‐ray powder diffraction data yielded a plausible structural model for compound 3 .  相似文献

Deuterated forms of aromatic charge transporting heterocycles 2 and 3 used in organic light-emitting diodes have been produced by hydrothermal reactions, catalyzed by Pt/C or Pd/C. Comprehensive analysis by mass spectroscopy, 1H, 2H and 13C NMR enables determination of the overall quantity of D atoms present, as well as the level of deuteration at each molecular site. The roles of solubility and steric availability in deuteration are discussed in the light of these results. Neutron reflectometry indicates excellent scattering contrast between protonated and deuterated forms of these molecules, with nanoscale thin films showing the same density as in their bulk molecular forms. Although used for morphological studies of thin films typically used in OLEDs, the synthetic and analysis methods described here are generic and suitable for deuteration of other conjugated aromatic heterocycles and other optoelectronic devices.  相似文献

Sulfhydryl oxidases are flavin-dependent enzymes that catalyse the formation of de novo disulfide bonds from free thiol groups, with the reduction of molecular oxygen to hydrogen peroxide. Sulfhydryl oxidases have been investigated in the food industry to remove the burnt flavour of ultraheat-treated milk and are currently studied as potential crosslinking enzymes, aiming at strengthening wheat dough and improving the overall bread quality.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is twofold. On the one hand, it provides a contribution to the debate on judicial efficiency by conducting an applied research on the Italian tax judiciary thanks to a database covering the activities of the Italian tax courts over a 3-year period (2009–2011). On the other hand, it also contributes to the methodological debate, as it compares results obtained with Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and Directional Distance Function (DDF), two related non-parametric techniques which allow evaluating the efficiency of each observation as the radial distance from the efficient frontier defined by the best observations. While DEA has already been used to assess the mere technical efficiency of judicial systems, the DDF offers a valuable additional contribution, since it makes it possible to minimize the social cost of production of adjudication in the measurement. This feature makes it particularly attractive in those sectors in which production externalities may arise, such as judicial delays in the case investigated here. Additionally, the paper first applies the bootstrap to the DDF procedure in order to provide more robust estimates and to compare them with the DEA results.  相似文献
