Free electron lasers (FEL) are new generation accelerator-based short wavelength light sources providing high pulse intensity and femtosecond pulse duration, which enable investigation of interaction of elementary excitations in solids under extreme conditions. Using the FLASH facility of HASYLAB at DESY (Hamburg, Germany), we investigated the response of different materials with scintillating properties based on intrinsic emissions to the 25.6 and 13.8 nm FEL radiation by means of time-resolved luminescence spectroscopy. FLASH delivered single pulses of 25 fs duration having energy per pulse up to 30 μJ resulting in power densities of ~1012 W/cm2 on crystals. As a function of excitation density we observed the shortening of lifetime and non-exponential behaviour of emission decays in CaWO4, while the emission spectra recorded are comparable to those obtained at conventional excitation sources.  相似文献

2‐Diazo‐2H‐indoles were prepared by diazotization of the corresponding 1H‐indol‐2‐amines and subsequent neutralization. On the basis of NMR data and ab initio and semiempirical calculations, we suggest that the zwitterionic form A is the most representative structure for 2‐diazo‐2H‐indoles. In fact, spectral data are compatible with a 1H‐indole structure, and the fully optimized molecules gave distances in agreement with those reported for the anion obtained from 1H‐indole. The calculated charges are compatible with a zwitterionic structure in which the negative charge is mainly located at the ring N‐atom at variance with the case of diazopyrroles and 3‐diazo‐3H‐indoles where the negative charge is essentially located on the ipso C‐atom.  相似文献

(1) Background: Mangiferin (MGN) is a natural compound, showing anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activities for the potential treatment of eye diseases. The poor physicochemical features of MGN (low solubility and high instability) justify its nanoencapsulation into nanostructured lipid carriers (NLC) to improve its ocular bioavailability. (2) Methods: Firstly, MGN-NLC were prepared by the high shear homogenization coupled with the ultrasound (HSH−US) method. Finally, unloaded and MGN-loaded NLC were analyzed in terms of ocular tolerance. (3) Results: MGN-NLC showed good technological parameters suitable for ocular administration (particle size below 200 nm). The ORAC assay was performed to quantify the antioxidant activity of MGN, showing that the antioxidant activity of MGN-NLC (6494 ± 186 μM TE/g) was higher than that of the free compound (3521 ± 271 μM TE/g). This confirmed that the encapsulation of the drug was able to preserve and increase its activity. In ovo studies (HET-CAM) revealed that the formulation can be considered nonirritant. (4) Conclusions: Therefore, NLC systems are a promising approach for the ocular delivery of MGN.  相似文献

In this paper we tackle the challenge of gaining control of the photophysical properties of PAHs through a site-specific N-doping within the structural aromatic framework. By developing a simple predictive tool that identifies C(sp2)-positions that if substituted with a heteroatom would tailor the changes in the absorption and emission spectral envelopes, we predict optimal substitutional patterns for the model peri-xanthenoxanthene (PXX) PAH. Specifically, TDDFT calculations of the electron density difference between the S1 excited state and S0 ground state of PXX allowed us to identify the subtleties in the role of sites i.e., electron donating or withdrawing character on excitation. The replacement of two C(sp2)-atoms with two N-atoms, in either electron donating or withdrawing positions, shifts the electronic transitions either to low or high energy, respectively. This consequently shifts the PXX absorption spectral envelop bathochromically or hypsochromically, as demonstrated by steady-state absorption spectroscopic measurements. Within the series of synthesised N-doped PXX, we tune the optical band gap within an interval of ∼0.4 eV, in full agreement with the theoretical predictions. Relatedly, measurements show the more blueshifted the absorption/emission energies, the greater the fluorescence quantum yield value (from ∼45% to ∼75%). On the other hand, electrochemical investigations suggested that the N-pattern has a limited influence on the redox properties. Lastly, depending on the N-pattern, different supramolecular organisations could be obtained at the solid-state, with the 1,7-pattern PXX molecule forming multi-layered, graphene-like, supramolecular sheets through a combination of weak H-bonding and π–π stacking interactions. Supramolecular striped patterned sheets could also be formed with the 3,9- and 4,10-congeners when co-crystallized with a halogen-bond donor molecule.

In the present study, a composite material consisting of polypyrrole nanowires (PPyNWs) and platinum nanoparticles (PtNPs) has been developed by an all-electrochemical approach and proved to be highly effective for electrochemical determination of dopamine (DA). PPyNWs are electropolymerized by a template-free method, and PtNPs are subsequently electrodeposited by cyclic voltammetry. Chemical characterization by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy showed the effective PtNP immobilization on polymer nanowires discriminating at the same time Pt species deposited and revealing the occurrence of polypyrrole-PtNP interaction. The morphology of the composite material was characterized using scanning electron microscopy that showed spherical Pt nanoparticles well distributed within PPy-NW network. DA detection was performed by differential pulse voltammetry technique obtaining satisfactory performances in terms of linear range (1–77 μM), sensitivity, reproducibility (RSD 2.7%), and detection limit (0.6 μM). The electrocatalytic role of PtNPs in DA electroxidation process is clearly demonstrated by the comparison with PPyNWs only. Moreover, no significant response is observed in the presence of common interference as ascorbic acid and uric acid, which may coexist with DA in biological fluids, demonstrating a good selectivity toward DA. Moreover, DA was detected in human serum samples spiked obtaining a satisfactory recovery of 94%. A synergistic effect involving both PtNPs and PPyNWs is invoked for explaining the observed electrocatalytic activity.  相似文献

Salinity is one of the major abiotic stress conditions limiting crop growth and productivity. Duilio is a wheat genotype that shows tolerant behavior in both salt-stress and drought-stress conditions. Toward better understanding of the biochemical response to salinity in this genotype of durum wheat, a comparative label-free shotgun proteomic analysis based on normalized spectral abundance factors was conducted on wheat leaf samples subjected to increasing salt-stress levels (100 and 200 mmol L-1 NaCl) with respect to untreated samples. We found significant changes in 71 proteins for the first stress level, in 83 proteins at the higher salinity level, and in 88 proteins when comparing salt-stress levels with each other. The major changes concerned the proteins involved in primary metabolism and production of energy, followed by those involved in protein metabolism and cellular defense mechanisms. Some indications of different specific physiological and defense mechanisms implicated in increasing tolerance were obtained. The enhanced salinity tolerance in Duilio appeared to be governed by a higher capacity for osmotic homeostasis, a more efficient defense, and an improvement of protection from mechanical stress by increased cell wall lignifications, allowing a better potential for growth recovery.  相似文献

Some linear evolution problems arising in the theory of hereditary electromagnetism are considered here. Making use of suitable Liapunov functionals, existence of solutions as well as asymptotic behaviour, are determined for rigid conductors with electric memory. A theoretical error estimate for quadrature formulas, which depends on four approximations of the integral, is derived. We obtain a bound, often sharper than the trivial one, which requires milder conditions to be satisfied than a similar result previously presented by Laurie.
