Contribution of Rhodamine B doping on the structural and optical properties of PVA is investigated here. With increasing doping wt%, Raman spectra show the disappearance of main PVA peaks revealing a decrease in crystallinity and breaking of bonds, which also results in modified surface morphology as seen from corresponding SEM measurements. Optical absorption measurements show the possibility of both direct and indirect transitions, also indicating strong modifications in optical properties as a result of doping fluorescent dye in the polymer host.  相似文献

X-ray diffraction and magnetic force microscopy techniques were used to investigate the structural and the static magnetic properties of vapor-deposited cobalt films with various thicknesses t ranging from 50 to 195 nm. Texture measurements revealed that as the thickness increases, the films become predominantly c-axis oriented. Magnetic stripe domains structure was only observed for the thicker films, with t=195, 173 and 125 nm, while such a magnetic configuration was expected for all the samples based on the theoretical studies. Since the layers present increasing c-axis misorientation when the thickness decreases, we assume that this effect can prevent the stripe domains formation. This behavior is qualitatively explained by a simple model which describes the stripe domains structure taking into account the role of a small misorientation of the anisotropy axis.  相似文献

Calculations of the frequencies and absolute intensities of the IR bands of plane vibrations of thymine and N1,N3-deuterothymine in various phase states have been carried out. Laser-induced fluorescence spectroscopy has been employed to characterize the plume produced in nanosecond laser ablation of metallic neodymium. The kinetic-energy distributions of the neutral and ionized atoms in the plume under both vacuum and gas environments have been investigated. The population distribution of metastable levels in the ablated atoms was also derived. The results show that some metastable states are more heavily populated than predicted by a Boltzmann-type distribution. These investigations provide preliminary data for the design of a new type of resonance photo-ionization laser ion source as well as for high-resolution laser spectroscopy of refractory elements. We present results for the branching fractions and charge asymmetries in B+/--->h(+/-)pi(0) (where h(+/-)=pi(+/-),K+/-) and a search for the decay B0-->pi(0)pi(0) using a sample of approximately 88 x 10(6) BBmacr; pairs collected by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B Factory at SLAC. We measure B(B+/--->pi(+/-)pi(0))=(5.5(+1.0)(-0.9)+/-0.6)x10(-6), where the first error is statistical and the second is systematic. The B+/--->pi(+/-)pi(0) signal has a significance of 7.7sigma including systematic uncertainties. We simultaneously measure the K+/-pi(0) branching fraction to be B(B+/--->K+/-pi(0))=(12.8(+1.2)(-1.1)+/-1.0)x10(-6). The charge asymmetries are Api(+/-)(pi(0))=-0.03(+0.18)(-0.17)+/-0.02 and AK+/-(pi(0))=-0.09+/-0.09+/-0.01. We place a 90% confidence-level upper limit on the branching fraction B(B0-->pi(0)pi(0)) of 3.6 x 10(-6).  相似文献

In previous work on polarization-mode dispersion (PMD) measurement with an optical time-domain reflectometer with polarimetry (p-OTDR), scatterers were assumed to be a cloud of small spherical particles in a fiber. We have found that the p-OTDR waveforms were fitted well by modified Mueller matrices, assuming scattering by a cloud of nonspherical particles. We realized a PMD measurement based on the p-OTDR Jones matrix eigenanalysis (JME) method. The measured PMD was consistent with that of JME standard measurement with transmission-type polarimetry.  相似文献

Fluorescence correlation spectroscopy was used to probe the dynamics of lambda-phage DNA in aqueous solution labeled with the randomly intercalating dye TOTO. The linear macromolecules (i). carry more than one chromophore and (ii). are larger than the waist of the focal volume. The correlation function decays significantly faster than expected for a stiff globule of corresponding size but is in good agreement with the dynamic model of semiflexible chains including hydrodynamic interactions. As the chromophore density is lowered the correlation time decreases in accordance with this model.  相似文献

In spatial dimensions d>or=2, Kondo lattice models of conduction and local moment electrons can exhibit a fractionalized, nonmagnetic state (FL(*)) with a Fermi surface of sharp electronlike quasiparticles, enclosing a volume quantized by (rho(a)-1)(mod 2), with rho(a) the mean number of all electrons per unit cell of the ground state. Such states have fractionalized excitations linked to the deconfined phase of a gauge theory. Confinement leads to a conventional Fermi liquid state, with a Fermi volume quantized by rho(a)(mod 2), and an intermediate superconducting state for the Z2 gauge case. The FL(*) state permits a second order metamagnetic transition in an applied magnetic field.  相似文献

The microstructure and dynamics of a colloidal system interacting via short-ranged interparticle potential is studied by ultra-small-angle x-ray scattering and x-ray photon correlation spectroscopy. A colloidal gas-liquid type transition is induced when the short-ranged attractive interactions attain sufficient magnitude. The development of liquidlike structure is preceded by a systematic transition in the particle dynamics from diffusive to constrained motion and then completely frozen behavior. This demonstrates the existence of a jamming transition induced by strong short-ranged attractive interactions even at low packing fractions.  相似文献

Wavelength beam combining of five ytterbium fiber lasers is demonstrated in a master-oscillator power-amplifier configuration at combined powers up to 6 W. The combined beam profile has an M2 value of 1.14, which is equal to that of an individual fiber. Beam steering in one dimension over 140 resolvable spots is also demonstrated.  相似文献
