Total electron yields for perpendicular impact of C+ ions on W have been measured for projectile energies from 0.2 keV to 7 keV. The data are compared with the data of C+ bombardment of gold and graphite in order to demonstrate general trends in kinetic electron yields at low projectile velocities. The total electron yields in the studied combinations of projectiles and substrates show a similar exponential dependence Γ ∝ (v/A) exp(−A/v), where A is a constant and v is the projectile velocity. 相似文献

Instantaneous measurements of temperature, equivalence ratio, and major species were performed along a one-dimensional probe volume using simultaneous Raman/Rayleigh scattering in an unconfined turbulent lean-premixed swirling methane/air flame. Temperature was determined from Rayleigh scattering and the major species, CO2, O2, N2, CH4, H2O, and H2 from Raman scattering. Effective Rayleigh cross-sections were corrected using the local chemical composition obtained from Raman scattering. These experiments were conducted to investigate the compositional structure of a lean-premixed swirling flame in detail and to complement previous measurements of the underlying flow field. The flame was classified within a revised regime diagram at the cross-over between corrugated flames and thin reaction zones. Instantaneous temperature profiles varied significantly showing shapes ranging from laminar-like flamelets to mixing between reacted fluid elements and secondary air. Different thermo-kinetic states could be assigned to the inner and outer recirculation zones and to the inner and outer mixing layers. Linked to published velocity data of this flame, the present multi-scalar data are useful for validation of numerical simulations. 相似文献

Modeling the energetic behavior of materials showing martensitic phase transformations usually leads to non-convex energy formulations. In a variety of models based on quasi-convex analysis, the Reuß lower bound, which neglects the compatibility constraint for the deformation fluctuations, is used as an estimate for the so-called energy of mixing. We present an upper bound that is on the one hand based on the lamination mixture formula, which gives an estimate of the free energy of two-variant materials and is extended to a specialized n-variant case in our work. On the other hand, we rely on experimentally well established assumptions about the type of microstructure that forms in such alloys. More precisely, we restrict the set of physically admissible microstructures to the subset of second order laminated microstructres consisting of austenite and twinned martensites. We further refine our upper bound by taking into account the notion of twin-compatibility. For the physically relevant examples of 13- and 7-variant Cu-Al-Ni shape memory alloys, striking congruence is obtained in the comparison of the Reuß lower and our upper bound for fixed volume fractions. Furthermore, we show results of global minimization of the energy obtained by each bound over the volume fractions of the variants. Feshbach's projector technique is employed to quantize the electromagnetic field in optical resonators with an arbitrary number of escape channels. We find spectrally overlapping resonator modes coupled due to the damping and noise inflicted by the external radiation field. For wave chaotic resonators the mode dynamics is determined by a non-Hermitean random matrix. Upon including an amplifying medium, our dynamics of open-resonator modes may serve as a starting point for a quantum theory of random lasing. 相似文献

The degree of interfacial structuring of n-hexadecane and octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane (OMCTS) was measured within a nanometer boundary regime to silicon surfaces. Boundary-layer effects on lubricating sliding (in terms of a thermodynamic stress activation parameter) and the layer thickness were determined by scanning force microscopy. A 2.0+/-0.3 nm thick, entropically cooled layer was found for n-hexadecane. Measurements on spherically shaped OMCTS molecules exhibited only an interfacial "monolayer," and identified the molecular shape of n-hexadecane responsible for augmented interfacial structuring. Interfacial liquid structuring was found to reduce friction. 相似文献
